Pop and feel ionlyhitdingers Player

Pros: Looks awesome and feels nice when swinging

Cons: Ball comes off weird and different, kind of feels dead. The handle is different from the 2018 model, more of a rounder feel. I prefer the feel and pop much better than this bat.

Good out of the box! Tay Player

Pros: Looks good, feels well balanced. A lot of pop right out of the box, hitting balls off the fence first time out. Can not speak of durability, (gave it 5 stars because I had to rate it) but so far, loving the bat!!

Cons: None yet, time will tell......

Questions and Answers (21)

Have a question about the DeMarini CF Insane -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI19? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Would this bat be good for a 12 year old girl on travel team? 5' and 130 lbs and currently uses the XENO bat from last year 31" -10.
Mom of 2
This would be a good choice for your player, my only worry is the DeMarini CF Insane -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI19 going to be end loaded and the the 2018 XENO will be a balanced option. The change in weight distribution could benefit your daughter, if you believe she could handle the end weight.
Max
My 13 yr old daughter is 5'7" and 140 lbs (strong girl). Leaning towards the 33" or 34". What do you say?
just J
Based on your player's height and weight, we would make a general recommendation of getting this DeMarini CF Insane -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFI19) in the 33" length.
Ben
My daughter is 10 playing 12u. She is 5’0” and 90 lbs. and currently she uses the Easton FS3 -12. 30/18. What would you recommend for her?
jeff
Given your daughter's specifications, I would not recommend the DeMarini CF Insane -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI19 because of the end loaded swing weight. However, I would recommend that you check out the DeMarini CF Zen -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFS19 in either 30" or 31".
Tyler
My daughter is 13 years old and 5'7 220 pounds, very strong, very fast bat speed. What's your recommendation on a bat?
excited dad
The DeMarini CF Insane -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI19 would work well for your daughter. The end loaded swing weight will benefit the players strong hands. I would recommend swing a 34'' model.
Max
Do you do military discounts?
Steave
Yes, we do offer a military discount of 10%. However, you would have to call in and order over the phone with one of our customer associates for verification purposes and to receive the price adjustment.
Kyle J.
My daughter got the DeMarini Zen for Christmas but I was told the Insane model may be better. She is 5'10" and weighs 175. She got a 34 with a 10 drop Zen. What do you think?
PJM
The DeMarini CF Insane -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI19 is an end loaded bat to provide more weight behind the ball on contact. We would only suggest this style to stronger, more confident hitters. It sounds like you have a strong player, so it certainly could be to their benefit to swing the end loaded model.
Tyler
Is there any warranty?
olyvia
Yes, this DeMarini CF Insane -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFI19) has a 12 month manufacturer's warranty from the purchase date with DeMarini.
Ben
My 16 year old daughter has been using a teammates 2016 CF8 Insane -10 and loves it. She is first in the line-up,fast little runner, bunts & slap hits. She was looking at getting this bat. Wondering if this is a good fit or should we stick with the 2016?
Dawn
The DeMarini CF Insane -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI19 would be a great fit given that your player already enjoys the CF8 Insane. The endload typically is not your daughters style of play, but with hitting each individual player is different and it seemss that the CF8 Insane works for her. Because of the information you have given me for your 16 year old the DeMarini CF Insane -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI19 would be a great option for your player.
Max
My daughter is 12u, 5'6" and 111 lbs. Currently, she is using the 2018 PXT but has put some major wear into it. Do you think the Insane is a good choice or just stick with getting another PXT?
Steve
The DeMarini CF Insane -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI19 may feel heavier than the PXT she has been using previously as this bat features more of an end-loaded swing weight while the PXT is power balanced. Based on her age, height and weight you may want to consider sticking with a bat that is more balanced.
Cameron
My daughter is 11 years old and is playing 12U this year. She is getting hitting lessons but is currently an inexperienced hitter. She is 5’2" tall and 97 lbs. We just bought the CF Insane 32"/22 oz. Would you recommend her getting the zen instead?
Brian Anderson
