Great Bat so far Ct Dawg 13 Coach

Pros: Has a lot of pop right out of the wrapper. My son went from the 2017 Hot CF zen to this one as he is going into high school , and he prefers this bat. His 2017 is a 31 drop 5 and this one is a 32 bbcor and they feel about the same weight. The pop is insane coming off this thing. The only real difference so far is the sound. This one sounds more like wood. It was between this one , the ADV and the prime and his team mates have those but they all use this zen at practice on our travel team

Cons: Hopefully the durability

Pros: This Bat makes it feel like a -5.If you ever hit with hit you will know it feels like the ball goes in the barrel and has a explosive takeoff from the barrel. It is so light way better than any bat on the market and possibly a run for best bat of all time.It goes neck and neck with the cf8.

Cons: Takes A bit to break in.Sounds like wood at start then goes to that sweet demarini ping

Best Composite on the market Shawn Parent

Pros: Great pop out the wrapper and the new handle does a super job of giving feedback so the hitter knows just where they hit the ball. Think this bat is hotter out the box than last years model even when properly broken in.

Cons: Nothing yet.

Best BBCOR bat ever made * Player

Pros: This bat has insane pop, straight out of the wrapper this bat is the hottest bat on the market. The paraflex plus composite is a HUGE bonus to the player. Strongly recommend this bat to any player. Has more pop than the meta prime, 919 prime, cat 8 and any other bat on the market.

Cons: None. It is insane.

Amazing Bat So Far Kole Player

Pros: Had lots of pop out of the gate and doesn't take long to break the bat in. The feel of the bat whenever I swing it feels good and after a while feels just as light as a -5

Cons: Vibrates whenever you hit too far on the end or near the fusion piece, haven't determined if this is because of the bat or the cold weather

SAVE YOUR MONEY Dave Coach

Pros: Great pop on first bats purchased. Ball flies off the bat, but both original and the replacement bat broke before end of spring season. Replacement bats had less pop too, not sure why.

Cons: Bought this BBCOR insane for my HS player and a CF Zen for my youth player. BOTH bats cracked on HRs. Both replaced by DiMarini, BOTH cracked gain!!! About $850 of bat X2 and neither could make it through 1 season! Move on

Great Bat For 14u Major xander zumwalt Player

Pros: great feel the bat flexes like crazy after contact making it the most responsive bat I have swung so far. the pop is similar to the 2018 zen and 2018 Easton ghost, so far it's not the hottest bat I have swung but it's not all the way worked in yet so we'll see more on pop in the future. overall it's a great bat and its most definitely not the last CF ZEN I will own!

Cons: nothing so far!

Great bat but a little pricey Peter Dyer Parent

Pros: Bat has great balance and feel. I bought the bat for my son but I also tried it out so I could understand why this bat is so much more expensive than other bats. It didn't feel as heavy as other drop -3 bats to me and my guess is that it is well balance so it is easier to swing. I was deciding between this bat and the Meta Prime. I am a fan of the De Marini brand and this bat doesn't disappoint. I hit many shots up the middle that just kept travelling up. There were no bloops unless of course I missed under the ball and popped it up. So far, this is a great bat and look forward to seeing my son hit with it this season.

Cons: The price is high but as long as it last until my son's Sophomore season in High School, I will happy.

