Bat Review: 2019 Louisville Slugger Prime 919 Bat

When Louisville Slugger debuted the Prime 915 in 2015, Perfect Game officials conducted a blind test of the Prime 915 and Easton MAKO BBCOR bats.

The results were that 26 of the 30 players preferred the Prime 915. Ever since then, the Prime series has been a popular baseball bat for Louisville Slugger. JustBats.com received information regarding the much-anticipated 2019 Louisville Slugger Prime 919 bats and here's what we found.

For the 2019 lineup, Louisville Slugger will have three (3) different types of Prime 919 bats:

• BBCOR
• Senior League | USSSA Baseball
• USA Baseball

All of these bats will be balanced with some slight differences based on each category. Let's review.

2019 Louisville Slugger Prime 919 BBCOR Bat

BBCOR bats | Louisville Slugger bats

This bat will be a drop 3 baseball bat that will be available in four size options: [31"/28], [32"/29], [33"/30], [34"/31]. As it's a premier bat, the price point will be around $400 retail and the barrel length will be 2 5/8". Other key features of the Prime 919 BBCOR model:

• 3-piece composite will use the MicroForm barrel design for a lighter swing weight and maximum pop.
• Patented VCX technology allows for independent movement between the barrel and the handle that controls vibration.
• RTX end cap design maximizes the barrel shape and improves sound on contact.
• NEW LS Pro comfort grip provides the perfect mix of tack and cushion.
• Handle ... 31/32" tapered handle.

2019 Louisville Slugger Prime 919 Senior League Bat

USSSA Baseball bats | Louisville Slugger bats

This bat will come in three different drops, including (-10), (-8), and (-5). The price point will be around $300 retail and the barrel length will be 2 3/4". All three drops will come in varying size options. Other key features of the Prime 919 Senior League models:

• 3-piece composite uses the NEW ADV microform that maximizes barrel size while maintaining maximum performance and pop on contact.
• Patented VCX technology allows for independent movement between the barrel and the handle that provides unmatched feel on contact.
• NEW (SBC) Speed Ballistic Composite end cap allows for increased swing speed and maximum control.
• NEW LS Pro comfort grip provides the perfect mix of tack and cushion.
• Handle ... 7/8" tapered handle.

2019 Louisville Slugger Prime 919 USA Baseball Bat

USA Baseball bats | Louisville Slugger bats

This bat will be a drop 10 baseball bat that will be available in five size options: [28"/18], [29"/19], [30"/20], [31"/21], [32"/22]. Starting at a $350 price point, this bat will feature a 2 5/8" barrel. Other key features of the Prime 919 USA Baseball models:

• 3-piece composite uses the NEW ADV microform that maximizes barrel size while maintaining maximum performance and pop.
• Patented VCX technology allows for independent movement between the barrel and the handle that provides unmatched feel on contact.
