Description

After successfully establishing themselves as a heavyweight in the metal bat market, Easton now turns its focus to making wood bats that live up to the quality its loyal fans have come to expect. The Easton M2000 maple wood adult baseball bat will certainly live up to your expectations. Made from North American hardwood maple, this bat is a great value for the price. A quality bat from barrel to knob, the Easton M2000 features laser engraved graphics that give it a professional look. The M2000 turn has a slightly larger knob with a 29/32" flared handle. A long taper leads up to a medium-sized barrel, making this bat ideal for players looking for a bump in bat speed. A cupped end helps balance the bat and keeps it true to weight. With a unique black finish, the M2000 looks almost as good as it swings. Best of all, Easton's wood bats are all handcrafted in California, right here in the U.S.A. What is the difference between maple and ash for wood bats?
PC
Maple is a very dense timber with a greater surface hardness than ash. However, pound for pound, ash is the strongest timber available. Ash has a flexibility that isn't found in other timbers. It tends to flex rather than break. This gives you a larger, more forgiving sweet spot in terms of breakage. Ash is lighter than maple, however ash does tend to flake after extensive use. When a maple bat breaks it tends to snap in half instead of splinting like ash does. These are some of the biggest differences among these two types of woods.
Merritt
How is the pop in this bat? Is it durable?
Durf
The Easton North American Maple Wood Bat: (M2000) will be high performing. Maple is a relatively dense timber with a greater surface area than most types of wood. Many players believe this characteristic helps improve performance. In terms of durability, ash is probably the most durable, whereas maple tends to feel a little bit stiffer.
