Pros:  unreal pop. this bat has a much bigger barrel than the Cat 6 so if you happen to "jam" yourself a little you'll still get the barrel on the ball and this ball will fly. You'll love it

Cons:  it feels a little heavier than a Cat6 but its still balanced. its a slight difference but you'll get used to it and its not a bad thing

Pros:  This bat has a massive sweet spot and is very balanced which gives you swing speed and control. I have swung the cat 5,6 and 7 all throughout high school and travel ball and put a beating on all of them. The durability and pop in these bats is like no other. As a competitive player I have swung every bat in the book and can't seem to find anything better than the Marucci Cat series. If you're looking for a bat that is smooth, balanced and produces the pop and power you need, look no more. The Marucci Cat7 will not be beat.

Cons:  The grip is slick until you use it for a few games

Pros:  First of all this is the 4th Marucci Bat my son has used. He used the cat Cat 5 squared, Cat 6 at -5, Cat 6 at -3 and Finally we got our hands on the Cat 7 and he didn't skip a beat. We've tried along the way a couple of composite bats, but He always comes back to the Cat7. The sweet long barrel just adds to the nice level swing he loves from the "Cats". You can see the balance and pop on plenty of his YouTube videos on Ed Hernandez channel. There are 5 of these now on our team. One other great thing is that they are easy to resale with plenty of pop for months in cool, hot or cold temperatures. Great all season!!!

Cons:  None what so ever.

Pros:  I have the standard CAT7 and it is truly the best bat I have ever owned. First of all, it is a gogreous bat while still sticking to the traditional CAT series format. Secondly, the overall feel of the CAT7 is amazing and just feels right. Marucci really hit the nail on the head with the new CAT7.

Cons:  My only complaint about this bat is that when you hit the ball, it makes a loud and high-pitched pinging noise. But, it is easy to get past.

Pros:  This bat has a ton of pop. I own the cat 6 and thought marucci could never make a better bat. They proved me wrong. The cat 7 is unbelievable. It has a ton of pop a long with a huge sweet spot. It's so balanced and smooth. I was impressed with the bat the second I picked it up, And I was sold on it after my first swing. When you square a ball up perfectly it sounds beautiful. I would definitely recommend this bat to anyone in the market looking to hit dingers!

Cons:  The only con I can think of is that marucci is going to have a tough time making a better bat than the cat 7!

Pros:  This bat has some insane pop I have been using it for a little over two weeks and it is just fantastic, this bat highly outclasses many other BBCOR bats including the MAKO and CF8. The huge sweet spot helps make it to where anytime you hit the ball it will fly, if you had the cat 6 or are new to the CAT series and want a cheap bat that has some serious pop and no vibration this bat is a perfect for you!

Cons:  The grip is slippery but pine tar/batting gloves fix the problem with ease.

Pros:  The Cat 7 is the overall best bat I have owned. It has tremendous pop, an extremely balanced feel, and sounds great when you hit it. Not to mention that the grip is the best in the game, hands down. Even when you don't barrel the ball up or "just miss" the ball still seems to jump off the bat better than others. The Cat 7 is a great bat and I would highly recommend it over any others, especially if you like the feel of a one piece aluminum.

Cons:   Nothing

Pros:  Wow! Just wow! This bat has a humongous barrel and zero vibration. And i mean zero vibration. I got jammed really bad and didn't feel a thing and still hit it hard. Also, this bat is super light. The -3 version feels like a -5. This is the best bbcor bat ever!

Cons:  Grip is amazing until you start sweating. Once you start to sweat the grip feels like soap all over it but batting gloves or pine tar will do the trick.

Pros:  I love my parents for getting me this bat it has tons of pop, has great grip, no sting at all, and also looks great, the cat 7 is very well balanced and feels great in the hands. The ball comes off this bat like a rocket and you feel nothing when the ball hits the sweet spot. Best bat i've used to this day!!!!

Pros:  the balance, pop, and even the grip is perfect on this bat. Nice size barrel but not oversized, reminds me of a throw back style from the past. It also has A little more ping than the 6 offers if you're in to that. Also incredible graphics and finish.

Cons:  handle just a little larger than most bats.

