Pros: The prime feels amazing no vibration at all

Cons: Unlike the 916-917-918 this bat does not have pop at all i got to hit with it on the field at our local college when they had demo day with the bats, all though it feels amazing it took me everything I had to hit it out.I would recommend the select 719 or the omaha. With those bats balls fly out of the park with ease

Pros: Great Pop off the bat. Great Feel and little to no vibration. Bought this bat for my son this fall and he loves it. Other kids have used the bat and loved it so much it has pretty much become the team bat.

Cons: Con for me is always the cost but not much we can do about that.

Pros: no sting

Cons: Tbh i would rate this bat a zero star if I could.Literally no pop.it seems personally that the people that like this bat are rich dads or kids that just aren't strong at all. This bat is the beginning of the end if the primes continue like this.If you want the ball to go anywhere and composite either get a 917/916 or the meta prime. And the price for such bad of a tool is ridiculous.)0/5

Have to break in! Christian Coach

Pros: Eventually the bat will have POP. Very balanced and durable. I too was initially very upset for spending $450 for a bat that was hyped as the next best thing but had no pop. We had to break it in really good and that took 3 weeks and 1000 hits. After breaking in, the bat is living up to all the hype. Tested exit velocity off this bat and two other Alloy bats and the velocity was better with the Prime.

Cons: Initially was upset and dissapointed. It takes a good 3 weeks and 1000 hits to break in. This bat reminds me of last years Demarini — takes forever to break in and has no sound off the bat so it’s like hitting with a wood bat. Last years 918 had pop out of the wrapper but the 919 doesn’t but will eventually get there. I’m not sure how this bat will hold up in cool weather because the feel out of the wrapper was like hitting with a concreate bat. The bat feels good now after breaking in but I’ve seen bats in the past crack that started out with the same feel as this one so I’m not as confident with the 919 as I would be with others.

Prime 919 Dave D Coach

Pros: I bought this bat for my son who's playing 13u moving up to 14u this August to use with his travel ball team. The goal was to get him swinging a -3 bat now so he's ready when they move up. The feedback from a 13 year old is the bat is solid, no vibration, and has good pop so far. Has not been used in games yet. More feedback to come but so far, we're very happy. My older son swings the 918 Prime and it's a beast and still going strong.

Cons: None so far but time will tell.

Get Pop ForestDad Parent

Pros: I brought the 31 prime for my son who is 12yrs old, but will be 13 soon. I’m a softball player so I made sure I was hitting with my son during bp’s so I would understand what he’s saying and feeling. It took 500+ hits, but the ball rockets off the bat. My son and I love this bat. My son wishes the bat was more balanced, but he hits the ball hard and I make sure he swings the bat daily so he gets used to the weight & the feeling.

Cons: You won’t like this bat if you are not into end loaded bats. Big difference in weight that my son just came out of Majors and Bronco league with USA bats.

Pros: This bat is sick. I hit on the field yesterday and the pop and feel is unreal. I hit with the Cat 8 the few weeks before and hit nothing out during BP but yesterday I hit 3 out with my fresh out of the wrapper 919. It has so much pop out of the wrapper and the feeling when you square it up is unreal. I even hit one out without hitting the sweet spot. I think this is the best Louisville bat yet and I had the 917.

Cons: 917 went dead very early and I’ve read similar stuff on the 919.

Worst Bat we have owned James Ward Parent

Pros: Company sent warranty replacement for last years piece of junk.

Cons: This bat is junk! My son had the 2018 version. When it was broken in, it was great but only lasted about 2 weeks before it died. Sent in, was covered by warranty which was great! Sent me the 2019 version. This bat never broke in. Basically hitting with a piece of cardboard. I’d send this one back too but as a replacement can’t. Nothing but a paperweight now.

Early reviews are wrong Pdiddy Coach

Pros: This bat has ridiculous pop. Take a few hundred swings before reviewing. We have this and the meta on our team and the prime is preferred. Ball jumps as if it’s not a bbcor. Size and bat speed may play a part of you’re finding it to be “popless”. Durability is yet to be determined as we’ve only had it a couple weeks but I had to write a review given all the negative reviews about it not having pop. It’s got amazing pop. And this is coming from a family who only used CF8’s the last several years. We know what pop looks like.

Cons: None at this point

My son loved his 2018 Louisville Prime. How does the 2019 version compare and what are the experts saying about it?
Matt
The 2019 Louisville Slugger Prime 919 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBP919B3 offers VCX Technology at the connection point, which is an improved version of the TRU3 Connection previously featured on the Prime models. The 2019 Louisville Slugger Prime 919 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBP919B3 also features a new end cap to create longer barrel shape and durability, as well as a newly designed Pro Comfort Grip. The Prime 918 was an extremely popular and highly rated bat, so the 2019 model will be every bit of that, if not a little improved.

