Description

2023 Louisville Slugger Meta -10 USSSA Baseball Bat: WBL2647010

Go for the win with the Louisville Slugger Meta USSSA drop 10!

Bat Benefits

The Meta from Louisville Slugger is back and once again determined to prove its worth as one of the most sought-after bats in the USSSA ranks!

This mean-green, hitting machine is constructed in a three-piece, all-composite design that incorporates many of the advanced features from past Meta models - with a few wrinkles we are sure you will love!  The first of which is the all-new EKO Composite Gapped Wall barrel that combines a low-compression outer wall with a stiff inner wall.  This technology is unprecedented in USSSA and aims to improve performance and power, regardless of swing speed!

To limit sting and vibration, Louisville Slugger equips the Meta with their VCX2 Connection System.  This patented feature works in conjunction with the EKO Composite Gapped barrel to not only boost comfort but it will also transfer explosive energy when you make contact with a baseball!

Lastly, the drop 10 size & balanced feel of this Meta will make it an enticing choice for travel ball players aged 7 to 12 years old.

Warranty

Louisville Slugger backs this bat with a one-year warranty against defects and some damages that may occur from routine on-field play. Those damages include broken knobs and cabs, structural damages and severe dents. Louisville may offer a one-time repair or replacement on bats that qualify under this warranty.

Pros: my son has had this bat for one week. He has over 700 hits on it(500 through the break in process) and is very pleased. He has had the CAT 7 through the CAT X ( all aluminum ) and like the feel of the composite. No problems to date will up date if it breaks.

Cons: none

Perfect For Nine Year Old Jim Besenyei Parent

Pros: My son loves how it feels hitting the ball. Compared to the aluminum Easton he started with it’s a game changer. Very low vibration, huge sweet spot, very forgiving bat. Great game bat for a beginner.

Cons: Not a lot of “pop.” A friend of his had a HypeFire and they were launching the ball while barely swinging, and needed no technique. Cost. It’s not worth $200, let alone the original price of $400. We only paid $150 and I think that’s the right price.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Louisville Slugger Meta -10 USSSA Baseball Bat: WBL2647010? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

My grandson wants this bat for his birthday. Looking at reviews, this bat has several complaints for breaking and cracking. Can you tell me if these are legit complaints or not? If legit how can this product still be available? I am reluctant to purchase inferior bats. Bill
Composite barrel bats, like the Louisville Slugger Meta -10 USSSA Baseball Bat: WBD2647010, are prone to cracking. Since LS would handle any warranty claim on the bat we cannot say for certain if this is a common issue that players are experiencing.

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