Pros:  the pop on this bat is Amazing, best i have ever used! the vibration on thr bat is also best i have ever used! if i hit on the inside or end it dont hurt at all. the wait distrubution is Amazing, it feels really light but at the same time has enough weight on the barrel / end of the bat that you need. the bat last very long, ( still using it of corse. ) it gets no scratches on it like Eastons will. i know some say the grip nesds batting gloves or it gets slippy when your hands get swetty, i hace not experianced that. i like the grip that comes with it better than lizard skin. nothing against lizard skin, i really like lizard skin grip tape but this is better. Don't get a Easton, or a Demarini, or a Louisville slugger, or anything else! get a Marruci cat 7!!!! if i had to describe this bag in one word it would be AMAZING.

Cons:  absolutly nothing

Pros:  I have been using this bat in the cages and wow it is one monster. This bat has a all new feel to it with a more level swing and intense bat speed through the zone. I have used Mako's for the past 2 years but i decided to go outside the box and try this new Cat 7 and it was a great change it is just as strong and well built as any Mako and even from a change from composite to all alloy the bat still performs as well as any other composite bat. Overall great all round bat.

Cons:  Vibration on the handle but that is normal for any alloy bat bat especially one piece. Grip is ok but might wear down after a while.

Pros:  Great Balance, My 6'1", 160# son stepped up from a 32/29 hybrid to this one in a 33/30 configuration and says they feel the same, despite the extra weight. They may feel the same, but the results are night and day. He was crushing the Cat7. When I started hitting outfield flies to him, I didn't need nearly the effort and sent a couple to the fence by mistake. The handle has a perfect taper to the knob.

Cons:  Can emit a very loud ping when you crush a ball.

Pros:  In the 12 years my son has played, I have never seen the ball come off the bat like this. It definitely decreases the fielders range. It does seem to have a huge sweet spot. He has cleared the fence a few times in BP. Can't wait for the games to start.

Cons:  My son doesn't wear gloves and the grip seems to get slick. We replaced it with a lizard skin.

Cons:  Unless you don't like hitting good, buy this bat. ZER0 cons whatsoever

Pros:  Not quite sure what Marucci has figured out that the other brands haven't but they keep getting better. My son has played travel ball since he was 8. He's now 15 and moved into highschool and the BBcore bat. Throught the years he's tried many different brands and always seems to come back to the Marucci Cat series bat. After spending almost double the price on another BBcore he went back to the Marucci and finished the year out with it. He watches the internet daily and cannot wait until the Cat 8 comes out so he can get it in the cage. Thank you Marucci for making such a quality bat at a fair price.

Pros:  Great pop, longer barrel, and swings great. All these bbcors are close to the same, so there's no need in spending $200 extra dollars on a bat that won't outperform this bat. Find one that feels good to you, and go with it.

Pros:  Well, where to start. For summer ball, my parents bought me the easton z core speed. I thought it was a good bat until the bottom knob broke. Then for my birthday I asked for a new bat and batting gloves. I looked everywhere for a great bat. Then I settled for the Cat 7. Once I got it I was so happy. The bat looked cool and the grip was insane! I hope this bat stays for my next few seasons.

Cons:  the grip wares out fast.

Why spend $400 when you could have the best bat for $250. these bats have the best pop and general feel. Pros:  The Ball Comes of this bat great. I know that BBCOR is supposed to make bats be the equivalent to wood, but i feel no resemblance to a wood bat at all. When I swing this bat, It doesn't even feel like I'm hitting a baseball, much less a foam ball. Hottest BBCOR Bat I have ever swung.

Cons:  The Grip can become slippery when cold or wet. Very thick grip.

My son won't be 14 until April and plays 14U and is going into 8th grade. He is already 5'11" and 135 pounds. Which bat size would you recommend?

I would probably recommend a 32" length for his current height and weight, or a 33" size if you want something he'll be able to grow into.

I have a 10 year old playing minor division, he’s 5’4” and goes 170lbs. He’s killing the ball and along with that denting bats! We’ve went through 3 already! Just hit a 210 foot Home Run out of a major field. What kind of bat should he get that’ll be somewhat indestructible for him. We just got him a 32” -8 and that’s what he hit that HR with he likes the weight but the aluminum alloy isn’t holding up to his hitting any recommendations would be appreciated?

I would recommend at getting your 10 year old a -5 in the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC75. This bat at this weight will hold up and not dent and I don't believe will be too heavy, as the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 most likely would be.

Whether to get the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 or the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Connect BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBCC7 is more personal preference. Generally speaking, a hitter that is more of a contact hitter may benefit more from the overall balanced swing weight of the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7.

Which thickness is the stock grip on the bat? I need to wrap it for a lefty. It feels thick.

