Description

After years of overwhelming performance and glowing reviews, the Miken Freak has established itself as a household name in baseball and slow pitch softball circles. This year, for the first time ever, Miken introduces the Freak to fastpitch softball! There is no doubt that this will be THE fastpitch bat to own this season. The Freak FX700 is a 100% composite bat constructed with some of the most innovative technology on the market. The Freak starts out with Miken's R900 Carbon Fiber that provides 38.8% higher tensile strength and 40% higher elongation than the industry standard. This composite material is proven to endure grueling play and deliver unrivaled durability. The barrel is enhanced with Durashell Technology (DST) which acts as a composite shield on the outer shell, maximizing performance right out of the wrapper. Inside the barrel, Miken uses HBF Technology to create a multi-layer wall that is 100% "fully released" for extreme hot-out-of-the-wrapper play. Furthermore, the proprietary layering of these walls extends the barrel flex which results in a 20% larger sweetspot! This hitting surface is then perfected using Miken's Advanced Inner Flex Technology that delivers precisely calibrated handle flex and energy transfer to optimize barrel rebound. For the player this means maximum trampoline effect, maximum ball speed and maximum distance! The Freak is finished off with an Extreme X-Tack grip that gives players the optimal amount of tack for true comfort and bat control. Miken: Elite Equipment for the Elite Player! The Freak FX700 comes with a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: Best bat I have ever used. The ball flies off this bat. If you are looking for a bat with lots of pop then you found it in this Miken Freak Fx700. The gripe and weight ratio is excellent.

Cons: None so far.

Softball Dad

Pros: Great Bat! Has plenty of pop. Hot out of the wrapper. Light bat so your daughter will turn on a fastball and light enough to adjust her swing on a change up.

Cons: Price is up there but worth it in my opinion.

Pros: My 13 yr old has struggled with hitting for past 2 seasons, no real confidence. Good thing she is awesome pitcher. Bought this bat hoping to see some results-since it was suppose to be hot out the wrapper. Well, it is exactly that! So proud of her, she has really been smokin that ball to the outfield. Amazing. Her confidence is back, any bat that can do that is well worth it!! Never had a better bat, and we have been through some bats! Another teammate bought one too, and loves it!

Cons: None so far. Other than other teammate

13's Dad

Pros:

Cons: My 11 year old daughter is on her second Freak Light. The first one broke appox 6 inches from the knob. This was the first time the bat was used and my daughter had only had it for a week. First at bat of the first game of a tournament. Miken made good and overnighted a replacement once they received the broken bat. My daughter has been using the replacement and complains of alot of vibration. I had another one of her team mates hit with it with the same results. Not real happy with this bat.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Miken Freak Fastpitch Softball Bat: FPFX12? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

My daughter is 9 years old and is strong for her age. She is 5 ft and 120 pounds. Do you think she could handle 19 ounces? She is using 18 now, if so would you recommend the Miken or Anderson 30inch 19 ounce bat? morgan
This is a great link that we have the helps decide what length and weight that someone should use and what type of bat; http://www.justbats.com/bat.wizard.aspx This bat has very large sweet spot and good pop. I recommend moving to a 19 ounce as this well help make her stronger and improve her game as she gets older.
Brett
Is the weight of this bat balanced (evenly distributed) or is it 'weighted' in the end? My daughter prefers a balanced bat. She is not a power hitter and is a bit small for 12. We are considering this bat because of the option of 31" at 19 oz., one piece construction. MomC
The FPFX12 has a balanced swing weight and will be a great bat for your daughter. This bat has great pop and a large sweet spot.
lkh
Is this bat now or will it be illegal for use in any of the sanctioned fastpitch softball leagues? fpdad
With leagues and governing bodies changing rules constantly, it is hard to say with 100% certainty, BUT this bat has the USSSA 1.20 BPF stamp and the most recent info we have been given is, that stamp is required.
Linda
I have read a lot about "pop" off the bat in reviews of Fastpitch bats. How is the "pop" off of the Miken Freak FPFX12 compared to other composites? fpdad
Miken has dominated the market in the field of Slow Pitch softball for years, and since going into Fastpitch, they are still on top of their game. All composites do require a break in period to reach their maximum performance level, but the pop once broken in is so worth it.
Linda
I'm stuck between the Miken Freak and the Anderson Nanotech, any suggestions? Barry
Both are great bats and are going to be high performing. Generally composite barrel bats will outperform alloy barrel bats once they are broken in. The FPFX12 has a composite barrel and has great pop.
John
How does this bat rate compared to the new Miken NXT Light? Roll Tide
The NXT light will have a slightly lighter swing weight than the FPFX12. Both bats will have great pop and a large sweet spot.
Tyler
Can you advice between this bat and the Combat Lisa Fernandez -12? I am stuck between the two and cannot decide one way or the other. Thanks! Joe
The Miken Freak is made of a higher quality composite and will have a little better performance and durability.

About the Brand

During the past few years, serious softball players have looked to Miken Sports for bats that provide the highest levels of performance and durability. Our relentless focus on both technology and the demands of players has made Miken the most demanded line of softball bats today.

Although composites are the latest trend in softball bats, the technology has been the core of Miken's success since the company's inception. Miken pioneered the modern high-performance composite softball bat in 1998 and has pushed the limits with every model since. No other bat company has driven innovation as hard, and the results are indisputable. Look around. If a player is serious about softball, they are most likely swinging a Miken bat.

The success of Miken Sports has been driven by two forces - innovation and a passion for delivering what players demand. The results are obvious. Players have decided that composites are the future for bats, and no one does composite like Miken.
