Pros: My level of play is a high level wood bat only Semi-Pro League. This bat is the best I have ever used. I have been using a Marucci Chase Utley model and own a Marucci Pujols bat as well. The Mike Trout Old Hickory has more pop than both and is by far the most balanced bat I have ever used. The ball jumps off the bat and has a huge sweet spot.
Cons: None!
Pros: This bat has an excellent feel to it. The C243 cut traditionally has a power hitter's end load and it feels particularly good on this bat. The quality of the bat feels professional grade and the durability seems to prove the quality true. It has outstanding pop as the ball jumps off the sweet spot. When you square a fastball with this bat, you get that feeling you just did damage. As a fan of Marucci, Sam Bat and Louisville Slugger, I was more than pleasantly surprised to see Old Hickory produce such a quality product. If you understand the difference between quality wood bats and cheap ones, you already understand that these bats cost a decent chunk of change. You get what you pay for here. It's clear to me why this brand is becoming popular among many professional hitters. I'll be purchasing another soon.
Cons: If you can't hit with this bat, it's not the bat, it's you.
Pros: I got this bat straight from Old Hickory for Christmas. I have used both the Marrucci Utley and Pujols models but find that they broke fairly quickly. This bat however, seems to be durable and has great feel. Extremely well balanced.
Cons: Can't find a single con. If you can't hit well with this than you can't hit.
Pros: If you know how to hit with a strong good swing, then this bat is the best I've had it for 2 YEARS and I never broke. And if you know me my average of hitting is 300-250 feet and I'm a hard hitter. But it never broke and the Mike Trout model is great for a strong person it's a little heavy for me on the barrel BUT STILL 10/10.Its only heavy with no batting gloves.
Cons: Just like I said in the pros it a little heavy but if you have batting gloves it's not a problem.
Pros: excellent pop, weight, and balance. this maple bat is as hard as a bamboo bat with a wider sweet spot. I own several types of bats and this is my favorite one; the rawlings velo is very similar to this bat in performance and durability.
Cons: Expensive for a wood bat.
Pros: Very balanced, great pop of the bat. It is one of the best bats i have ever used! I've been using them for two years now....Everything is great about this bat! besides one thing.....
Cons: They break very easily! if you dont get barrel then they break! i Started this season with 8 of them and 6 have broke! we have only played 20 games! 130$ for each bat, and they all broke im down to two bats. And they will prob both break before the season is over! Theres no warranty!
Pros: Broke another bat that i had used this bat for the first time today. Hit a homerun with it. great balance great pop. just an overall great bat. couple of my teammates have had this bat for over a year now and haven't broken it yet. by far the best bat out there
Cons: None.
Pros: The bat hit well, great sweet spot.
Cons: Bat broke within 3 weeks of getting it and the hit that broke it was on the barrel of the bat. I would not buy this bat again, there is a reason why they do not warrenty it!
Pros: this bat is unbeleivable, i reveived this bat a couple months ago so i waited to post a review until i could see the durability and to this day it still is as good ss rhe day i bought it. it is perfectly balanced wirh loads of pop and a massive sweet spot and it looks good too. so if ur thinking about buying a wood bat this would be a great bat to consider!
Cons:
Pros: balanced, smooth through the zone.
Cons: anyone who hits primarly with wood knows some bats miss the mark. i unfortunatley recieved a soft bat. no pop what so ever. i was dissapointed, but it happens. end of the bat chipped off from tossing it after a single (explains the durability rating). this bat peaked my intrest, tried it, and wasnt for me at the end of the day. definitley sticking prefer marucci, dinger, or victus.
Pros: Nice balance.
Cons: Sounded strange from the very first hit. Seriously took less than 200 swings and it broke in less than a week. Never had a cracked bat in less than a week. Company has no warranty even when explained that it sounded strange from first hit.
Pros: My son started swinging wooden bat at Perfect Game tournament and showcases about 9 months ago. He has a Marucci Pujois model. He hit ok on a scale of 1-10 he was a 5. With his BBCOR bat he was a high 8. He had the Old Hickory bat on display because we are from CA and likes Trout. 2 months ago being a little frustrated with hitting wood he pulled the bat down and gave it a try. He was still smashing with his BBCOR bat. Low and behold he started smashing with the Old Hickory. Same size as the Marucci 33' about 20ft-30ft longer more pop off the bat. Granted there are kids on are team who use the Marucci and smash. He likes the bat hit a HR in AZ this last weekend with it. I didn't think there was much of a difference with maple wood bats but now I believe there is.
Cons: Stings on miss hit added a bat grip helped out a lot
Pros: Feels good. Nice pop.
Cons: Durability is horrible. Second Old Hickory that just doesn’t hold up. Arenado model made it three tournaments. This one made it 3 games into the first tourney. Ready to switch bat companies unfortunately.
