Pros: great bat ton of pop nice grip big sweet spot all around good bat even with inside pitched get good pop
Cons: none but stings a little in the cold but normal
Trevor25
Pros: BBCOR bats do not have the same pop as the old bats, we have to face it. The days when a poorly hit ball was a hit are gone. You will have to start earning your base hits. As far as BBCOR bats, this is the best one I have seen. The weight is evenly distributed, the handle is very nice and it makes a nice sound like a wood bat when you hit it. I always hated that "ping" sound. From now on, there won't be any more "hot" bats, they all have to perform to the BBCOR spec which is about the same as a wood bat. Pick one you like. I would highly recommend this one.
Cons: None.
ClintonDevil
Pros: This bat is a great bat by no means. Great grip, good barrel. Ive had it since Christmas and its been a great bat so far with BP.
Cons: Ive got a friend with a Marucci Cat 5 and it is the BEST BBCOR bat out there so if your looking for a bat get the Marucci Cat 5. The Cat 5 is way better than the Marucci Black and the Voodoo
BiG_BeEf
Pros: Sounds good when you hit the ball and has good pop when you hit it on the sweet spot.
Cons: batting tape tour within a week and if you dont hit the ball on the middle of the bat the ball wont go anywhere.
blen
Pros: less sting than some others due to half and half feature.
Cons: i used to think that BBCORs all had the same amount of pop (or lack of pop), but i have tried a few others that have out preformed this one. (The exo and the cat 5.) it is also more top heavy than the cf5.
Kerhulahoops
Pros: This is a great bat! I have used a DeMarini bat all my life, and this bat is the best one I have used yet. I bat fourth or fifth in the batting order for my baseball team, so I am a power hitter. This bat is great for me because it has lots of flexibility and a large sweet-spot. This makes it great for power hitters and contact hitters. In conclusion, I suggest you purchase this bat. My teammates agree with me also.
Cons: The only thing that is wrong with this bat is that it scratches pretty easily. However, this does not effect the performance quality of the bat.
brk
Pros: has more pop and larger sweet spot then any other bbcor
Cons: EXTREMLY TOP HEAVY
Da Boom
Pros: Great quality, nice sweet spot! This bat Rocks !
Cons: None !
Anonymous
Pros: if you hit a ball on the sweetspot the ball will abosolutely jump! i've hit the ball harder than ever with this bat.
Cons: if you dont hit it right it feels like hitting with a broom stick but im sure the big kids can still kill the ball.
coco
Pros: This bat has a lot of pop. demarini did a good job ajusting the new standerds that highschools put in use. it was pretty good for a first year bbcor it lasted a long time i used it for freshman year to sophmore fall ball. im excited to try out the cf5.
Cons: paint chips easy. grip wears out fast. hard to break in.
Rek0104
Pros: Similar performance compared to other BBCORs. I personally like the feel of this bat, slightly top heavy. Looks good. Hits better than the black voodoo.
Cons: The sweet spot seemed further down on the barrel towards the end cap than other BBCORs.
willsky7
Pros: I have tested the BBCOR versions of the Easton Surge, Demarini Voodoo, and Louisville Sluggger EXO, and found that the Voodoo has the least sting, largest sweet spot, and the best overall feel. I was an Easton guy for a long time and this is the only Demarini I have purchased. Overall a great bbcor bat, but dont be disappointed when it doesnt perform like the BESR bats because it is not even a comparison.
Cons: cant use in cold weather
connman
Pros: great for a bbcor bat and it is true, you must be a decent hitter to use one. But it is a good solid bat and worth every penny
Cons: The grip is slippery so you should put grip tape on it. Gets dirty.
BAtBoy
Pros: good BBCOR for the price.
Cons: not a homerun bat thats for sure. when you hit it it sounds wooden but thats expected.
baseballfreek7
Pros: ball jumps off of the bat, has really good pop, and feels really good when you hit the ball right
Cons: nadda
grand slamumundo
Pros: great bat overall there is almost nothing wrong with it other than the fact that it is just a little expensive you can ignore all those other comments. i have seen better bats but this bat still performs nicely.not a have to have but good
Cons: don't know why everyone says this bat has many problems i have found nothing wrong with it.
Anonymous
Pros: not the best bbcor but definately in the top 3. pretty good pop and sound.
Cons: mine got a rattle inside after a month of use. but doesnt affect the preformance.
Purist
Pros: Its a DeMarini. We are getting ready to purchase this bat so I have been reading all of the reviews. Our college freshman son has been hitting with a Voodoo since he was a HS freshman and has always loved it. Getting to college we were waiting to see how the BBCOR bats performed before investing in one. Please folks, if you are comparing ANY BBCOR bats to what you are used to, save your comments and stars until you learn more about what you are talking about. The new standards have changed the game, and everyone will have their own preference. DO NOT create bad press by comparing the new Voodoo to the old Voodoo. That is not DeMarini's fault, they have had to adjust to the new standards just like everyone else. Hitter's... try to become a better hitter and don't blame your gear.
Cons: Waiting to see...

