Dented the first day Michael Perales Player

Pros: Felt great. Hit a couple bombs during batting practice.

Cons: But then i noticed later when i went to clean it up that there was a huge flat spot/dent near the cap of the bat. This was also the first time using the bat. Horrible durability. To late for me to return but i hope this doesn't happen again with the warranty replacement setting how you only get one replacement per warranty.

Good balance, great pop, poor durability David Lopez Coach

Pros: This bat is very balanced and jas a great feel. The exit velocity is some of the best my team has seen in the last couple of years.

Cons: The durability of the bat is not great. We have only played 4 games and we have already developed a flat spot near the cap.

Buy a Maple bat instead Nathan Wineinger Player

Pros: Looks cool and has a nice bat grip

Cons: Dented the bat the second time it was used and the pitcher was throwing off-speed pitches in the 60s. Hit it near the end of the barrel and my coach thought I broke it. After the at bat I noticed it had a dent in the barrel where I hit the ball.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton Project 3 Alpha BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB19AL? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

What does a "natural sound" on contact mean? How would this bat compare to the Omaha 518 or Rawlings VELO? I am a strong hitter looking for a one piece feel with some pop. Matt
The Easton Project 3 Alpha BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB19AL is similar to a LS Omaha or Rawlings VELO in that all three bats are one-piece alloy bats with balanced swing weights. The end cap design of the Easton Project 3 Alpha BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB19AL would make the bat more similar to the LS Omaha as the Rawlings VELO features a composite end cap. With regards to the "natural sound" on contact, this refers more to the traditional sound one gets from an alloy bat. This sound has changed a lot over the years due to the advancements in the alloy as well as end cap design. Easton has created this bat with the hope of developing a sound on contact to appeal to the masses for those that prefer "ping" of alloy.
Cameron
What is "Power Balanced" vs End loaded and Balanced? Barry
The Easton Project 3 Alpha BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB19AL is listed as "power balanced" by Easton. Our impression is that this bat feels end loaded versus a truly balanced option.
Daveron
How does the pop on this bat compare to the pop on the Ghost X? I'm 6'1 17 year old power hitter. Logan Potts
The performance will be very similar between the Ghost X and this Easton Project 3 Alpha BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB19AL. The Alpha will be stiffer which can benefit a power hitter as they drive through the ball on contact.
Tyler
What is the difference between this Alpha bat and the Alpha XL bat? Lucas carmichael
The only real difference between the Easton Project 3 Alpha BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB19AL and the XL model will be the half ounce end load on the swing weight of the XL. This will often curtail itself to a power hitter.
Tyler
Should the Alpha have the barrel striations facing the ball or does it make no difference where on the barrel the ball is contacted? Haven't seen a barrel with the raised lines before. Rick H
The decals on the Easton Project 3 Alpha BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB19AL are purely cosmetic. This alloy option does not need to be facing a specific way on contact. The barrel is made to be hit along the full circumference.
Daveron
Are the raised lines along the barrel in violation of NFHS smooth contour rule? If not is there a source to confirm it's conforming to rules? Jim
This bat is legal for high school play since it contains the .50 BBCOR certification stamp. We are not aware of any issues with this bat being illegal anywhere in the US for high school play.
Kyle
Does that bat ping? It sound more like a composite. Is that considered the natural sound? Calvin
The Easton Project 3 Alpha BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB19AL, and the sounds it makes on contact, will vary depending on how close to the sweet spot the ball is making contact on the barrel. With the bat being alloy it will typically be louder than a composite model but this can vary as well based on alloy used as well as end cap design.
Cameron
Does this bat need to be broken in? Daniel
The Easton Project 3 Alpha BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB19AL will be an one piece alloy. Alloy barrels do not need a break in period and will be ready to use straight out of the box.
Daveron
Lots of durability issues in the reviews (6 of 11 reviews gave 1/5 for durability). Most complaints were for dents that happened shortly after purchase. Is this covered by warranty? Chris
The Easton Project 3 Alpha BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB19AL would be covered by Easton's 12 month manufacturer's warranty if the bat were to dent. If that were to occur, one could complete Easton's online warranty form to get a claims number to send the bat back to Easton for replacement.
Cameron
Do you know the moi on this 32 inch bat Mike
No unfortunately that type of information is not provided for us.
