Description

Louisville Slugger Meta BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2639010

Unlock your potential and reach exit velocities beyond your wildest imagination with Louisville Slugger's latest rendition of the Meta!

Bat Benefits

The Meta from Louisville Slugger is back and once again determined to prove its worth as one of the most sought-after bats in the BBCOR ranks!

This mean-green, hitting machine is constructed in a three-piece, all-composite design and incorporates many of the advanced features that have made the Meta a staple in dugouts around the country!  The first of which is the EKO Composite barrel that offers the great advantage of having a huge barrel length, but also a lightweight swing feel!

To limit sting and vibration, Louisville Slugger equips the Meta with their 3FX-PWR Connection System.  This patented feature works in conjunction with the EKO Composite Gapped barrel to not only boost comfort but it will also transfer explosive energy when you make contact with a baseball!

This drop 3, BBCOR bat will be an excellent choice for both power and contact hitters. The lightweight feel will make it great for the batter who is a contact hitter and needs the bat to help place the ball all over the field in order to be successful. Meanwhile, power hitters will love it as the stiff connection will make them feel as though all of their power is getting put into each and every hit. Lastly, every hitter will love it for the super long barrel length which ultimately leads to a large, explosive sweet spot.

Warranty

Louisville Slugger backs this bat with a one-year warranty against defects and some damages that may occur from routine on-field play. Those damages include broken knobs and cabs, structural damages and severe dents. Louisville may offer a one-time repair or replacement on bats that qualify under this warranty.

Great bat Haxton Mello Player

Pros: I love the feel of it, nice well balanced swing and feels great in your hands. Lots of pop and its just a really beautiful bat.

Cons: It looks really nice but the paint scratches and chips very easily. I don't even know where it came from but there is a big chip in the paint that goes all the way through the coating to the metal. Not a big deal though.

The bat is marked down in price simply because it is a closeout bat from LS at this time and is no longer beholden to LS's MAP pricing.
Cameron
Does it need to be broking in or is it good to go Sean
The composite barrel on the Meta will require a break-in period. Usually 100-200 swings to get to the max exit velos.

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
