2019 Ghost X Evolution-8 Bill Player

Pros: So far so good. Wanted to get a CF Zen -8 since they are balanced and not end loaded, but was scared by all the reviews of broken bats. Been about 3 weeks with the bat. 11u player. Only kid on the team swinging a -8. Its been an adjustment going to a heavier and endloaded bat but think its starting to pay off. Time will tell. Have about 1,500 hits on it so far between T, soft toss, front toss, live BP, and cage work. No signs of cracking, so the durability is good, again so far. No complaints of stinging. Getting use to the the sound of composite vs alloy. Does seem to pop harder off the bat. Not sure if that is the composite or more mass of the bat going to a 23oz vs 20oz bat.

Cons: Hard to swallow the price.

All around great bat Dan Parent

Pros: I recently purchased this bat for my 11U player. It did not take long to adjust to the drop 8 from the drop 10 that he has been swinging for the last 2 years. This bat has great pop and he seems to be driving the ball much further than before. We have not had the bat long enough for me to really comment on the durability but so far so good.

90 Day Update Bill Parent

Pros: Just checking in to update a prior review i left. It has been about 90 days. The bat has continued to be used on a regular basis in the cage since the season wrapped up. Noticed a change in the tone when making contact. Inspected the bat and noticed the end cap developed a crack and a hole. Easton has been very easy to work with on the warranty, but bummed it only lasted 3 months. Now we are going to be running 9 months on a $360 bat with no warranty. Time for a cage/practice bat and take this one out only for the game I guess. In all fairness my son has taken a TON of swings with this bat. Used in only about 15 games for fall ball, but probably 3,000 plus hits off a tee, front toss, and BP. YMMV.

Cons: The bat is poorly made. The end cap cracked and we had the bat replaced under warranty. Then a month later it broke again. You only get one return placement with easton

Worthless Bat! Troy Parent

Pros: Good Feel, Good Pop.

Cons: So I originally purchased the 2018 model in February of 2019. Couple of practices later something broke inside the bat, I returned it to Easton. Easton said they no longer had any 2018 in stock so the sent a 2019, got it in the middle of March. Used the bat in 4 tournaments, then middle of June hitting off a tee the bat did not sound right, end cap broken in half. Called Easton, WON’T REPLACE THE BROKEN BAT OR REPAIR THE END CAP, AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE HUNG UP THE PHONE. Will never do business with Easton again.

Best Drop 8 Performance and Feel Jager Coach

Pros: Ridiculous pop, perfect feel and balance(slight endload). Hits the ball a ton! Son has tried all of the high performance composites and the ghost x evo -8 performed better than the zen or Cf for him. The 2019 ghost x evo has absolutely been slept on. If your primary focus is performance and feel, this is the bat!

Cons: Has a bad reputation for the endcap issues but this probably the best performing bat of the last several years. Typically bats designed for maximum performance have lower durability. This is true of Demarini Cf and zens as well as the other top line performers.

Not sure why Easton is not making 2 5/8" barrel for the -8 model, USSSA? Bat restriction for a lot of these kids will not allow 2 3/4" barrel by the time they're 14. Shawn krieps

Most manufacturers are only making 2 3/4" models for USSSA, and making 2 5/8" models for USA and BBCOR. Unfortunately we don't have much say in what the manufacturing companies choose to produce.