Pros: great bat. good balance, good pop, big sweetspot, and nice grip. all around great.
Cons: none so far
john b
Pros: switiching between using my rival, and our school voodoo, and you can tell the voodoo has so much more pop and just flies of the bat. even when you dont hit a liner, the grounders and flying.
Cons: none
Longball Lager
Pros: Solid bat, good pop, nice grip, nice smooth finish
Cons: you get marks on the white barrel that show
HSBBplayer
Pros: Good looks, fantastic grip, BBCOR legal
Cons: It's a BBCOR, so the pop is almost completely nonexistent. It also sounds like you're hitting with a candlestick. When you hit it on the "sweet spot," the ball just doesn't carry like it used to, and the feel just isn't the same. However, this is probably one of the better BBCOR bats out there.
Cadillac
Pros: Surprising Pop, nice sweet spot for BBCOR.
Cons: Zero
David
Pros: -POP -Nice balance -Looks cool
Cons: -Slightly smaller sweet spot than I expected -Grip is perfectly fine, not not great
Anonymous
Pros: After trying many of the bbcor bats this one was definetly the best. most pop. no sting. light feel. great bbcor bat.
Cons: none
Zbar Boudwin
Pros: outstanding baseball bat.
Cons: a little heavy than other bats
lefty
Pros: awesome pop, good for all kinds of hitters
Cons: marks easily
grossbat
Pros: Comfortable grip
Cons: Awful bat. I don't understand how people can say it has good pop. This bat feels worse than wood. I was watching the opposing team take bp with the rip-it and they were consistently hitting the ball out of the park. And our team has plenty of power threats. Not a fan, get another bat.
Anonymous
Pros: probably best bbcor bat, nice sweetspot, good handle.
Cons: its bbcor so not as much pop as the besr bats..
Anonymous
Pros: Great Grip Feels Strong Through the Ball Looks Great
Cons: Marks easily show up on the white bat. I have only used it in three bp sessions and the bat already has a few marks
Anonymous
Pros: We purchased this for our son, who is on a competitive traveling team, and he is really happy. With the new rules on bats, we found this bat to be in compliance and a great fit. I was really pleased that after I ordered it, it was shipped out and we recvd it in 3 days at no extra cost. Just Bats had great service and prices.
Cons:
38baseball38
Pros: well id say it is the best bbcor bat out, but bbcor has literally taken 50% of pop away from bats. looks sweet and feels good.
Cons: it hits just like my wood bat it just looks cooler
Anonymous
Pros: balanced, good grip, one of the better BBCORs.
Cons: less pop then the red voodoo, smaller sweet spot, but since it is BBCOR thats to be expected.
Anonymous
Pros: nice bat, no sting, grip was good, bbcor approved
Cons: not as much pop as my easton,
shippen
Pros: great pop for bbcor, nice grip, feels good droppin bombs all over the place
Cons: feels a little end heavy
Jake's Dad
Pros: Bought the bat for my son , Since high school went to the bbcor, still has some pop to it , he seem pleased with its performance
Cons: smaller sweet spot compared to his other Voodoo
123456789
Pros: looks cool. okay pop. grip is nice
Cons: BBCOR isnt making me to happy. this is an okay bat nothing special
Unhappy
Pros: None
Cons: Don't know what everyone is talking about. This bat feels like hitting with a broom stick...and it broke in half the second day I hit with it.
spanky
Pros: looks cool, good for a bbcor
Cons: bbcors' pop is dead, nothing special at all, it is made for the cut down of homeruns, not the boost, the VEXXUM is a better bbcor by far
PJ
Pros: Nice grip...looks good. Average pop.
Cons: Bat broke within two weeks of practice, and only used in for live BP on the field. Pop was decent, but not the best BBCOR bat on the market. Durability is poor for a 1-time replacement $300 bat.
ZJ
Pros: good pop when hit in the sweetspot and an incredible sound. the best part is that the small sweetspot and the more wood like pop make it a much easier transfer from metal to wood
Cons: it is a bbcor, but that con will go away when they become required and the normal bat used
imcool
Pros: good bbcor bat
Cons: no as good as besr
Gman1
Pros: Looks cool
Cons: Poor balance, Why charge me so so much for less than wood performance. Got more pop with my Mizuno 271 maple
Bseblldde76
Pros: Better of the bbcors ive used, most balanced, low swing weight, no vibration. Ive used the rawlings, omaha, and surge bbcor and this one is the best. surge is pretty close though. rawlings is the worst with the omaha not to far ahead. every other bbcor but this bat is overweighted and has a high MOI.
Cons: as expected, there is a significant pop drop off from the besr bats.
patchaz
Pros: Weighted well. Solid feel. Good performing bat.
Cons: Bbcor bats lost bounce. Need to be a fudelmentally sound hitter
Bravesfan
Pros: decent looks
Cons: Obviously due to the new certification system the new bats are going to not be as hot. I hit with this one and not only is the pop not there but when compared to last years model the balance is aweful. I hope this doesn't mean all the bats will be aweful.
