Description

Louisville Slugger Meta -8 USSSA Baseball Bat: WBL2529010

The pressure will be on for the pitcher when he sees a batter roll up to the dish with a Meta baseball bat in hand!

Bat Benefits

Back for its second go-around in the USSSA baseball ranks is the Louisville Slugger Meta! And Slugger has built it with the trusted combination of materials that they know will launch baseballs.

The Meta will be the three-piece and all-composite offering from Louisville Slugger and it features Slugger’s high quality and impressive EKO Composite. The EKO material is so astounding because it allows for a long barrel length while also allowing the bat to remain extremely lightweight and balanced.

Earlier, we shouted out that Louisville Slugger touts this bat as a three-piece model. The reason they do that is that they consider the connector piece to be piece number 3 (in addition to the barrel and handle which are pieces number 1 and 2). The connector on this bat is the VCX2 piece that should limit vibration while also working with the EKO composite material to allow for an explosive feel at contact with a baseball.

This drop 8 bat will work really well for advanced hitters at the 11-and-12-year-old ages. As well, it can work perfectly for a 13 year old playing in the 13U division of USSSA baseball (be sure to note that at least a drop 8 bat will be required for use within the USSSA 13U division of play).

Warranty

You can buy this Louisville Slugger with some confidence! There is no way that a company as storied as Louisville Slugger made it to its current position without understanding the need to help customers. They will extend a twelve (12) month warranty on this bat that extends from the date of purchase. If you buy this bat from JustBats and notice that a warranty issue has arisen on it within 1 year of the purchase, please contact the JustBats Bat Experts. They are trained in warranty knowledge and will get you the directions to begin the warranty process with Louisville Slugger.

Incredible bat! Jerry Player

Pros: It has insane pop combined with a huge sweet spot and a light swing weight. It’s a very durable bat for a composite unlike other composites it doesn’t have to be a game only bat. It also has almost no vibration.

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
