Description

When you think of the best quality baseball bats on the market today, only one word comes to mind; DeMarini. Year after year DeMarini produces some of the best baseball bats available, and that holds true once again this year. One of the crown jewels in the DeMarini line for the past several years has been the CF3/CF4 family. This year's CF4 ST is going to pick up right where its ancestors left off. The CF4 ST -11 composite youth baseball bat is designed after the original, but it has a carbon material that is 22% stronger and has an 11% longer barrel than most composite bats. The new CF4 ST contains double re-enforced vertical and horizontal weave fibers to increase durability. The new design contains the strongest and tightest composite materials combined with Silver Trace bonding agents. This process adds strength to maximize the power transfer to the barrel for increased performance. DeMarini has found that by using the extended double wall barrel design, energy can be harnessed during the transfer process. The Half & Half system redistributes weight for optimal balance, allowing players to swing faster with less effort. Half & Half means more power at the point of contact. The improved end cap helps dampen vibrations, producing a better feel during every swing. The DeMarini variegated grip gives you the most comfortable feel, allowing you to have the most control possible. When you step in the box, take a DeMarini with you and hit your way to the championship. Full Twelve Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: This bat has TONS of pop I hit A major bomb yesterday that would have either gone out or gone to the fence seeing how far the outfielders were playing. Also I hit it over their heads.

Cons: Beware it felt a little heavier than what the weight was supposed to be because I held A COMbat B2 and it was marked an ounce heavier and it felt lighter so beware of that before you face faster pitching

Pros: great pop and big sweet spot.

Cons: has slowed down my son's swing. he has trouble getting around on the faster pitchers and he never had trouble before. he's more of a gap hitter who wanted more power after watching his older freinds hit bombs with the CF4. this bat is not for the smaller player like my son. the end weighted barrell and -11 is too much for smaller/weaker players. he's going back to the Easton Stealth until he grows

Pros: Fast delivery on free shipping, arrived in two days after ordering bat. Too cold to use bat right now. Will update after my son gets to use it. Looks like a well made bat. FYI composite bats are not to be used in cold weather 60 degrees or higher is your best bet. Use only real leather baseballs and do not take bat to a batting cage because they do not use leather baseballs.

Pros: Very good bat has good pop on not good hits and really good pop on well connected solid hits. Its like any other bat if you hit the sweet spot it flys if you hit it off the end or the handle it dosnt go anywhere that hard but what bat does. It wont wash your kids or wash your car like some make it sound but the bat is only as good as the player using it.

Cons: None so far.Just treat it right and it will last a while before your kid grows out of it.

Pros: The Demarini cf4 st is a great bat, With awesome pop, A Great grip, And Looks great! If your hitting synthetic balls the pop is Not very good, But with leather balls the ball Flies!!! It's very well balanced, Take a LONG time to break in but it's worth it, I Think the 2008 Tpx Omaha Composite -12 bat is better, but thats it! Overall it's a great bat!!! A+++++++++++!

Cons: Hitting with synthetic balls the Cf4 is not very good, But with Real leather balls the Ball Soars! Other than that It's Awesome!

Pros: Purchased for 9 yr old (almost 10). Have coached for 3 years now and seen a fair # of bats. This bat is very solid and has very good pop from the start. It is only a few weeks old, so not sure if it will get better with additional break-in. I feel it is slightly superior to Easton Convert (also very good composite) and Combat B3 (-10 version).

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the DeMarini CF4 ST Youth Baseball Bat: DXCFL? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

