2013 easton S3: yb13s3 youth joshua player
Pros: lot of pop
Cons: shock
Ticul17 Guy Gelinas coach
Pros: Bought 28/15 for my 7 year old and he is hitting bombs with it. It is his first 28" bat and he has great control with most likely due to the balance. I used it once for infield/outfield practice and cleared a 225' fence hitting the ball one handed. Amazing pop...
Cons: None yet.
easton s3 kevin kerfonta coach
Pros: Nice and light.
Cons: It dented the first week we used it.
rowe jman player
Pros: it is great awesome pop and viberation
Cons: it can be to light for some players that switch from the cf5 that swing it well
No Line of Hype Todd parent
Pros: Honest review here. Just received the bat today. Took my son out back to test it out. I am able to say this bat improved my son's swing, speed and contact a lot. And eventually his confidence. I can't say he hit any homers cause there was no fence but he definitely was driving them much farther than before. Truly great "pop" off the bat. If he had this bat for the past season the inside the park homer would have been an over the fence walk off home run. He also has a 29/16 Easton 2012 S1, he likes the 2013 S3 better!
Cons: Absolutely none.
Harry
Pros: 10 years old, 5'3", 84lb. Gets this 31" drop 11 alloy bat around quick and already improved his at bats.
Cons:
baeball11
Pros: well I have not got it yet but im a power hitter and bat 4th but the xl is too much money should i still get the bat
Cons:
Lil E (son)
Pros: My son is a small 8 year old with great bat speed already. Playing in his second and last Greenie League Classic Tournament this past week, I ordered the S3 so he could get used to it before faces live pitching for the first time. He went from a 28/18 to a 29/16 and that made an immediate difference, more bat speed. But the difference in power that he had was undeniable. I'm Dad and coach and I've never seen his power on display like it was. He impressed A LOT of Little League scouts last week when he was at the plate! To break it in, I used it to hit infield/outfield.
Cons: He'll eventually grow out of it...
bfg2sju

Mauiboy808
Pros: Awesome bat. Right out of wrapper bat is hot. My son loves it. First batting practice he was hitting some shots.
Cons: None.
Mr .T
Pros: I have this the XL1 and the S1, they all have great pop. I really think the S3 has more pop than the S1. Sounds crazy, but true. The XL1 is end loaded, which helps for power, but the 30" 17 oz. S3 really helps bat speed. It's a real level swinging bat.
Cons: Zero.
this is awesome
Pros: had a lot of pop on it and was really fast
Cons: --------------- ( none)
ldicwjfhwjajdbdhsbdhj

Pros: My son loves the weight and feel of this bat. Sufficient pop for aluminum bat.
Cons: Bought this bat less than a month ago and already has two huge dents in it. We'll see how Easton's return policy is.
Coach
Pros: Bought for my 9 year old daughter that plays little league. Very lightweight, balanced swing, decent pop.
Cons: Dented the first day she used the bat. Hit less than a bucket of balls. Would not buy again.
UMYBL Phantom
Pros: Very light and great for hitting line drives, hard ones. Excellent choice for contact hitter who wants high average results.
Cons:
harrje
Pros: Great bat! My son is 9 and loves this bat. He almost hit the ball over the fence in little league tryouts. I can't wait to see what the rest of the season holds with this bat!
Cons: None
Ponyo 808
Pros: Excellent pop and bat speed. Simply amazing. This bat got me out of a hitting slump. just an amazing bat, you will get all your money's worth with this bat.
Cons: NONE AT ALL
Zaner
Pros: Lightweight, and easy to get the head around.
Cons: Vibration is terrible. Not a clean swing yet after 3 weeks. I'm thinking of sending it back.
deanatl
Pros: Great pop from the first hit. Well Balanced. -13 is perfect for smaller players. My son is 7 and on the smaller side. This is the first bat that he can really get around on and he absolutely crushes the ball with this bat. The Easton big barrel that he used over the summer doesn't even compare.
Cons: None.
Mr Broiwn
Pros: Good balance
Cons: Dented within 2 weeks and Easton return process started well but their "Track Your Return" process just doesn't work. Very frustatrated with Easton.
Dadde0-754
Pros: Right out of the box swinging it my 8 year old loves it. It has nice power.
Cons: None.
Wolf Wheeler
Pros: I bought this bat for my son cause he is extremely small for his age. He is 10 years old and had trouble getting the XL1 bat around due to the weight of the bat being all on the end of the bat. The S3 is offered in a 28" 15 oz. which really gives him a lot of bat speed. We are not trying to hit home runs just line drives and hard ground balls. So far this bat has been worth the money for a smaller player. If your kid is small don't over-bat him, get him something he can swing.
Cons: None so far
JV
Pros: The ball jumps off the bat. My son says its the best bat he has ever had.
Cons: Nothing
josh
Pros: I just got this bat for thanksgiving and I have went to the batting cage and when I hit the ball it felt like nothinbg.
Cons:

I'm looking at this bat and the 2013 XL3, my decision is between the -13 and the -11. My son is 9, 4'7" and 75 pounds. He hits with some power. Can you please tell me why a parent would choose a -13, -12, or -11 bat for their kid. Demarini Voodoo or Vendetta is another option for us, but they are all -13. Any advice in this area would be great. His bat last year was 29-17. coach M

My son is 8 years old and weighs 70 lbs. He has a nice swing and is generally well balanced in his swing. He swings smoothly. Is this a good bat for him or would a different bat work better? My 7 yr. old (soon to be 8) son used the Easton SV12 (29 in, 16 oz, -13) in the fall and hit well with it until it died. We're looking for a new bat and think this might fit the bill. Do they compare well? And is a -13 drop bat approved in most leagues? We're also considering moving up to the 30 in. 17 oz, as he has grown a little since the fall, although he falls more in the 29 in, 16 oz, range based on his height and weight. He is a strong hitter and thought it would be good to move up in bat size a little. Thoughts on that as well? Coach Y

Is it a big barrel model and is it composite? boom
My son is now on a 7U select team. He is the smallest kid on the team and usually hits with a pretty good average, but not a lot of power because he is so small. He currently uses a 27" -12 Easton Typhoon. We want to get him a better bat to help generate some pop. We are looking at the S3 28"-13. It's an extra inch but the same weight. Will this be worth the extra money or should we stay with the Easton Typhoon? Chris
