Pros: I purchased this bat for my son for his birthday. He loved it from the moment he opened his present. This bat has a great look and feel. He loves the balance and large sweet spot that this bat has to offer. The bat also has a tremendous amount of pop. This should be a great summer for him at the plate. The knob is also a great feature. It has reduced the vibration significantly.

Pros: My son got the CAT7 30/22 -8 for Christmas and has used it almost every day since. He loved it, but he's playing up in Summer ball and we wanted to move up in weight to ease the transition to BBCOR and thought this would be the perfect bat to try. So far so good! Performs with the same consistency and pop as the -8 at the same price! No problems with the jump up in weight either

Pros: The marruci cat 7 drop 5 is a beast. There is a lot of pop to it that allows the ball to be hit very well. Its also very light than a regular drop 5 bat. All in all, this is a great bat.

Cons: There are two bad things about this bat. One, you have to hit the ball perfectly on the middle of the barrel to square up the pitch. Two, yes it is alloy, but it has a very loud, "ping" to it as well. By preference, this ping is very annoying during BP.

Pros: BAT WAS BOUGHT FOR ONE OF MY GRANDSONS HE HAS THE WHITE CAT -7 HE THOUGHT THAT HE COULD HIT BETTER WITH A DIFFERENT COLOR BAT. I WENT ON LINE AND PLACED THE ORDER, 2-DAYS LATER HE HAS THE BAT. HE HAS USED IT IN SEVERAL TOURNAMENTS, BATTING AVERAGE HAS WENT UP. WE HAVE NO ISSUES.

It also features a one piece aluminum design rather than a one piece composite design. Both bats are going to feature a balanced design.

The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Limited Edition -5 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC75L is still going to be heavier, therefore a bit harder to swing, than the end loaded XL3. However, the difference between those two is much less than the difference between a -8 balanced bat and a -5 balanced bat.

No, unfortunately the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Limited Edition -5 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC75L) will not be approved for play in Pony in 2018. Pony will switch to the USA Baseball Standard for 2018. They will require all bats to feature the USA Baseball Stamp starting January 1st 2018. Unfortunately, not models currently on the market feature the USA Baseball Stamp. The manufacturer's will release USA Baseball Bat models in early September.