123123
Pros: it can't travel off the bat more than 114 mph and he cant heat up after a couple hundred hits so its the best you can get with the bbcor
Cons: stop all the reviews about how it so bad
Actual Review
Pros: **DONT BE FOOLED BY BOGUS REVIEWS** In my opinion (everyone is different) this is the best BBCOR when it comes to weight distribution. My college team has experimented with several and this is the favorite.
Cons: Extremely dissapointed in the reviews here. It honestly looks like demarini is paying people to put these reviews. All of the BBCOR bats have about the same if not less pop than a good wood bat. They must all meet specific regulations on how fast the ball can exit off the bat. Every BBCOR has the same amount of "pop". What makes each one different is its barrel shape and its weight distribution
Anonymous
Pros: Best legal bat available hands down
Cons: Doesn't perform as well as the BESR but thats expected.
dog1
Pros: not too much.I guess better than the rest but much weaker than my BESR Voodoo. I'm a College player and these reviewers don't know what they are talking about. We used it in practice and were hitting more bombs with WOOD!
Cons: Not the pop and distance of the BESR bats. We used an old dented Dynasty and it hit 30-40 feet farther with same players swing both bats.
itswhatever
Pros: Absolutely awesome bbcor bat.
Cons: its a bbcor bat.
Travelin Light
Pros: Looks cool, feels great in your hands, and seems to be durable.
Cons: It's a BBCOR bat. The pop is lacking big time compared to what most players are used to. I'm likely going to use wood as much as I use a BBCOR this season.
Cantwell Baseball 27
Pros: Its a great bat and demarini has the best bats out there rite now
Cons:
kmo15
Pros: Awesome color combo and the quality that is in the Demarini name.
Cons:
bbcor hater
Pros: Its the best BBCOR bat I've hit with so far, which really isn't saying much.
Cons: Im surprised at some of these reviews... you can definetly notice the drop off in pop from last year's voodoo but I guess that was to be expected
pvkid
Pros: it's a bbcor what do you expect? i hit singles all day long, no more doubles or home runs for me...it's the best of the worst if you want to put it that way...nice grip though
Cons: i almost hit a ball over 370 ft....i can maybe hit 250 this year, and it's sorta top heavy with a small sweet spot
voice of reason
Pros: BBCOR is basically a downgraded version of the BESR bats from year prior due to restrictions on the pop. A bat shouldn't break period. If you played baseball at a higher level you would know getting jammed is inevitable when the pitchers throw junk in at your hands
Cons: demarini has always had serious problems with the weight distribution in their bats. The handles are way too light and it makes it harder to make the transition to wood. This bat is ok, but nothing special at all.
all*star14
Pros: Awesome pop. Long-ball efficient. MUST BUY!
Cons: Can't understand why the red DeMARINI Voodoo Black isn't BBCOR certified
quite the fly for the average white guy
Pros: Best bat around.
Cons: its not baseball season.
Demarini
Pros: People who wrote cons don't know what they're talking about. they dont know demarini, they dont know baseball, they are clueless. i've used this bat and it's unbeatable. i love it, i hit countless homeruns in batting practice, and Demarini continuees to put the best bats on the market! A bat will break if you dont know how to swing at an inside pitch
Cons: Its a demarini, there aren't cons
Kevinkind
Pros: I watched my son use his new Voodoo Black BBCOR for the first time during a private batting practice with his coach. They were in a cage and the coach was pitching from behind a screen. My son Kasey was hitting harder than I've ever seen him hit. The balls were screaming off the bat. One actualy tore threw the pitching screen barely missing coach's head. This bat has extreme pop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cons: Coach has cancelled the last two practices. I think he may be waiting for it to warm up so him and Kase can practice outside. Kasey has always hit the ball hard but this is the first bat that has shaken his coach.
imthatkid
Pros: best bat of 2011..
Cons: none
Baseballplaya4Life
Pros: Just got the bat, its amazing, obviously loss of pop right after contact. still, great feel
Cons: if not hit in the sweet spot, obviously not going to go as far, limited sweet spot but still, great bat
CollegePlayer
Pros: ALL THESE REVIEWS ARE CRAZY! All the reviews that regard this with 5 stars obviously doesn't know a thing about these new bbcor bats or are being paid to write these ridiculous reviews. Definitely not as the same amount of pop with other bats but this is to be expected with these new bbcor bats. Unfortunately I think you may have to settle with this voodoo bbcor because all the other bbcors are trash
Cons:

Pros: greatest bat,EVER. I've hit bomb after bomb with this bat. I've never seen a bat with such a explosive pop.
Cons: none.
i <3 voooodoooo
Pros: This bat has an awesome look along with a long barrel for major pop. It is a homerun hitter's type of bat and is balanced throughout the entire bat. It feels light and gives you great bat speed through the zone when at the plate.
Cons: Its BBCOR certified so people aren't buying it yet even though it's better than any abt on the market!
ahappydad
Pros: bought this for my 14 year old son and ever since hes been hitting bombs left and right with this bat. good job demarini.
Cons: none so far

About the Brand
In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."
In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.
Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.
To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.
In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.
Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.
With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).
In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.
Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.
In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.
More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
