The CAT series of bats from Marucci has had an undeniable effect upon the world of BBCOR baseball. And this exclusive colorway of the CAT9 model will continue making an imprint on the game.
Marucci outfits the bat with AZR alloy that will go through a 3-stage thermal treatment process. The end result of that process is a BBCOR bat that has a better feel, more forgiveness and more performance. In addition to that alloy material, they also put a Longitudinal Groove System (LGS) within the barrel of the bat. That LGS technology should lighten up the feel of the and allow for more bat flexibility when contacting a baseball. And don't forget about the AV2 Anti-Vibration knob. Marucci's knob technology ushered in the era of 1-piece bats that don't sting a player's hands. This bat will be undeniably comfortable due to the presence of that anti-vibration knob.
A big thing to note is going to be the overall feel. Most players will probably find the bat to be fairly balanced. However, there will be some players that do sense a bit of an end-load to the bat. Overall, we think that this bat can be used by both contact and power hitters, but be sure to know that you may feel a little extra heft when swinging it.

I have heard the pastime bbcor Cat 9 has better pop than the regular Cat 9 but I have also heard it is the exact same bat just different paint job. Is there a difference between these bats other than colors? Looks like there is 3 options for the exact same bat just the color scheme is different. Could someone please clarify? Thanks! Lee