Are the reviews correct about this bat not having as good of pop as the previous year's model?
Smally
Any reviews pertaining to the 2019 Louisville Slugger Prime 919 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBP919B3 are completely subjective. It would be tough to prove whether or not the performance is better, equal to or worse when compared to the Prime 918 BBCOR.
Cameron
Which bat will have more pop, the 2019 Louisville Slugger Prime 919 or the new 2019 Louisville Slugger Meta Prime?
Baseballguy
With its 100% Composite Microform barrel design, the 2019 Louisville Slugger Prime 919 BBCOR Baseball Bat: (WTLBBP919B3) offers a better design as well as feel with very comparable pops.
Dani B
If my son is 13 years old, would this be appropriate?
Zachary
This 2019 Louisville Slugger Prime 919 BBCOR Baseball Bat (WTLBBP919B3) should work for use by a 13 year old needing a BBCOR rated bat for play. I would ensure that you purchase the correct sizing for your player. My general recommendation for your player would be to get a 31" or 32" BBCOR bat.
Ben
What's the difference between the 918 and the 919?
Jack
The changes that have been made to the 2019 Louisville Slugger Prime 919 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBP919B3 are as follows: (1) New grip (2) New end cap design to allow for a better balance (3) New connection point design.
Dani
Which bat is heavier, the 919 or 918?
Jeff
Both the Prime 918 BBCOR and the Louisville Slugger Prime 919 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBP919B3 will be -3 models and weigh the same weight as a result.
Tyler
What is the difference between the Easton Project 3 ADV and the 919 Meta Prime? What would you recommend for a base hit type of hitter who hits for both average and power? I’m looking for an overall balanced bat.
Philip
The Louisville Slugger Prime 919 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBP919B3 and the Easton Project 3 ADV are both two-piece composite bats with balanced swing weights. As well, both can be used by both contact and power hitters alike. The two bats will feature different composite materials, end cap and connection point but will feature similar performance capabilities.
Cameron
What are some other bats with very similar swing MOI weight and feel as this bat? Son loves the feel and swing weight of this bat but just doesn’t like Louisville Slugger. His all time favorite bat was the 2017 Rawlings Quatro. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
AR Dad
Similar bats to the Louisville Slugger Prime 919 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBP919B3 would be the Easton Ghost X BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB18GX, Rawlings Quatro BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB8Q3, and the DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC19.
Logan
Is this bat legal for little league Majors use?
Joe
To the best of our knowledge, the Louisville Slugger Prime 919 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBP919B3 would not be allowed for Little League Majors. Bats with the BBCOR certification are not allowed until Intermediate (50/70) division of Little League.
Daveron
Where is it manufactured?
T
The Louisville Slugger Prime 919 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBP919B3 is manufactured in China.
Cameron
I have swung both the 919 and 918 and it feels like the 919 is a bit more end-loaded. Is that true?
Chuck
It is not uncommon for someone to feel a newer model of bat has a different swing weight feel compared to a previous version of the same bat. With that being said, we have not heard many hitters comment that the Louisville Slugger Prime 919 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBP919B3 feels more end-loaded compared to the 918 BBCOR.
Cameron
Is there anything on the bottom of the handle (under the grip) that can be removed to create a more thinner feeling grip? I hate the thick tapered feeling of the original grip.
RichGavula
To our knowledge, there is not anything under the Louisville Slugger Prime 919 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBP919B3 grip that could be removed to allow for a thinner handle.
Cameron
My son loves the feel, weight and balance of the Louisville Slugger Solo 617. How would you compare the Solo 617 to the Prime 919?
Ivan
The Louisville Slugger Prime 919 is a balanced bat, but will not be quite as balanced or light-feeling as the Solo 617. It will also have a slightly different feel on contact with a bit more flex since it is a two-piece, full composite design while the Solo 617 is a one-piece, all alloy model with a bit of a stiffer swing feel to it.
Kyle
Would you recommend the Posey28 MCBP28 or the Louisiville Slugger Prime 919?
Jack
If you prefer more flex and vibration dampening in your swing, then the Louisville Slugger Prime 919 will be the way to go. If you like a stiffer feel and slightly more balance, then I would lean towards the Marucci Posey28.
Kyle
What is the most similar bat to this one? I am not allowed to use a bat with the primary color of white.
Zak
The most similar bat to the Louisville Slugger Prime 919 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBP919B3 is going to be the Louisville Slugger Prime BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBP9B320 and has the primary colorway of blue, so you would be able to use it.
Max
If I’m 150 lbs, 6’ and this is my first year using BBCOR, which size is correct for me?
Bill
Per your height and weight, we would recommend getting the Louisville Slugger Prime 919 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBP919B3 in a 32 inch model. If you feel comfortable moving to a 33 inch bat this would better suit your height.
Cameron
What bat is better, the Prime 919 or the 2019 Quatro Pro?
Kade
The Louisville Slugger Prime 919 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBP919B3 features a similar setup to that of the Rawlings Quatro Pro as both bats are two-piece composite models with balanced swing weights. Hard to say if one will offer better performance capability as BBCOR bats are essentially a better version of a wood bat.
Cameron
What bat would you recommend for me? I’m 12 years old, play on an 13u team and we’re only allowed to swing drop five or BBCOR. I swing a drop 5 but it’s light, should I use BBCOR? If so, what bat?
Ben
Using a BBCOR bat now, like the Louisville Slugger Prime 919 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBP919B3, would benefit you more down the road and getting you prepared for high school. The downside of using a BBCOR bat now, when you can still swing a drop 5, is the performance decline. BBCOR bats are close in proximity to a wood bat. As long as you understand this, then using a balanced BBCOR bat, like the Prime 919, would be what we would recommend.
Cameron
Is this bat approved for collegiate NAIA?
Seth
Yes, at this time the Louisville Slugger Prime 919 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBP919B3 will be legal for use in NAIA play.
Max
Is their a break in time? If so, how many swings?
Ben
The Louisville Slugger Prime 919 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBP919B3 will benefit from a break-in period of 150-250 swings. Swing effort would be around 60-70% and would include swings off a tee, soft toss, front side toss, etc. After a round of 10 swings, rotate the barrel a 1/4 turn to help get an even break in across the entirety of the bat.

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
