The main difference, aside from the woods they are composed of, is that the MT27M has a medium taper and long barrel that give it a slightly end loaded feel. There is not necessarily a rule. We have a sizing chart but ultimately it is what the player feels comfortable with. At 6'4" our sizing chart would put him in a 34" but if he feels comfortable with a 33" that is fine.
