Good all around bat. Jared Parent
Pros: Wanted a good all around bat that could be used in colder weather and BP as well as games. The sweet spot is big and has great feel. Great bat at a good price.
Cons: Probably not as hot as top tier USSSA bats.
Incredible bat at a great price Evan Hill Parent
Pros: Balance and barrel control are great with this bat. This is actually the second one we have purchased for my younger son. We had the 27/17 last year, but something broke inside the bat. Slugger offered a replacement, but they did not have this Select Power anymore. We went with the -11 Zoa, which never had good pop and was dead after 2 months of coach pitch. They sent us the 2025 Atlas in a 27/17 as a replacement for the Zoa. It was a good bat, but never performed like this one did. My son is 8 and a little small for his age, but has a great swing. This bat produces better barrel pop and control than other bats he has swung (26/16 Atlas, 27/17 Cat6, aforementioned Zoa and Atlas, 27/17 Hype Fire). We went with the 28 on this round and it is consistent with what we experienced with the 27/17 last year. This bat continues to be the best he has swung. May not translate to your kid's swing, but definitely fits us!
Cons: none
Extremely Underrated Dylan Hudson Coach
Pros: -Great Pop -Good Swing Weight -Have had a 28 and 29. both performed equally well. I think this is a steal for the discounted price. Have seen my son hit the ball as far and as hard with this bat as he has when testing the Icon or Hype Fire.
Cons: -End Cap got loose.
Very good bat Sam cullen Player
Pros: Lots of pop and huge sweet spot
Cons: None yet
best bat ever Tanner Player
Pros: it has very good feel and a good ding.
Cons: none
Very solid Lucas Player
Pros: This bat has a huge sweet spot with an amazing grip and the overall feel is amazing
Cons: Pop could be a bit better and the paint chips easily
Buy this instead of a hype fire. Justin Parent
Pros: Hits the ball a mile, no break in necessary. My 8yo son hit a ball 225' in a machine pitch tournament with this bat. You don't need to drop $400 on a bat to hit bombs.
Cons: Barrel scratches easily. Rubber connector is a little torn already.
Instant team favorite. Robert Parent
Pros: Very good looking bat. An instant favorite with my son's 12u team. This bat sees a ton of use and provides great results for our young team.
Cons: Personally not a fan of the skeletonized knob and the soft rubber sleeve at the union point of the handle and barrel, but they are both holding up well so far.
Grandson is 7.6 years old used a 30-20 Bud Other
Pros: He’s 4’7 inches tall and 90 pounds. He’s crushing the ball with this bat great pop. So far this season 4 Hr 5 triples numerous doubles and singles great bat to start with for the price.
Cons: None really.
Bat Torrey Parent
Pros: The barrel is light which allows my son to swing smoothly without dipping his shoulder bc of the weight. Great grip and low vibrations
Cons: Not always reliable to big pop but does the job.
My son loves it! Tag Morris Coach
Pros: Great bat! Especially for the sale price. Seems to have good pop too. I think in -10 models you don't give up much between an alloy barrel like this one and a composite like a hype fire. Drop 5 models is where composites really run away with it. My 9 yr old loves it so far and says it doesn't ring his hands at all.
Cons: First bat that arrived had a crack in it and had to send it back. Justbats sent us a new one once they received the cracked one no problem. Probably damaged in shipping. No big deal
Grandson likes it Nelson Other
Pros: Reasonable Price
Cons: None
Select PWR B Dannheim Parent
Pros: Bought this for our 9yo son, he has this and the ICON in his bag. He loves the look and feel of it. He uses this more of a practice bat now that he has the ICON, just doesn't have as much pop. This bat can feel a little heavier then other, which is a plus for when he practices with it & switched to the ICON for games. This was his first USSSA bat and always a solid go to. The durability is great, its been used by other kids on his team.
Cons: Not as much pop as others.
Select PWR!!! Gabriel Parent
Pros: Bought my 7 yr old son this bat and he’s gamed it twice. So far he went from a base hitter to hitting 3 inside the park home runs and a double. He normally hits an F5 but he really likes the feel of the 3 piece bat.
Cons: The end cap is plastic and I’m afraid of it breaking when the umps throw the bats back to the dugouts. Also my son really likes the flared end grip of his CatX USA bat.
Gift for grandson Jeff Morrison Other
Pros: Looks and feels good
Cons: Unknown
broke after one season Connor Player
Pros: good grip
Cons: broke easily heavy
Awesome Chris Coach
Pros: This bat is well Balanced! Very smooth and hot right away!
Cons: N/A
Great bat Aaron Coach
Pros: Really good feel, no break in period, good pop, great sound with contact. So far, my 9U son loves the bat. It feels durable and well made. We are very happy with our purchase.
Cons: None so far.
This Bat is well worth the sell price of $150 Finn Parent
Pros: My son loves his new bat, it’s a very nice bat and the more swings you take the hotter it gets! Hardly any vibration I give it a 8.5 out of 10
Cons: It’s not a Hype Fire or CatX but for last years model From LS and the sell price of $150 a definite must buy
Great bat for smaller kids Alex Garzes Parent
Pros: My son weighs 45lbs soaking wet and he can swing the 27 with ease. Has great feel. He can get into the zone pretty easy. Not as endloaded as I was expecting. The sound off the barrel is a preference thing but it sounds great.
Cons: He still has a small amount of vibration when hit towards the hands but nothing painful. Have not had very long to access durability but it looks to be made very solid.
Paid for itself DAY 1 Tommy W Parent
Pros: My son has been hitting a Marrucci Cat 9 for coach pitch but is moving to kid pitch this spring. We had been hitting a 29 inch 1 piece LS Solo, but unfortunately found it has broken and gone dead. Bat arrived Friday, Tryouts are Monday so Sunday we went to hit in attempt to get him used to it. Each round of BP, he was hitting hard line drives and deep balls, 3rd round of BP, my son hits his first home run. 50 swings in and my son hits a dinger. Price point and performance out of the wrapper is the best I’ve come across. WORTH IT.
Cons: Haven’t had long enough to know about durability but good bat already
Great Pop Travis K Parent
Pros: This bat has a lot of pop and the weight is properly distributed.
Cons: None so far.
Great bat Matt Parent
Pros: Super hot. Slightly end weighted but not over the top so it's a great bat for a kid that wants to move from a more balanced bat but doesn't want to go all in with something like the LS Meta or DeMarini The Goods. It'll be interesting to see the data on this once people start testing it - feel like there's a chance it might hang with the hotter composites but who knows. My son and some of his teammates hit with one at a demo back in November and were all hitting rockets even on balls that weren't squared - huge sweet spot with a ton of pop all along the barrel. All the sudden his bat from last season was completely dead according to him -LOL. I had to enter a durability rating in order to post but no idea about durability yet - just got it.
Cons: This is definitely a preference thing but it has a straight handle - no knob flare. Might be a pro for some but my son doesn't like it. Going to put one on and re-grip which is unfortunate because the factory grip is really nice. Not sure why they would make a higher end bat without a taper but it might be because of the thinner knobs they use on their 2 piece bats. According to the guy I talked to at Louisville Slugger customer service, adding the flare and re-gripping won't void warranty - hopefully he's right.

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.
After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.
The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.
The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.
Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
