Description

Take your game to the next level with the new and improved Marucci bat lineup. One of the main differences from the CAT 7 is the new and improved AZ105 Alloy, the strongest aluminum on the Marucci bat line, allows for thinner barrel walls, a higher response rate and better durability. Its 2 5/8-inch barrel provides an expanded sweet spot for more base hits. Another upgrade for the lineup is the 2nd Generation AV2 Anti-Vibration Knob that features a harmonic dampening system for better feel and less negative vibrational feedback. Marucci Sports: Honor the Game.

This Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR (MCBC8) baseball bat features a -3 length to weight ratio and a 2 5/8 inch ring-free barrel construction, important for increased barrel flex and reducing the likelihood of dead spots, so every ball you hit can travel high and far. The barrel is also precision-balanced for a lower M.O.I, resulting in a lighter feel as you swing and giving you better precision and control. Its one-piece alloy construction provides a clean, consistent swing, and the tapered handle with its soft-touch grip is topped with an ergonomic knob shape for more top-hand control and comfort while you're at the plate. This bat is BBCOR certified for high school and collegiate baseball play, and it comes with free shipping and a full one-year manufacturer's warranty. Cat8 brought us back K. M. parent

Pros: My son, 15, was a huge Cat6 fan but went away from when they made changes in the Cat7. When the Cat8 came out he demoed it and the smile on his face said it all. Great balance and tons of pop. I do a ton of research on bats and he has tried everything from the Velo to the Mako Beast, to the 918. This bat is the best on the market.

Cons: Absolutely nothing.

Great Bat Caden M player

Pros: More balanced than the Cat7 with more pop. Quick through the zone with great control and tons of pop. The Cat8 will be the best Marucci as put out. We are very picky about bats and don't care about looks, only performance. This bat has it all. Don't get caught up in price, this is the best bat in our tests in our families batting cage, including the Velo, Mako and 918. All great bats, but the Cat8 performed the best.

Cons: Nothing.

Great pop, finish is not durable Devin parent

Pros: Bat has the distinctive Marucci sound Large sweet spot Well balanced

Cons: Has a matte finish, unlike the previous Cat 7's glossy finish. This finish/paint is not as durable. This new bat already has a scratch down to the metal through the paint. Owned a Cat 7 for more than a year and it doesn't have any scratches down to the metal even though it's been used for thousands of cuts.

Glad we chose the Cat 8 Matt Mudrey parent

Pros: My son is 14 using his first drop 3. We had Maruccis in the past and loved them, but had to go a year without one this past season due to the USA stamp requirements. He absolutely loves the Cat 8. The ball jumps of the bat and is well balanced. He is glad to be using a Marucci again!

Pros: I know now why all these high school players are swinging Marucci bats. I have always been an Easton guy, but decided to see what all the fuss is about. This bat has great pop and feel and is well balanced with a nice look. Only had for about a month so not sure on durability at this point.

Pros: Hot bat and just keeps getting hotter. Bought this for my son and first day out I thought don’t seem much better than his Easton but within a week I thought there it is. My boy has always been a marucci lover but we swayed to Easton and have came back and so far am very happy we did.

Great Stick Keith Coach

Pros: Pop, balance, sweet spot. We noticed right away a larger sweet spot with this bat. It was expanded quite a bit from other bats he has used. Balls fly off this thing with higher velocity. My son is 13 years old, 120 lbs and swings the 32/29. I pitch to him from behind a screen and we both noticed higher velocity of balls off the bat after just a few swings. This is his 2nd Marucci and he loves it. Based on the use from his Cat 7, we do expect to see a full season 6 -8 months of use. After that time, he will have literally out grown the bat. Use the available charts and swing one to get the right size that still has room for growth. As a parent, you should hear the air moving when your kid swings (swinging correctly). Hope this helps with your next bat selection. We have bought several times from Just Bats & have been very pleased with their delivery and will be back.