We would definitely recommend a standard CF Zen instead of an Insane for a younger player. The Insane is an end-loaded design that is intended for power hitters or older players, typically high school age or above, or players that are very strong/large for their age who can handle the top heavy nature of the Insane. The CF Zen is a well balanced model intended for the more average hitter.
Kyle J.
Would this be a good choice for my 18 year old daughter, 5’10, 150 lb. she currently uses the 2018 demarini hope bat.
Alana
The DeMarini CF Insane -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI19 is going to an end loaded bat where as her previous Hope was balanced. This would be a good choice for her is she is more of a true power hitter and can use the extra weight. However, if she likes more of a balanced feel similar to her other bat, I would recommend the DeMarini CF Zen -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP19 instead.
Tori
My daughter is 16 years old, 5'4" and 125 lbs. She is playing high school ball right now. Would this bat be the best selection?
Michael O'Donnell
The DeMarini CF Insane -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI19 is a great choice for a power hitter as it is an end loaded bat. If she is more of a contact hitter, I would recommend looking at the DeMarini CF Zen -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP19.
Tori
My daughter is 15 and is 5'2'' and is 117 lbs. Is this a good bat for her?
Gerry
The DeMarini CF Insane -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI19 would be a great option for a 15 year old if they prefer an end-loaded bat. Otherwise, if more of a contact hitter then the DeMarini CF Zen -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP19 would be a great bat to consider.
Cameron
Would this be a good bat for a 17 year old junior in high school that is 5'6" and weights about 170 lbs? She's a great hitter just looking for something to get the ball over the fence.
Jami
The DeMarini CF Insane -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI19 is an end loaded bat, meaning it will swing a little barrel heavy. If the player is one of the few strongest and most powerful hitters on the team, the end load should benefit her. I would suggest a 34" length for your player.
Logan
Can this bat be used in USSSA tournaments?
Denise Barron
The DeMarini CF Insane -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFI19) is USSSSA approved.
John
My daughter is 5'4", weighs 130 lbs. Is on varsity softball and is on a travel team also. She currently has a 32, -11 Demarini bat, would you recommend this bat for her?
Debbie Simon
With the player specs listed, I would suggest a 33 or 34" bat option. The DeMarini CF Insane -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI19 is an end loaded bat. Most players prefer balanced options, if your player has not used end loaded bats before, we would suggest the balanced DeMarini CF Zen -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP19.
Daveron
Would this bat be good for a 14-year-old who is 5'6" tall and 120 lbs?
Marta
The DeMarini CF Insane -10 (WTDXCFI19) as an end-loaded design to it making it best suited for stronger, power hitters. If you believe your player fits that type, this would certainly be an excellent choice.
Kyle
Can you adjust it by turning the collar counter clockwise?
Michael Hensley
You would not be able to adjust anything on the DeMarini CF Insane -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI19. The only thing that could be changed would be the grip tape.
Cameron
My daughter is 5’, 135 lbs and is pretty strong and a great swing. She is currently using a DeMarini Bustos model, BFP12 32” -13 aluminum bat, and I would like to go to a composite bat for some more pop but wasn’t sure if I should go with the end loaded or balanced? Looking for advice.
Pete Gillespie
Going from a -13 model to an end-loaded bat like the DeMarini CF Insane -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI19 might not be the best fit. For someone that is of her height and weight, and factoring in the smaller bat previously used, we would recommend going with a more balanced bat like the DeMarini CF -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP20.
Cameron
How does this bat compare to the CF Zen? My daughter is 17.
Guy Maniscalo
The DeMarini CF Insane is the same style bat as the CF Zen, just with an end-loaded swing weight instead of a balanced swing weight.
Kyle
I just purchased this bat for my daughter who is 5'0 and weighs about 110 lbs. She was using the -11 , 32/22. She told me the bat seemed to heavy for her. What do you think?
Rebecca
Although the DeMarini CF Insane -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI19 may be heavy for her at first, it will be a bat she will be able to grow into and use for a longer period of time. However, I believe a 31 inch bat might be more comfortable for her right now.

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