how cold can it b if u cant use it jdog
It's recommended that you not use this bat when it's colder than 65 or 60 degrees.
Jeff
what is better the cf4 st or the cf5? maniacpitchr23
Both are approved for Little League play, and structurally, they are the same. However, the CF5 features an upgraded composite material that will have just as much pop as the CF4, and will be a little bit stronger. Both are great bats.
Brett
what bat would u prefer for a ten year old POWER hiiter? the cf4 st or the combat b4 jeter3000
A lot of true power hitters prefer a one piece, stiff bat like the B4. However, at 10 years old, I think either the CF4 or B4 would be an excellent choice.
JH
How long does it take to ship? AP83
Monday through Friday, we ship all orders placed before 8pm CST the same day. Delivery time depends on where you are located, but our free shipping guarantees delivery within 5 business days.
JH
which bat is better for a 12 year old the B4 or the CF4? J
It depends on the player's preference. Both are high quality bats with a lot of pop. The B4 will be stiffer and is ofter prefered by natural power hitters, the CF4 is a two-piece bat with a little more flex that is often preferred by contact hitters.
Brett
can this bat be used for 13- 14 year old junior division leauge bigdog
This is a 2 1/4 inch barrel youth bat that is approved for Little League play.
Brett
What does flex mean? demarinifan
When a player swings a bat through the hitting zone it will actually flex to a certain degree based on the swing speed generated and the bat. Two-piece bats like the CF4 have a little more flex compared to one-piece bats. Benefits of a two-piece bat with a flex handle creates more "whipping action" allowing the bat to uncoil and release more energy and increases the bat speed at the moment of contact.
Josh
Does the cf4 st have a double barrel. demarini
Yes, this bat is going to be a double wall bat.
Brett
will this bat be leagal for little league play in 2012. I have heard maybe not. Rick
As far as Sept. 2011, we have heard that the cf4 st will still be legal for Little League play next season.
Mark
Is this bat approved for 2012? Marti
If your league allows composite barrel bats that are on the Little League approved list, then this bat will be legal for you to use.
Todd
Will this bat be legal to use for Little League in 2012? Whats the BFS rating? Coach V
Ball Performance Factor is the new certification required by USSSA, and does not apply to Little Leaue Rules. Little League has not released their approved bat list for 2012, but as for 2011 it was legal.
Shelbe
Does this bat have the 1.15 BPF stamp? Craig
No it does not have the 1.15 BPF stamp.
Kara
Since this is a composite bat, how long is the break-in period? Omar
You will need to break in the bat by taking 100-200 swings off a tee or soft toss, rotating the barrel about a quarter of an inch each time. Batting cages that have yellow dimpled balls should not be used with composite bats.
Kara
is this bat 100% composite?if so will it be legal in little league in2012? hitman
The CF4 is all composite. I haven't heard if the bat will be legal next year.
Kara
is the barrle 100 % composite homer hitter
Yes. The CF4 is 100% composite.
Brett
Is it a big barrel bat? matt
No. This is a small barrel, 2 1/4 inch bat. For big barrel bats look under "Youth Big Barrel" or "Senior League" bats.
Brett
Just a simple question because i cant decide which one to get the CF4 or CF5 Andrew
In terms of performance, feel and balance, there's not going to be much of a difference between the two. The CF5 does use a higher end composite material that is supposed to be stronger, but just as high performing as the composite in the CF4.
Jeff
Is this bat approved for williamsport tournaments and will it still be approved for 2012 if i get it in 2011 John
Every league is different. Some have banned composite bats. I would check with your local league official for clarifiacation.
Kara
I understand that there are new bat rules for USSSA and TCS tournament play. Is this bat USSSA and BBCOR approved? lmb
This bat does not have the USSSA 1.15BPF stamp that is required. It was made before the ruling came out. Only -3 adult size bats have to be BBCOR certified.
Linda
Since you guys said its a 100% composite then why on the barrel does it say half-half? crusher
It is a half and half composite design. Both the handle and the barrel are composite.
Kara
Which bat would you recommend for a 11 year old tournament ball player? The cf4 or the combat b2? Lillo
I would give the edge to the CF4. It's going to have a little more pop than the B2.
K.B.
Is the CF4 & CF5 BBCOR approved for 2012?? Mark
The youth model does not have to have BBCOR approval. If the player is 14&u or 15 & over then they either have to use an adult size BBCOR OR it must have the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp on it.
Linda
Is this bat stamped with 1.15 bbf? Todd
No, this bat will NOT have the 1.15 b.p.f. stamp on it.
John
Is this bat approved for the upcoming 2012 little league baseball season? Does it come with the required paperwork to show umpires? Fung Fu Chicken
Yes, this bat is little league approved
John
why cant you use in under 65 degrees outside kool
The carbon fibers can sometimes get brittle when the bat gets too cold and break.
Linda
is this bat legal for 2012 play sean
Yes, this bat is going to be approved for Little League and all other associations.
Tim
does this meet the bpf 1.5 test al
This bat does not meet the BPF 1.15 test
Sean
Is this BPF 1.15 for Cal Ripken league? Can you send a list of all approved BFP 1.15 bats? It is difficult to find the approved ones on your web site. Thanks. JAU
We don't have a list of approved bats, because individual leagues have their own amended rules. We only have the basic rules for all the major governing bodies. Your best bet to getting a list would be directly from the league you play in.
Linda
If I were 2 purchase the 2 bat pack deal can i get it in 2 differnt sizes i have 2 boys shandi
Yes, most definitely, you may choose 2 different sizes. Which is one of the reasons we offer the batpacks for people with 2 boys playing and need different sizes.
Linda
My dad says alloys are better and have a bigger sweet spot, is it true? GIO
It depends on the bat. Some 2 piece bats are designed to have an enlongated sweet spot. But generally speaking 1 piece all composites have pretty big sweet spots also.
Linda
What is the performance difference of the CF4 compared to the Louisville Slugger Omaha TPX with St+20 alloy? Kellycola
The CF4 is a 2 piece all composite, the Omaha is a 1 piece alloy. They will perform differently for different batting styles.
Linda
My dad says alumnium bats like the omaha is better than the composite bats like the cf4 GIO
Alloy bats tend to last longer than alloy bats, but composite bats tend to perform better. It will depend on personal preference.
K.B.
is it legal for use in cal ripken 12u trey
As of 12/22/11, this bat does not have USSSA 1.15 on the barrel and will not be legal.
KG
wich has more pop, cf4 st of cf5 homerun king
They are designed along the same lines, so the feel will be similar. The new CF5 has the new TR3 Strut composite, which is designed to have a bit more pop.
Linda
Is this bat approved for USSSA tournaments in 2012 Mike
No this bat does not have a USSSA stamp. It is legal for little league play.
Shelbe
What do the numbers at the head of the cf4 stand for? carl
The numbers indicate the length and weight of the bat.
Kara
Is this bat good for singles hitter? coach
Yes. This would be suitbabe for singles hitters.
K.B.
Is this bat BBCOR approved for for USSSA. Shows a -8 and USSSA says -3 is the max? Bruce

first time buying a composite bat. my son is 12. how do I know what size and weight. this is alot of money to get it wrong. Ben
I would recommend checking our "Bat Coach" to the right of the search bar. I feel like this will be helpful to selecting the correct size.
John
If the bat has the BPF 1.15 stamp only but not the the USSSA stamp on it can I still use it to play in the USSSA league Majagua
Thank you for your question. For USSSA Baseball, youth small barrels will not require the new USSSA BFP stamp until 2014. I would also advise you to speak with your coaches and league director just to be safe.
Nick

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