Great bat as always Brian Parent

Pros: Great bat. Son really liked the Cat 6 and 7. Had to move up to BBCOR for summer ball. He is on the smaller size so going from drop 5 to 3 took a little getting used too. Having played with the 6 and 7 already did help and so far he really likes the feel. He has even made statement that we won't have to get a new bat for a while.

great bat! Coach/Parent Parent

Pros: My son tested the bat at the local demo day and loved it, but I knew nothing about Marucci or the Cat8. I researched and found that the cat6 and cat7 did very well. He used a Demarini CF8 in little league and we loved the power and pop of that bat. After his 5th homerun as an 11 year old moving up the whole team was using it. So the Cat8 had big shoes to fill and boy did it. The pop of this bat is fantastic. He even hit a homerun over a 270 feet & 6 foot tall fence. The bat even looks good.

Cons: Kids on the team complained about the loud ping the bat makes during contact at the indoor practices before the season.

Nice Bat - first time BBCOR owner Chris Coach

Pros: My son is 13. He likes the grip- it's a thicker grip and feels different. Absolutely crushing his first few balls off it in games. Have only owned it a few weeks.

Cons: It's not really a Con but if you are used to a drop -10 and you move to this drop -3 you need to be ready and have the strength to do it.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Marucci CAT8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

How does this bat compare to the Cat 7? How dramatic are the improvements? coach rg
The AZ105 alloy is stronger than the AZ4X on the Cat 7, allowing the Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 to have thinner walls off the sweet spot creating more forgiving areas and higher performance even when contact is made off the sweet spot. The Cat 8 also offers 8 variables of wall thickness compared to the 7 variables of wall thickness on the Cat 7.
Logan
How does the CAT 8 compare to the CAT 7 as far as end load or balanced feel? John 5
Although we have not had a chance to get a feel for the Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 we would imagine the swing weight feel would be more balanced than the CAT 7 due to the improvements that have been made.
Cameron
What is the drop on this bat? Landry
The Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 will have a drop 3. All BBCOR certified bats will be -3.
Daveron
Which bat is better for BBCOR, is it the Cat 8 or the Cat 8 Connect? Kelly
Both bats are great BBCOR options. The Marucci CAT 8 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC8 is a two-piece hybrid with an end-loaded feel. This is a good option for a player that needs a little flex in their bat. In contrast, the Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 is a one piece alloy with a balanced swing weight. Power hitters tend to have success with the stiffer one piece alloy bats. Depending on your player's preference, they could find success with either option.
Daveron
Is this an end loaded bat? Or is the Connect the end loaded one? What size for a 5"6", 115 lb player, 14u? jc
The Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 is a one-piece all alloy model featuring a balanced swing weight while the Marucci CAT 8 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC8 is a hybrid design (alloy barrel and composite handle) with an end-loaded swing weight. As for size to get, based on the player's height, weight and age we would recommend a 30 inch model.
Cameron
How does the Cat 8 Connect compare to the Cat 7 Connect? Are both end loaded? Rob
The Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 is comparable to the CAT 7 as far as feel and performance. They are more of a balanced than end loaded bat. The CAT 8 features the new AZ105 alloy to help make it more durable.
Tori
Is this bat USSSA approved? Jimmy Baseball
No, the Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 is BBCOR approved.
Logan
I was about to order this bat for my son and noticed the response to a previous question was that the bat is not USSSA approved. Is the bat a qualified BBCOR bat that can be used in 14u USSSA tournaments? Rnixon
The Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 is BBCOR certified which is a higher standard than USSSA and therefore will be allowed for all 14u USSSA baseball
Tyler
Is an aluminum or composite bat better for my son who is 5'5" 115 lbs? What are the pros or cons? John A
Traditionally speaking, aluminum provides a stiffer, yet higher conduction of vibrations, upon contact. This has favored power hitters. Composite flexes more on contact and dampens the vibrations, for a more comfortable bat. This model, the Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 is a one piece aluminum bat that will provide high levels of power on contact and uniquely offers a vibration dampening knob for a very comfortable feel at the plate. I would recommend this model for any size or type of hitter.
Tyler
Is there any break in required? Ec23
The Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC8) will be game-ready right out of the wrapper.
John
Is the Marucci CAT 8 USSSA approved? 23dinger
The Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball (MCBC8) features the BBCOR .50 stamp. For USSSA play they will require the USSSA BPF 1.15 stamp OR the BBCOR .50 stamp so this model will be approved for play.
John
