Description

Louisville Slugger Nexus -12 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WBL2459010

The Nexus has the potential to be the bat that will get your young player prepped for the next level of softball!

Bat Benefits

The Nexus is the model to consider if you have a young batter who wants a fastpitch bat that will be built similar to the top-flight bats they might be using in a few years. Slugger has built it with a two-piece, all-composite design. As well, the bat is outfitted with the XCT Connection piece that is designed to limit the vibration that could get down to a batter's hands on a miss-hit.

Even if your player is a little more advanced in their fastpitch journey, we think they will enjoy using this drop 12 bat. We especially think they will enjoy it if they are a slap hitter. The drop 12 length-to-weight ratio and balanced feel will make it extremely easy to control and you'll be able to place softballs anywhere on the fastpitch diamond.

Warranty

Louisville Slugger has been making bats for generations and they know the value of a confident customer. To allow you to have confidence in their products, they offer a twelve (12) month manufacturer’s warranty period on this bat. If you get the bat from us, use it and then feel that you have a warranty issue with the bat; be sure to reach out to the Bat Experts. They understand the warranty process for Slugger and will be able to get you the information and details to begin a warranty replacement process with them.

BUYERS BEWARE Daniel Fisher Parent

Pros: Looks good

Cons: After 3 batting practice sessions my daughters bat started to rattle on the inside. Please read the reviews. This bat is not durable at all and the manufacturer knows it and refuses to fix the issue. Instead they continue to make and sell this busted bat

DO NOT BUY! Mike Coach

Pros: The look of the bat is great, but that is the only good quality.

Cons: Constant rattle in the bat and it has ABSOLUTELY ZERO pop. It sounds like you are hitting the ball with a broken tree branch. There are bats, under $50, that are way better quality and have way better pop. Please do not waste your money on this bat as it shouldn't be sold for more than $30. I feel completely ripped off and dissatisfied. Louisville should consider taking this product off the market, or decrease the price by $200. I bought this before X-mas for my daughter and no longer have the receipt or I would be sending this back ASAP.

Great bat Joshua Jenkins Coach

Pros: Awesome price for a starter composite bat. Have a small girl in 10U who needed a smaller composite. Perfect fit. Received a bad bat the first go around and Just Bats honored it. Great company.

Cons: Concerned about durability a bit. First bag had a rattle after one use. Replacement has been great so far.

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
