DeMarini CF -5 USSSA Baseball Bat: WTDXCB520
Give your utility player a reason to improve this baseball season with the new DeMarini CF ZEN two-piece USSSA baseball bat. Updated with the most cutting-edge DeMarini technology, overseen by their expert team of engineers and baseball enthusiasts, this USSSA bat offers new flexibility, more power potential, and enhanced bat speed for a young utility player seeking to improve his all-around hitting game.
Bat Benefits
This new two-piece CF USSSA bat from DeMarini comes with the patented 3-Fusion Connection handle technology. This gives hitters the confidence and strength to swing with ease and power, knowing that the bulk of the energy on any pitcher's heater will be localized in the barrel of the bat. The barrel itself, too, is now manufactured with DeMarini's Paraflex Plus Composite technology. This new barrel doesn't sacrifice power and may increase a player's bat speed through the strike zone. And with a power hitter-friendly -5 drop weight, you can be sure to see some dingers this coming season. To further scare the pitchers on the mound, this bat comes equipped with the new ReACTION end cap that reinforces the rigidity on the Composite barrel. This bat is perfect for the utility player who is a genuine power threat and keeps the defense confused and on their heels.
Warranty
DeMarini offers a limited one-year warranty on all of its non-wood bats, including this CF ZEN USSSA baseball bat. Order your own today at JustBats.com and take advantage of our fast, free shipping.

Pros: My 13 year old son reports no stinging in his hands. He also says its balanced and feels as comfortable as his Mariucci 31/21. He went to this Demarini 31/25 to start to get ready for BBCOR and High School Baseball next year. Been using bat since release date.
Cons: None as if yet. Can only give 4 stars. Any composite always has the breakage possibility or the rattle in the barrel. So for none of this has happened. We will see how the bat performs in durability as season progresses.
Pros: Great pop in this bat. My 12 year old played in a 13u Labor Day Tournament and batted over .800 with almost 20 RBI and 3 HR after just getting this bat about 2 weeks before. He had never hit an over the fence homerun before. Hit one 280 over a 250 fence. Other players on the team started using it...2 other guys hit homeruns with it.
Cons: none
Pros: Good feel No vibration Amazing pop right off the wrapper
Cons: No cons so far
Pros: This has so much pop! I used it an hit one 320 on a 300 field.
Cons: None
Pros: My son likes it very much. He was hitting bombs.
Cons: The grip fade after a couple of use
Pros: TONS OF POP
Cons: NONE
Pros: Great pop within eight jroseat bats one homerun
Cons: None
Pros: Tremendous pop and balance at the same time. The factory grip is comfortable and mishits do not seem to cause much vibration. Nice sound off the bat, not the high pitched ping that some bats have.
Cons: No cons yet, historically my only complaint with DeMarini bats is they wear out fast but I am hoping this one breaks the trend.
Pros: The balance & load feel on this bat is excellent. Little to no vibration upon contact with the ball, only time you have vibration is when contact around the skinny/handle part of the bat, which is normal. My son was amazed at how light the bat was going from a drop 8 to drop 5, no significant issues on transition. Only had the bat for a couple of weeks, but so far very satisfied with the bat.
Cons: None noted at this time.
Pros: These bats have amazing pop and great balance with no sting.
Cons: Bat broke in two pieces after 4 games. DeMarini is sending a replacement but taking their sweet time and poor customer service.
Pros: Ball jumps off these bats. Went from the Drop 10 to the Drop 5 and bat slowed down a little bit but the ball explodes off this bat. We will not go back to an alloy barrel.
Cons: It is a little end heavy but hopefully the added weight ensures longevity. We replaced several Drop 10s due to cracking. My 12 year old converted easier than I thought he would from the Drop 10 to the Drop 5. He should be able to use this bat for the next 2 years.
Pros: So smooth. Nice pop.
Cons: None so far
Pros: Good pop out of the wrapper, Great pop once broken in, No vibration on missed hits.
Cons: Paint chip issues after just a few swings but they are minor. Not as balanced a swing as the Vodoo drop 5.
Pros: Good bat until crack
Cons: Waiting on crack
Pros: Son is absolutely CRUSHING the ball. We have a field with trees lining the outfield fence. He has always tried to hit the trees. He is now hitting middle of the tree’s. Even put on over the tree’s. Thank you justbats!!
Cons: Absolutely 0. Great pop out of the box. Son won’t put it down.
Pros: Has great pop son hasn’t used in a game yet but crushing ball in cage and on the practice field. Had same bat in -10 for 12u moved up to -5 for 13u
Cons: None as usual from DeMarini
Pros: Great pop. Best I’ve ever swung. 0 vibration and huge sweet spot
Cons: Grip is awful. That’s a cheap fix. Can only gift feel a 4 because I don’t know how well I hit the ball where on the barrel because everything goes so far!
Pros: It has the best pop of any usssa bat on the barrel, and has no vibration at all. Is pretty balanced as I went from a 32/27 cat 8 connect to a 33/28 cf zen and had no problems. Very good bat
Cons: The 3 inches on the end of the bat may as well not exist. Performance of the end of the bat is horrible. Also pricey, and has potential for breakage, although covered by warranty

About the Brand
In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."
In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.
Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.
To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.
In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.
Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.
With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).
In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.
Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.
In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.
More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