Have a question about the DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC19? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Is there a break in period for this bat?
Rob
The DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC19 will require a break in period of roughly 150-200 swings.
Max
Do you know when this bat will go down in price?
Blake
Unfortunately, I do not know when the DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC19 will lower in price. However, I would imagine it will not be until next Summer as the new models tend to run at higher prices.
Tyler
Is this bat USSSA approved?
Wdragz40
The DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC19 is actually BBCOR certified. That is the gorverning body that oversees all high school and NCAA baseball. However, most USSSA leagues will allow the use of this model as BBCOR bats will be lower performing than USSSA bats.
Tyler
What's the difference between the CF Zen and the Louisville Slugger Prime 918?
AM8
Both the DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC19 and the Louisville Slugger Prime 918 are very similar balanced bats. The Louisville Slugger has a three-piece bat design and the CF Zen is a two-piece bat.
Tori
Is there a big difference in this bat from last years version?
samuel
The big difference between this DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat (WTDXCBC19) and last year's CF Zen is the new Paraflex Plus composite on this bat.
Ben
Is the 30"/27 oz legal for high school use?
jay
Yes, a 30"/27 oz bat is a -3 drop, so as long as it has the BBCOR certification (which this bat has) it is legal for high school play.
Kyle J.
What bat, the Zen or Insane, for college?
Glennis Weaver
The correct bat will really depend on the style of hitter you are and your personal preference. The DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC19 is balanced and tends to be better suited for contact hitters. The Insane is end loaded and tends to be better suited for power hitters.
Tori
How is the balance?
mike
The DeMarini CF Zen is considered a very balanced model.
Kyle J.
Is this bat safe to break in swinging in the cages off a machine? I know my daughter's softball bat they don't recommend using off a machine. Wanted to know how we break this one in?
Tracy
You wouldn't want to hit any of the rubber dimple balls you often find in coin cages. The best way to break in the DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC19 is to start off hitting off a tee while rotating the bat between swings. Then you'd want to move to soft toss before facing live or pitching machine pitching.
Logan
The CF Zen bat should be used above what temperature?
Soze
The DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC19 is best suited for 70 degrees Fahrenheit or above but could certainly be used in weather that is colder. Once you start getting below 55 degrees then any type of bat could potentially run into issues; this would likely only occur though if a player is consistently playing in this type of weather all season long.
Cameron
Is this bat end loaded or balanced?
Jackie
The DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC19 is a two-piece fully composite bat with a balanced swing weight.
Cameron
Do BBCOR bats need the USA stamp on them?
Eddie Trenkle
Bats like this DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat (WTDXCBC19) will not feature the USA bat stamp on them. In most cases, a BBCOR bat will be allowed in a USA Bat league. However, I would recommend asking the league officials first before making a purchase.
Ben
Is this bat balanced?
Brian
Yes, the DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC19 features a balanced swing weight.
Dani
My son has been using the CFs for three years of high school all at the 33/30 size. He’s now a senior in high school but still only 5 ‘11” 165 lbs. Do you suggest now moving up to the 34/31? Thanks.
Michael Beatrice
Based upon your player's height and weight I would recommend sticking with the 33'' 30 oz in the DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC19. A 34'' model would be a bit too large for a senior of your son's size.
Max
What do people like more the Easton Project 3 ADV or the DeMarini CF Zen?
Ashley
Unfortunately it's a bit early to tell which is the most preferred model since they are still fairly new releases. I think both models will be good performers however, as the CF Zen has been a solid bat for a few years, and the new Project 3 ADV looks very good also.
Kyle J.
Can I get the left handed swinging version of this bat?
Mary O'Cain
This DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat (WTDXCBC19) does not have a specific left-handed or right-handed swinging version. Every one of this CF Zen can be swung by either a right handed of left handed hitter. The only bat on the market right now that has a specific right-handed or left-handed hitting version is the Gattaca from DeMarini. At the time of your question, we are not stocking that Gattaca bat.
Ben
Why is the price so high on your website? A Wilson rep can get this bat for 330.00.
Dale Hall
As an authorized retailer, we are obligated by DeMarini/Wilson to list the DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC19 at their manufacturer suggested retail price until such a time as when they close this bat out. A Wilson rep is not going to be held to this same practice and thus one can typically secure a deal on new released bats through such a rep.
Cameron
Does this bat have as much pop as the Louisville Slugger Meta?
Courtney wade
Because of the BBCOR certification the performance or pop will be very similar with the Louisville Slugger META to the DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC19.
Max
To break in the bat, do I need to be hitting off of real baseballs or will the rubber yellow balls from a pitching machine work?
Kole
To break in the DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC19 I would recommend hitting front toss or off of the tee with real baseballs, approximately 150 hits with every 25 hits turning the bat a quarter of a turn. I would not recommend hitting the DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC19 with yellow balls from machine as they will increase the opportunity that a break will happen. The yellow machine pitch balls are going to be more dense than a regulation baseball and the DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC19 will not be designed for the more dense yellow dimpled balls.
Max
Is this bat available to use in travel ball tournaments like USSSA and Perfect Game?
Mayo
This DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat (WTDXCBC19) should be fine for use in a USSSA or Perfect Game tourney that is permitting use of aluminum or composite bats.
Ben
My son is 5” 95 pounds and going into 7th grade. He needs a -3 for tournaments this fall and middle school ball next year. Would this be a good bat even in cold weather? I am between this one and the cat 8. He has swung both and likes the feel but not sure which to buy. He is a good contact hitter, need something balanced.
Bridget
Both the DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC19 and CAT 8 are good performing balanced bats. For cold weather, we normally recommend using an alloy bat since composite can crack, whereas the alloy will just dent. I would recommend getting the CAT 8 if he often plays in colder temperatures because it is alloy.
