Bat Benefits
If you thought one-piece bats were gone then you were sorely mistaken! Easton has ushered back the era of the one-piece slow pitch bat with this Salvo!
A few years back there was a baseball bat called the Easton Mako...and it destroyed baseballs. I would imagine that a lot of young slow pitch softballers remember it. The composite material they used on that bat was the TCT Thermo Composite. And you young slow pitch studs will be happy to know that this Salvo will feature that same exact TCT Thermo Composite on its barrel!
This Salvo will indeed be a one-piece, all-composite bat. But Easton has used their engineering skill to seamlessly blend two different composite materials into the one-piece build. In addition to that TCT Thermo Composite on the barrel, the handle will be built from Sic Black Carbon composite. This Sic Black material is able to mitigate a good amount of vibration that gets down to a batter's hands on a miss-hit. This is a huge deal for a one-piece bat as sometimes one-piece models vibrate a lot if you don't strike the ball right on the sweet spot.
In addition, it is going to be considered a "Loaded" bat regarding the feel of the barrel. At JustBats, we have found that Easton's "Loaded" distinction compares most similarly to other bats characterized as slightly end-loaded. Oftentimes, power hitters like bats with a little heft in the barrel, but if you are a contact hitter looking to test your hand at a bat with some barrel load, definitely consider this Salvo.
And this writer cannot fail to mention the big selling point on this bat: the Dual Stamped certification. The two organizing bodies that dominate slow pitch softball throughout the US are USA Softball (ASA) and USSSA. Oftentimes, a bat will only feature one of these two stamps. But this bat will have both stamps (in addition to a few others as well). This is awesome because this bat should be allowed in just about any league or tournament that is being held. If you are a player that hops from team to team and you don't want to have to worry about your bat being deemed illegal, then this is your bat!
Lastly, be sure to note that this specific Salvo will only be found when shopping at JustBats!

Durable, but lacks pop Rick Player
Pros: Durable.
Cons: I’ve put well over 200-300 swings on it, but still doesn’t feel broken in when I square it up. Small sweet spot, but when I do find it, the ball carries decently.
Underwhelming Eric Player
Pros: Large barrel helps with contact, sweet spot is pretty forgiving, and the balance for an end-loaded bat is great.
Cons: Takes way too long to break in and there’s not much pop when it does. Not super hot out of the wrapper either.
Co-ed slow pitch arc softball Pancho Espinoza Player
Pros: Felt a little heavier than what I had been using but has great pop. Took it to the batting cages and got about 100 swings. Would later go 4-4 with it in a game that night.
Cons: Nothing.
Chris / Rec league player Chris Butts Player
Pros: I love this bat. As someone who does not have home run power, but relies on base speed and placement, I'm glad I chose the Salvo. Even a few stronger players that have tried it, have hit some pretty hot liners. Money well spent.
Cons: Wouldn't say it's a Con, it's not the bat if you're looking for moon shots.
Good solid bat Sage Player
Pros: It feels great with a good swing and a great sweet spot. The grip is perfect as well. I've played softball my whole life and now I'm playing in a senior league so things are different including the bats and it took me a minute to find one that I loved. And this was it.
Cons: As a woman, it would be fun to have a more feminine looking bad with all of the power of a regular manly bat.
Great Bat Ryan Ogden Player
Pros: Great Bat straight out of the wrapper
Cons: Does take around 40 to 50 hits To start and the bat really come to life
Great bat, powerful out of the wrapper Dan Player
Pros: Good pop Short break-in Nice weight balance
Cons: None
Contact hitter A. Heff Player
Pros: So far I am enjoying this bat. It did have some pop right out of the wrapper, but noticing the bat getting a little hotter after about 40-50 hits. Feels nice and easy to swing. Was able to hit some nice line drives and hard grounders. Good solid bat for the price. If you're not looking to spend $$$$ this could be a bat for you.
Cons: I would say this is not a power hitters bat. It does have some pop, but some of the guys I play with, the power hitters, didn't like it. Felt it took too much to really crush the ball.
Amazing Bat. Tafari Carter Player
Pros: Perfect fit in my hands.
Cons: None at the moment
