DeMarini Zenith -13 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXPFP22
The Zenith is ready to bop softballs across the fastpitch diamond! Get ready to purchase this bat and watch it deliver up at the dish!
Bat Benefits
The Zenith is going to be built to help young ladies fall in love with the game of softball and also to develop their hitting skills! DeMarini built it with a 2-piece design that has a hybrid (alloy barrel and composite handle) build. The barrel has the DX1 Alloy that is designed not only to put a charge into a softball but it is also designed to be durable. The handle will be built with the TP Composite that should limit the amount of vibration that could get to a batter's hands on a miss-hit.
Lastly, the bat is going to be very lightweight with a drop 13 length-to-weight ratio. That drop size is going to make the bat easy to handle for young ladies that might consider themselves power hitters or for ladies that would be characterized as a contact hitter.

Pros: It’s super light
Cons: N/A
Pros: Barrel length is long. Balance feel with good pop. Exactly what my 4ft, 60lb daughter needed.
Cons: Grip, knob and sticker on knob are low quality for a $100+bat. Size sticker on knob already fell off and I replaced the grip with Lizard Skin myself.
Pros: I was nervous because everyone always states that if it not $300-$400 it's not going to give you the pop you want. Well this bat has proven that statement to be wrong. Our daughter loves her new bat and we are happy with the purchase.
Cons: We have nothing bad to say about the bat.
Pros: Needed a lighter bat for my 7 year old. So far she loves it. Feels high quality with out a high price.
Cons: None
Pros: Bat is evenly balanced and had a great feel. This bat also has a massive sweet spot which is great for young hitters!!
Cons: I think the only down side is the end cap seems to be a little worrisome but so far nothing has happen to it!
Pros: Looks awesome and is perfect for my daughter. Bat has a great feel, very balanced and vibes don’t bother my daughters hands at all. Which is great because she swings very hard. She loves it and the lizard skin grip was a nice touch to customize a bit.
Cons: None. Feels like an absolute steal for the price.
Pros: I coach 8u Rec. No one is ready to spend $400 on a bat. This is the exact bat you want for that bridge for end of Rec and before travel. Great pop. Hard to find a bat this good at this price point.
Cons: Love this bat!
Pros: Very light, virtually no sting, perfect for a ball player who needs to work on fundamentals before investing in the high dollar bats. Definitely a better hit than regular aluminum.
Cons: Wanted the sweet spot to be a bit longer on the barrel like standard aluminum but this is a compromise on my end. Does not pop like composite but that’s to be expected with alloy.
Pros: So far so good. She is big for her age(10) so neded something good but not in the $300.00 to $400.00 range and this bat has been very good so far. Nice little pop and everything.
Cons: None so far.
Pros: Great step up for my 9 year old
Cons: None
Pros: None
Cons: Bought bat for my daughter’s first year playing hoping it would last her 2 years. The bat seemed good at first but it didn’t even make it through one year of light use and is dead. Was never abused, still looks new.
Pros: The quality for the price point. Wanted a good bday for my granddaughter who is 13 but is new to competitive softball. Wanted a bday that had a bigger drop to size but still have some pop, and I didn't want to spend $400. This is a great bar for the price. Nice design and feel, and a good name in bats. If your looking for a good bday for a beginner or novice this is it. If you want to of line, then it's not for you. We have only had it a few weeks do I can't comment on the durability to much but she is using it in lessons and loves it.
Cons: None
Pros: very durable bat, ball comes off great and good balance for smaller hitters. Daughter loves it
Cons: None yet
Pros: Lightweight and decent pop for the first 6-9 months
Cons: My 9yo daughter has had this bat for about 11 months and unfortunately it lost most of its pop by about month 9. Line drives no longer even make it out of the infield.
Pros: The composite handle definitely changes the way the ball feels on contact. There is significantly less vibration. There’s no ear piercing sound from the barrel. The colors are awesome. I would recommend this bat for someone who is still figuring out the mechanics of their swing but is ready for an upgrade from a straight alloy bat. I firmly believe you need a $400 swing before buying a $400 bat.
Cons: The grip could be better but that’s easily replaceable.

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."
In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.
Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.
To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.
In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.
Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.
With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).
In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.
Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.
In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.
More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