My son is turning 13 in a few weeks. He just finished Little League and is going into Babe Ruth where the bat requirement is either a USA bat or BBCOR (.50 BPF and 2 5/8' barrel). Does this bat meet that requirement? He is 5'8" and weighs 130 pounds. bmom
The Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC8) would be allowed in the Babe Ruth league as it features a 2 5/8" barrel and is BBCOR-certified. Based on your player's height and weight, I would recommend this bat in either a 31" or 32." He might be more comfortable with the 31" bat this season but the 32" would give him room to keep growing.
Taylor
My son is 14 years old, 5'7" and weighs 127 lbs (freshman in high school). He is a multi-athlete in baseball and football, gets stronger everyday and of course still growing. He says this size bat is most comfortable for him to hold and swing. With this being a drop 3, is it USSSA certified for Triple A travel baseball? needs help
The Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 in a -3 length to weight ratio would be legal for USSSA Triple A travel baseball.
Max
With this being a BBCOR bat, this is certified in Babe Ruth 13-15 division and NFHS/Junior High Correct? Big Tasty
That is correct, the Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 is legal for use in Babe Ruth 13-15 and NFHS/Junior High.
Cameron
My son turned 13 in June. He is 5'6" and weighs 145 lbs. He has been using 31" for a year. Should we go for 32" at this point? Humberto
I would not recommend doing so at this point in time. I played at 5'9" and swung a 31" bat myself. It comes down to player preference but I would not increase bat size just to increase bat size. However, if you were wanting to go up to 32" then I would recommend something like this Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 because of how balanced the swing weight is.
Tyler
What the difference in the Cat 7 and Cat 8? I had the Cat 6 and am looking to move up. Wet
The Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 utilizes a stronger, more consistent alloy than the previous Cat 7 models. Furthermore, they have upgrade the standard grip tape to provide better overall bat control.
Tyler
My son is 10 and stands 4'6" and weighs 86 pounds. He will be playing with an 11U team this fall and looking to upgrade his 27" CAT 7. What length and brand of bat should he go to? JaysDad
The Marucci Cat 8 line is one of, if not the premiere bat lines currently. You would not want to go with this Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 as it is intended to be used by high school and college players. Instead, I would recommend the Marucci CAT 8 -10 USSSA Baseball Bat: MSBC810.
Tyler
Is there a break-in period for this bat? Sully
Nope. The Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 utilizes AZ105 Alloy that will come "Hot out of the Wrapper!"
Tyler
My son is 12, 5’3" tall and weighs about 110 lbs. He plays on a 13U 50/70 Little League team, and we are looking for 2 5/8" BBCOR, but they are -3 for high school and not approved for 50/70 and juniors. Gabe
BBCOR bats are allowed in the 50/70 Intermediate/Junior Leagues for Little League. You can find the bat rules and regulations for each division here: https://www.littleleague.org/playing-rules/bat-rules/.
Kyle J.
I meant BBCOR is approved for 50/70 and junior. My question is will this bat be too heavy for him especially since drop 3 is for high school students? Gabe
It certainly could be, but that's somewhat impossible for us to know since we can't know the strength of the player, the efficiency of his swing, etc. You want to swing the heaviest bat you can while still maintaining good bat speed and control, as the heavier weight provides more pop. Generally though we don't recommend BBCOR bats unless you are required to use them, as USSSA bats (-5, -8, -10 with the stamp) have more pop than BBCOR models due to looser regulations on ball exit speed.
Kyle J.
My 14 year old son is 5'9" and still growing. He's about 120 lbs. He's had a 31" bat for a couple of years. Does he need to move up to a 32" bat now? TN_Whit
Based on his height and weight, our general recommendation would be for a 32" size of this Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC8). However, if he has swung a 31" bat already for a few years, the move to a 32" bat would highly advisable if you think he can handle the 29 oz weight.
Ben
My son will be 14 in the spring. He used a 31"/21 oz last spring as a 13 year old. He is a lead off hitter who hits for contact. Right now he is about 5'3" and 110 lbs, so not a real big kid. Would a 31"/28 oz Marucci Cat 8 be a good bat for a player like him transitioning into BBCOR bats? Scott
Yes, the Marucci Cat 8 is a very good model, and is considered a balanced bat with an even weight distribution. Any balanced model will be a good option for players new to using the heavier, BBCOR bats.
Kyle J.
My son liked the CAT 6 and didn't feel like the CAT 7 had as much pop or as big of a sweet spot. What have you heard about the pop and sweet spot on the CAT 8? Casey
With the BBCOR certification it can be difficult for one of the bats to have higher performance or pop than the rest. It is better determined by if the bat will feel the best to your hitter. So far the Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 reviews have been positive with the new AZ105 Alloy, which is the strongest alloy out of the Marucci CAT series. From what we have heard the sweet spot is large, similar to the CAT 6.
Max
