Hi, I'm Michele Smith. I'm going to take a little bit of time to talk about proper stride length and how we actually want to stride to the ball. A lot of times when we work off a tee, athletes will get too far away from the tee and hit the ball well out in front of their front foot. We don't want to do that. We want to make sure that we're set up so that when we actually make contact with the ball that the ball is slightly inside of our front foot. That's the way we hit in a game. So we want to make sure when we're practicing off the tee that's also the position that we're going to be in. The next thing we want to make sure of...  is that our stride is actually putting us in a position to keep our weight back. So we have all of that weight on that back leg. That's where our power is going to come from. And also the direction of the stride is proper, which means it's slightly toward the path of the ball. We never want to step in the bucket. When we do that it's gonna pull our swing off of the ball. So we want to make sure we're set up correctly, so that at contact our foot is down and we're going to be contacting the ball slightly behind that front foot. That's gonna allow us to really be realistic and drive the ball into the field of play. So keep that weight back, foot down, nice even swing.