Tori
Will the price be lower soon?
Hk
Unfortunately we are not sure as to when the DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC19 may go on closeout.
Cameron
Assume since this is a composite bat, the performance of this bat will degrade at some point?
Shawn
As with any other bat, the performance of the DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC19 will diminish at some point. If the bat is only used for game swings then it would not be surprising to see the bat last for multiple seasons.
Cameron
What’s the difference between a 2 piece and 3 piece?
Ryan
Two-piece bats like the DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC19 and three-piece bats are very comparable. Normally, in three-piece bats, the end cap area is considered the third piece and this is just used to help make the bats more balanced. There really isn't much difference in overall feel when hitting.
Tori
I am going into 7th grade and I need a BBCOR bat for school. Should I get this bat or the DeMarini CF Insane. I am a power hitter, 5’1" and 103 lbs.
Rehaan
The DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC19 is a great two-piece all composite bat with a balanced swing weight. For someone of your height and weight, we would recommend getting this bat rather than the CF Insane. The reason for this is due to the Insane models being end-loaded.
Cameron
Is this a good bat?
John
The DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC19 is an excellent two-piece all composite bat to use. As well, it will feature a balanced swing weight.
Cameron
What are the chances of this bat cracking?
Ned
Since the DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC19 is a composite barrel bat, there is always a chance it could crack. BBCOR bats have thicker barrel walls so they generally hold up better but if it were to crack you could always look into getting the bat replaced by DeMarini if it is still under warranty.
Cameron
is this bat that much better than the VOODOO BBCOR, at a $100 some odd dollars less.
Dan
The potential for performance between this DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat (WTDXCBC19) and the Voodoo BBCOR bat will be the same. Oftentimes, it will just come down to a player deciding if they prefer an aluminum barreled bat (Voodoo) or a composite barreled bat (CF Zen). The higher price-tag on this CF Zen is indicative of the cost of material to build the composite barrel and the labor that goes into the production of the bat. The price does not indicate more performance. [NP]
Ben
Is this bat balanced?
Zachary
The DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC19 will be a two-piece fully composite, balanced model.
Max
Do or will you screen the weights on these bats? I weighed one today and it was a 32 but weighed 30.3 oz
Curt
The industry standard across all bats and across every brand is that its true weight will come in between .5 - 2 ounces heavier than listed. We certainly understand that this can be frustrating.
Daveron
I'm stuck between the two, the Ghost X or this bat.
Jack
Both the DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC19 and the Easton Ghost X BBCOR are two-piece all composite models with balanced swing weights. Which one to use would come down to personal preference as both have received excellent reviews!
Cameron
What would you recommend the Prime 919 or this?
Jack
Both the DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC19 and the LS Prime 919 are excellent two-piece composite bats with balanced swing weights. Which one to get will ultimately boil down to personal preference.
Cameron
If you get it off the handle will the bat break?
Rehaan
If you were to hit a baseball, that had enough velocity behind it, one could break the DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC19 if hitting on the handle of the bat.
Cameron
I am going into middle school and need a BBCOR bat for school ball. What bat (Cf Zen or Cat 8) would you prefer in terms of pop?
Caleb
When looking into a BBCOR bat, there is not going to be one bat that will carry more performance over another. With any BBCOR bat, to generate consistent power one will need to feature an exit velocity of 94 MPH and higher to consistently drive a ball upwards of 335 feet. With that being said, a balanced bat like the DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC19 will certainly aid a swing in an effort to generate the most bat speed possible.
Cameron
I have two questions how many swings does it take to break in and is it end loaded or balanced?
Ben
The DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC19 will feature a balanced swing weight. We recommend about 150 swings off a tee, making sure to rotate the bat a 1/4" turn every ten swings. Then move to soft toss for an additional 50-100 swings at 80 percentage. We recommend this to be done before the bat sees live pitching.
Daveron
I am looking for a BBCOR bat and I am in 13U. Do you recommend this bat?
Ryan Hughes
The DeMarini CF Zen is a very solid BBCOR bat and has been one of the better performing full composite models the last few years.
Kyle
Is the CF Zen comparable to the CF8?
Avery
Both the CF8 and the DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC19 are two-piece composite bats with balanced swing weights. However, the CF Zen will feature a different end cap, taper and connection point design.
Cameron
Is the CF Zen comparable to the CF8?
Avery Miller
The DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC19 is the newer model to the CF8. The DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC19 will be a two-piece, composite model that will be balanced just as the CF8 was. If you are looking for a replacement for the CF8, the DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC19 is what you are looking for.
Max
what are the differences or changes demarini made in the 2020 cf zen, aside from colorway? I've seen a review or 2 that hint that this may be the better bat.
charles cannon
The DeMarini CF BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC20 has a new reaction end cap that increases barrell performance without sacrificing swing speeds.
Patrick
What bat would you recommend: this CF Zen or the Select 719?
Raul
Both models would be an excellent choice in my opinion. If you want a slightly more end-loaded feel to your bat, go with the Select 719. If you want a more balanced feel, consider the CF Zen.
Kyle
I like this bat but the only con is that many people say that this bat could crack easily. What can I do to not let this happen?
Yariel
You can never 100% prevent the risk of durability issues, but there are some precautions that can help. Try to rotate the bat slightly each swing, so that you do not wear out one spot on the barrel more than any other. Avoid hitting the dimpled batting cage balls, as they can put extra stress on a bat as well. If possible, try not to use a composite bat like this under roughly 45 degree temperatures either.
Kyle
When will you be getting a 33 inch in
Gio
It's hard to say when we will get that size in, but you are able to sign up for alerts once we have this bat in stock.

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