What bat is lighter: the Louisville Slugger Solo 619 or the Marucci Cat 8? Daniel
I think that this Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC8) and the Solo 619 both feel very balanced when swung. However, the Solo 619 does have the composite end-cap on it that is designed specially to make a bat feel lighter in a player's hands. There is probably not a 100% answer one way or the other (just know that both bats will feel lite delivery great performance).
Ben
My grandson will be playing 14 year old and under next year, he is 5 ft 10 and weighs 180. Is the Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR legal and what size do you recommend? Ron Coleman
The Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 will be legal and I would recommend going with a 32'' 29 oz model based upon his height and weight.
Max
To what other BBCOR bats does this bat compare? Tanner Cantwell
In regard to having the same design, an extremely balanced feel and and great customer reviews; I would compare this Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC8) to the Louisville Slugger Omaha 518 BBCOR Baseball Bat (WTLBBO518B3). Both are one-piece, all-aluminum; both have a balanced feel and both bats get solid ratings from JustBats.com customers!
Ben
Is this bat legal for Pony league? Jeff Hayes
Yes, this Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC8) will be legal for use in Pony Baseball at any division of play.
Ben
Is the BBCOR Marrucci Cat 8 balanced or enloaded? peter
The Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 will be a balanced model.
Max
Can this bat be used in USSSA 14U baseball? Karen
It most likely can, since a BBCOR bat will not have the same pop and performance as a USSSA model. However, rules vary depending on where you are in the country when it comes to ages 13-14 and middle school, so I would contact your coach or tournament official for more clarification however.
Kyle J.
My little brother is about to turn 13 and in 7th grade. I want him to start swinging BBCOR. Is this a good bat to start him with? Ricks
The Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 would be a great bat to start your little brother with because of the balanced light weight feel.
Max
I am a middle school player who is 5'4", 120 pounds. What length of this bat should I use? Elijah
Per your height and weight, we would recommend getting the Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 in a 30 inch model.
Cameron
I am 5'10"/5'11" and 180 lbs. What size BBCOR Cat 8 should I get? Jackson
Based on your height and weight, I would recommend getting the Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 in a 33''.
Tori
I am 13, 5’11, and 190 and play 4 sports and I have used a 31 because it’s been the most comfortable for me. Should I move up to a 32 in at this point? Ayden Chabak
With the size specs provided, we would suggest at least a 32" or even a 33" option of the Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8. A player of your age will only continue to get stronger.
Daveron
My 14 year old son is just north of 5'10" tall, weighs 165 lbs and is playing for a club team and also the local Babe Ruth League (will be in High school next year). Doctor stated he will most likely be around 6'-2" when he stops growing (size 12 foot). He started swinging the Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR MCBC8 at the club and loves it. Is this bat acceptable for play in Babe Ruth? High School? He is looking at the 32" length. His avg. swing speed is fast and was measured at just over 70 sometimes reaching upwards of 75. (he is as strong as an ox). His hitting coach (who I like) states no one should be swinging anything longer than a 32 (I tend to agree) but would love another expert opinion. He could be more consistent with making contact but when he does he sends it. Thanks, Mark Mark Ventura
Mark, thanks for the questions. I'll try and answer them all for you. 1) As for if the bat is legal for Babe Ruth, according to the Babe Ruth website with a quick Google search, it appears that Babe Ruth allows BBCOR for ages 13+. You should be ok, but may want to check with your coach or league commissioner for more clarification. 2) As for size, I respectfully disagree with the idea that no one should ever use above a 32" bat length, although that sounds like a good size for your son right now. In my opinion if your son does grow to be 6'2" tall and say, 200 lbs or so when he fully matures, he most certainly could use a 33", 33.5", or even a 34" length at that time, depending on his own strength and personal preference.
Kyle J.
The CAT 8 is an upgrade from the CAT 7. Is the upgraded performance worth an extra $100? My son is 16 and 5'8" and 160 lbs. Hit 3 homers last year using CF Zen. Really liking what I'm seeing and hearing on the Marucci line and trying to decide on CAT 7 or CAT 8. Brian
Both the Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 and the CAT 7 are great bats to consider for BBCOR models. Whether or not to spend the extra money to get the CAT 8 would be more up to one's personal opinion on whether the bat will offer a significant advantage in terms of performance. In our opinion, one cannot go wrong getting either model.
Cameron
My son is 13yrs old 6'0 and 130lbs. He is interested in the Cat8. What size and weight is best for him? baseball dad 215
Based on your player's specifications, I would recommend either a 32" or 33" version of this Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8.
Tyler

