Description
DeMarini Zoa -10 USSSA Baseball Bat: WTDXZBZ22
DeMarini spent tons of lab hours creating their latest composite baseball bat creation...the Zoa!
Bat Benefits
DeMarini has built this Zoa as a two-piece and all-composite bat using the most advanced composite material that they have ever designed. The Continuous Fiber Composite material consists of a single sheet of composite rolled upon itself. This creates a barrel that performs highly all the way up and down the barrel length. You’ll be able to connect with a baseball near the end cap or close to the connector piece (i.e. away from the sweetspot) and still see impressive results.
The connection piece has also been updated when you compare it to what is on the CF USSSA baseball bat (DeMarini’s other 2-piece and all-composite bat). DeMarini created the Anomaly Connection system that incorporates the Paraflex Plus Composite material which has been seen on past DeMarini bats. However, this Anomaly Connection system creates a connector piece that creates an extremely stiff feel at the moment of contact with a baseball. As opposed to the flex feel you experience when swinging a CF model of a bat, the stiffness of this Zoa should allow for the most energy to be transferred into the baseball during a swing. And the distance of your hits should be extremely impressive.
This drop 10 model should have a pretty balanced swing feel, but some players might experience a small amount of barrel load due to the long barrel length. This is definitely going to be a bat that mostly advanced USSSA batters will be wanting due to the technological advances that DeMarini has made on it.
Warranty

If you buy the bat from JustBats and experience a warranty issue within 12 months of the purchase date, please let our Bat Experts know. They will get you the information needed to begin a warranty replacement process with DeMarini!

End cap flew off - Don’t buy!!! Matt Parent
Pros: Stylish, good grip
Cons: End cap flew off shortly after getting it. Waste of $!!!!!
Solid purchase Chris Parent
Pros: I can’t speak to durability, as the bat has only been used for a short time, but no issues so far. The bat is stiff and balanced. My son says it’s easy to swing and he has been consistently barreling balls since he started using it. Solid pop as well.
Cons: None so far.
Grandson Loves It! Dave Hensley Coach
Pros: Ball jumps off the bat. It was hot right out of the box. The balance was great for our 9u from the jump. No break in time needed. Gave him confidence after first use.
Cons: I miss the sound of a good ping, but the doubles make up for that with our lefty.
Replacement Jim Jones Coach
Pros: Great performance with great pop
Cons: Only buying to replace the same bat that a 7 year old broke. Not very durable
Testing bats Player
Pros: The pop on this bat is insane it makes your bat speed so much faster
Cons: The durability is terrible my friends bat broke in like 20 swings in please make bats that are more durable
Demarini Zoa -10 Chris Walsh Parent
Pros: Great look. My son loves this bat.
Cons: I don't have anything negative to say about it.
Big Time Pop!! Dean Parent
Pros: Pop, Balance, Looks
Cons: None so far. Time will tell with durability.
Grandsons happy Dan Other
Pros: I am living vicariously through him
Cons: I am too old to play
Cracked it Mid Season Dylan Parent
Pros: Well balanced and has good pop. The grip is bad and needs to be replaced. Everything was good until it cracked.
Cons: Bat cracked at practice, was 60 out so not the cold. Now I am trying to get it replaced ASAP. We'll see how the warranty works and I'll post back to let everyone know. Shouldn't crack for $400.00 but that's composite.
terrible durability. Player
Pros: the pop and vibration is out of this world
Cons: trash durability and grip tape.
Least Durable Bat Bryan Coach
Pros: Good pop on sweet spot Little to no vibration
Cons: Durability Four of our 10u players have purchased this bat and all four bats have broken within 3 months. They were not being used as team bats so the damage is from single player use. It is a good to great bat while it lasts but an absolute rip off at $400.
Great Pop Bryan Parent
Pros: Had pop out of the wrapper. Started to lose pop after 3 months of weekend play and tournaments. Didn’t see any cracks but sounded different and no distance. Demarini gave me a credit for warranty.
Cons: Durability but Demarini was way to deal with for warranty
Great bat Alika Coach
Pros: Good balance, pop, sound, durability. No sting. Consistent doubles and triples.
Cons: None yet.
Great out of the gate David Coach
Pros: Pop, swings very balanced, looks good
Cons: Broke about halfway through the season, DeMarini is pretty good about sending a replacement
Hot Brooks T Parent
Pros: Bought this bat for my 10U son. He has been hitting some of the hardest balls I've ever seen him hit and it is not even close to broken in yet.
Cons: None yet.
Son loves it. But not sure on durability. Bryan Parent
Pros: My son absolutely loves this bat. Balanced feel good pop, but don’t think it’s built for the serious travel ball players
Cons: Bat started cracking within the first month of use. Sent it back waiting on replacement.
Beast JessKy81 Parent
Pros: Great pop, huge sweet spot! Hits bombs!
Cons: None so far
29/19 ZOA Cam Kohutek Parent
Pros: My Son loves it! Seems to be fresh and consistent throughout the whole barrel
Cons: None
Good bat Eddy Coach
Pros: Bar seems to have good pop and good balance!
Cons: Like all composite bats……..sketchy to use in this cold spring weather and walking on eggshells with players trying to impress on them to be cautious to not damage end cap!
Zoa EJ Parent
Pros: Great pop
Cons: Durability
Horrible quality Mike Parent
Pros: None
Cons: My 10u son had this bat for 1.5 months and it cracked in several spots. Terrible customer service from DeMarini. Just bats handled it great. But DeMarini failed to fully refund the product fully. Not impressed and never again.
Good Pop, Cheap Grip Jake M Parent
Pros: Son switched to this from a Maxum and you can see the difference in pop. I hit a few off the tee with both bats and this one is much easier on the hands. Bat is somewhat end loaded, but not overly so.
Cons: $400 bat and they’ve put the cheapest, thinnest, least grippy tape they could find on it. Watch the bomb dropper boys’ latest USSSA showdown video and you’ll see they’ve already broken two of these bats trying to make two other videos.
Perfect bat! Carson Player
Pros: Pop, balance
Cons: Styling
Travel ball 10u player Ryan Player
Pros: Great pop out of the wrapper.
Cons: Concerned about durability due to previous issues with manufacturer.
Here comes the Boom! Anonymous Coach
Pros: Serious pop right from the first swing! This bat is a Game Changer!
Cons: Nothing really, if anything get a new grip
Elite Bat for Elite Hitters Josh Parent
Pros: Has great “pop” out the wrapper, even though it is a composite bat. My son has used teammates CF Zen bats before and he says that this one is more “better” for feel and pop. I must admit that it does make his hits have a lot more velocity. Can’t really rate the durability yet, but we will only use it as a gamer only bat. So far so good. Definitely a good bat to get.
Cons: Price. Not worth it if the batter’s swing isn’t up to par. Not a magic bat that makes great hitters. For the price it should also come with a higher quality grip tape.

About the Brand
In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."
In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.
Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.
To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.
In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.
Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.
With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).
In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.
Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.
In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.
More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
