Louisville Slugger Meta -8 USSSA Baseball Bat: WBL2468010
The Meta has been busy beating up high school and college pitching for 2 years, now it is ready to unleash its potential on USSSA pitching too.
Bat Benefits
This drop 8 size is what you will probably be looking for (in regard to size) if you are playing in the 13U division of USSSA (you'll need either a drop 8 or drop 5 bat if you're in that division of USSSA play). And this bat is awesome as it will function well for contact and power hitters alike. The bat is considered a 3-piece bat as it has a (1) composite barrel (2) composite handle and a (3) connection piece that make up the entire build of the bat. And the EKO Composite material that the bat features should offer a huge barrel length and incredible sound when you hit a baseball!
Lastly, it is worth noting that the bat will have the new-looking USSSA baseball stamp that bears the words "NTS Tested".

Pros: Well built bat, has pop, but too early to tell regarding the durability as it was only used in one tournament. The color scheme is nice as well. Hopefully we get as much use out of it as previous Louisville Sluggers.
Cons: None so far.
Pros: Lot of pop and good feel
Cons: If it’s like every other bat it will probably only last a year.
Pros: Meta was a gift for my 12U son's Christmas. It was love at first site. Been out to the cage twice and loves the feel and pop. He slept with the bat Christmas night. He told me it was for "luck".
Cons: Very limited sample size...less than 300 swings. So far so good. We love in Central Iowa. Major winter storm today expecting 8 to 10 inches of snow. The con is we can't get to the cage today!
Pros: No vibration, good pop.
Cons: Broke after 3 times using it. Hopefully the new bat will be different. Review would be 5 stars had it not broke.
Pros: Good pop
Cons: Grip tape coming off in less than a month Louisville won’t send another tape expensive bat not put together well
Pros: Good pop, no vibration and just a awesome feel.
Cons: None
Pros: Good pop. Good balance.
Cons: After two weeks of use it has come loose at the connecting point. Hopefully the warranty is as advertised
Pros: Great Pop and feel
Cons: I have seen 4 of these bats crack in the last 2 months. The durability is not very good. Great pop but don't expect the bat to last very long. I would recommend not using this bat other than in game play and do not use for bating practice once the bat has been broken in.
Pros: Great pop my 11u loves the feel and pop. Hit it 280ft. Even though it cracked after 3 weeks we returned it and want the same bat cause its a good bat.
Cons: It cracked after 3 weeks.
Pros: Vey large sweet spot and a light swing weight. Has a bout 200 hits on it and its just getting hotter and hotter. Haven't used it in a game but very solid in bp. Have a had a variety of hitters hit this bat in the AAA Major 12u and all my teammates have loved it. Feels good on both hands. The feeling when you hit the sweet spot is unmatched it just feels right. I'm a pretty small 12 year old and I'm able to swing this just fine.
Cons: Not really a con But I'm slightly worried about the durability but so far so good.
Pros: Well balanced, very light, great pop. My son loves this bat more then his CF-zen.
Cons: Don’t have any yet, only had it for a month.
Pros: My son is a good contact hitter and has some pop to the alleys. In the past, he has used a drop 10 exclusively, but he seems to be loving the switch to a drop 8 so far. Great bat with lots of pop!
Cons: None so far.
Pros: Ball travel’s extremely well.
Cons: Durability
Pros: As a coach and a hitting instructor and father. This has been the best -8 bat I have seen so far. All the kids in our program that have this bat love it. None complain of vibration issues, massive sweet spot, ball explodes off the bat. Have seen it out perform the CF, Easton Alpha, ADV, etc. I don’t pay much attention to a random max exit velocity but more to consistent exit velocity. The kids who use this bat are consistently hitting the ball har due to its swing weight and bat control it allows.
Cons: None at the moment.
Pros: My son had a cat 9 and he would hit it to the fence but not over then he stared to use this bat at he hit his first home run with it in only 3 tournaments.
Cons: The on problem is that every kid wants to use my suns bat
Pros: feels great, big sweet spot, the bat looks amazing, not to pricey, no vibration unless you hit under the letter m in meta.
Cons: might break if you do not take care of it
Pros: Great bat my team uses it as a team bat we have 4 bombs with it I do recommend buying it
Cons: None so far
Pros: Barrel control Big barrel Feels great upon contact Decent pop Really good grip and knob
Cons: There is a substantial break in period Not on top of the list for pop
Pros: Hot out wraper like cat 9 composite but lighter swing
Cons: None
Pros: Immaculate pop, great durability, feels great, I would very much recommend getting this bat
Cons: NO CONS
Pros: Good pop, quick break-in (150+ hits), no vibrations
Cons: Bat tape rough,
Pros: ordered this bat a little while ago, shipping came in no time, my son was so excited, right out of the wrapper you can tell the bat needs 100-200 break in swings, my son was very excited he got out the first day and started swinging, we’ve noticed this bat doesn’t have as much pop as other bats such as the cat 9 composite and adv 360, but it has much larger sweet spots then both of them and is way more balanced, only thing we are worried about is durability but so far so good!!
Cons: durability worries.
Pros: My son loves it! So excited to start off his fall baseball games
Cons: None
Pros: The bat is well balanced and has a lot of pop. My son has the maxum drop 10 and the marucci cat 8 drop 8 as well and after swinging all of the bats the meta hits consistently farther. The cat feels more end loaded but is the least performing of the three bats.
Cons: None
Pros: Great pop, good look and feel,
Cons: None yet

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.
After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.
The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.
The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.
Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