Ben

Unfortunately we are not aware of what the swing weight of the Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 would be.
Cameron
Is it end loaded? jason mogensen
No, the Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 is a balanced model suited for both power and contact hitters.
Tyler
My son is 13 yrs old and 4ft 11 in., 95 lbs and a 7th grader. He currently has a drop 5, 31 inch. Would you recommend a 31 inch Cat 8? Jc
With the player specs listed, we would suggest staying with the 31" option of the Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8. He will have to adjust to the heavier weight of the -3 BBCOR, that player height and weight would keep him at 31 inches.
Daveron
I was wondering what bat would be best for me this year. It would be a 32 inch BBCOR, preferably one piece aluminum because I play in the midwest where half of the time it’s crummy weather. Preston
The Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 has been our most popular and highest rated one piece alloy bat since its release, so this would be my suggestion for you.
Logan
Does it last a long time? I’m not trying to spend money on another bat that doesn’t last long. Logan
The Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 rates very well in terms of durability. All indications are that the Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 will last as long or longer than any other bat on the market.
Logan
I saw in the swing weight comparisons that the Cat 8 Connect had the highest swing weight. How does the one piece Cat 8 compare with swing weight? Anthony
The Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 offers a more balanced, lighter swing weight than the Marucci CAT 8 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC8.
Logan
How does this bat compare to an Easton Z-Core Speed as far as "pop"? ben
The Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 will be very similar to the Z-Core Speed in terms of performance because each are held to the same BBCOR certification thresholds. The Cat 8 will likely be a more consistent model on contact though.
Tyler
My son is 13, 5’7” and weighs 175. He hits for power and has been swinging a 32” model 271 wood bat for over a year already. Is he better off going with the CAT 8 or CAT 8 Connect? How big is the difference with the end weighting on the Connect? Jason
Whether or not to use the Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 or the Connect essentially comes down to personal preference. A 271 wood bat is going to be one of the best balanced wood bats on the market and would compare more favorably to the Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8. If going with the Connect, one may lost 3-6 MPH of exit velocity due to the flex one gets on a two-piece bat.
Cameron
What's the difference in the two-piece Cat 8 Connect, besides the higher cost? Cathleen
The Cat 8 Connect will feature the two-piece design to reduce vibration along with the composite handle. A two-piece design also offers a bit more flex in the swing.
Kyle
Whats the the difference between the MCBCC8 and MCBC8-Marucci CAT8? Rick
The difference between the Cat Connect BBCOR model and the Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 will be in their constructions. While both have alloy barrels, the Cat Connect will have a composite handle to limit vibrations.
Tyler
Does this bat have the USSSA label? Mickie koch
The Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 will have the BBCOR certification stamp, so it will not have the USSSA stamp. However, most USSSA tournaments will allow the use of BBCOR bats.
Logan
Is their any difference in the bat sting comparing Cat 7 to Cat 8? Michael
In our opinion, there is not going to be a major difference in vibration between the CAT 7 and the Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8.
Cameron
Difference between this and the Connect version? Chris
The Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC8) features a one-piece all alloy design with a balanced swing weight. The Marucci CAT 8 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBCC8) will feature an alloy barrel and a composite handle. The Connect will feature an end loaded swing weight which is generally preferred by power hitters.
John
What’s the difference between this Marucci Cat 8 and the CAT 8 Connect? I can see the two piece visually but what does the connector do? Will the flex affect your swing? Stephen DiNicola
Two-piece bats do allow for more flex during the swing. This has the advantage of providing much more vibration dampening on mishits, so that stinging feeling players can get on mishits is lessened significantly. However, one-piece alloy models like the Marucci Cat 8 allow slightly better force transfer up the barrel to the point of contact due to the stiffer feel, so many players prefer that feel as it allows for better feedback.
Kyle
How does the Cat 8 compare to the Louisville Slugger Omaha 519? Would you recommend one over the other? Noah
Based on the number of reviews and the quality of those reviews, I would probably recommend this Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC8) over the Omaha 519. The designs are pretty similar as both bats are one-piece, all-aluminum. As well, the Omaha is an excellent bat. However, everything we hear on this CAT 8 is pretty overwhelmingly positive. Because of that, I would recommend this CAT 8.
Ben
Is this or the Cat 7 more balanced? HT
The Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) and Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC8) will have very similar swing weights. These two models will feature a similar balance and in my opinion, one will not feel more balanced than the other.
Taylor
Is this worth the extra money over the CAT 7? HF
The Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 is a great bat and will be lighter than the CAT 7 BBCOR in swing weight feel. Whether or not to spend the additional funds on the CAT 8 will come down to how much a person "values" a CAT 8. In my opinion, the CAT 7 will be able to serve the same purpose as the CAT 8.
Cameron
Son is 5’4" 160 lbs. Always used drop 8 or 10. Needs at least drop 5. He is 14 yo. Thinking of jumping to BBCOR Marucci CAT 6. Thoughts of Marucci CAT 6,7 or 8? Jr
Whether to get the Marucci CAT 6, 7 or the Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 comes down more to personal preference. All three bats are highly rated BBCOR models with the CAT 7 and 8 being slightly better balanced than the CAT 6.
Cameron

Yes, the Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 is legal for use in USSSA.

Cameron
We live in Indiana where the beginning of the season is played in cold temps. My son broke a composite bat in a game last year because it was about 45 degrees.. since this bat is aluminum, is it a safer bet than a composite bat for tempts under 60 degrees? SEAN
Yes, alloy bats handle colder temperatures better than composite models. There is always some risk at colder temperatures, but it is much lower with alloy bats from our experience.
Kyle
I saw there is some red on the bat but mainly white. I've heard some high schools and colleges are banning mostly white bats I guess due to seeing the ball off the bat. Would this bat be in this category possibly? Tim
The Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 could not be allowed at the college level as the barrel is not color compliant. As far as the high school levels, a bat with a white barrel can still be used as of the date of this posting.
Cameron
Does the Cat 8 have the USA on it for USABL rules? Regina Smith
The Marucci CAT 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8 will only feature the BBCOR stamp. This is approved for play in Intermediate (50-70) & Junior League Divisions Of Little League and High School play.