Marucci does not specifically list the grip tape thickness, but their models appear to come with a 1.1 mm grip tape thickness. To wrap it for a lefty, just reverse the standard tape direction that is found on most models, as they are wrapped for the more common right handed player.

(1) What's a better overall bat: Cat 6, Cat 7 or Velo? (2) Best value? (3) Looking for a bat to compliment my Quatro. Should I search for a light-weight, two-piece bat?

(1) The best rated bat between the bats being considered is the Cat 7. (2) I think the VELO gives the best combo of price ($179.99) and performance (5 out of 5 average rating in all categories). (3) You don't have to have another two-piece bat since you already have a Quatro. I think any of these bats would be another decent bat to have in your bag along with the Quatro.

My son needs to go to BBCOR and we were looking at the 30” Cat 7 or the Solo 618. He is currently using a 30” -5 Cat 7 and is a contact hitter. Which bat do you think will work best?

Considering your player is already playing, and comfortable, with the Cat 7 model, I would recommend the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7. This bat has extremely consistent performance off the barrel and the AV2 knob is in place to negate vibrations felt upon contact, allowing for more comfortable use.

My son has been using a 31"/21 oz bat and needs to move to a BBCOR. He is almost 15 years old, 5'4" and weighs 125 - 135 pounds. I would prefer to get him a 32" so he can use it for a while, but do you think that is too big of a change?

It will be a large change regardless of what size you choose since you are jumping from a -10 to a -3. We generally recommend players using a -5 or -8 a year before high school just to lessen that jump. I think both a 31" or a 32" would work for a BBCOR model, and it would be mostly down to personal preference.

Based off the information you've provided, I would recommend the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 in a 31" length. It will be a fairly big jump to go from a -10 to a -3 but as your player grows and works with the bat, he will become more comfortable with it.

I am 15 and 6’1 at 200 lbs. Should I be swinging the 33 or 34 inch bat?

My son is 5’ tall and 100 lbs, going into 8th grade. He played 13/14 fall league and will play 13/14 Summer 2018. He also travels. I can’t decide on a BBCOR 30/27 or a USA 31/26.

I think the USA baseball bat in a 31"/26 oz might be better in the short term since it seems about right for his size, although you would need a BBCOR model once he gets into high school, so if you don't want to buy a second bat a year from now I would go with the BBCOR.

My son is 14 years old, he is 5'0" and he weighs about 170. What length of bat should I get him? Also, this bat is a BBCOR 2 5/8" barrel, is that too small?

We would recommend a 32" or 33" length for his height and weight. All BBCOR bats will have a 2 5/8" barrel diameter, so it is the correct size. 2 3/4" is not allowed in BBCOR leagues or high school.

I cannot decide between the CAT 6 and CAT 7. I am 5’7” 150 lbs. I have quick hands and am strong for size and age (16). I don't hit for power, I hit for contact and base hits. Which do you recommend?

Both the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 and the CAT 6 model would work well for a contact hitter as both bats feature a balanced swing weight design. For most, the CAT 7 feels slightly better balanced due to the new AZ4X alloy being used. As for the correct size to get, based on your height and weight a 32 inch model would be ideal.

How does the Cat 7 compare to the LS Omaha 518? Based on balance, pop, vibration, etc?

The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 and the 2018 Louisville Slugger Omaha 518 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBO518B3 are very similar from a construction standpoint. The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 features AZ4X Alloy which is considered to be very strong and responsive. The 2018 Louisville Slugger Omaha 518 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBO518B3 features ST 7U1 Alloy which delivers a larger sweet spot and tends to be more stiff. From a vibration standpoint, the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 features a new AV2 Knob that helps minimize negative vibration. Lastly, the 2018 Louisville Slugger Omaha 518 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBO518B3 features a new 6-Star Premium Performance end cap which might give it an edge from a balance standpoint.

What is the difference in -3 or -10 on the bats?

The “drop” as some may call it, the number with the minus in front of it as others call it, or the length-to-weight ratio. What this term defines is the difference between the length of the bat in inches and the weight of the bat in ounces. The larger the number, the lighter the bat. For example, The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 features a -3 drop weight so a 30" bat will weigh 27 ounces. In comparison, the 2018 Marucci CAT 7 -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC7X10 features a -10 drop weight so a 30" bat would weigh 20 ounces.

Why is it that college guys prefer aluminum bats like this more then composite?

One-piece bats are stiffer in comparison to a two-piece bat and will offer less flex during a player’s swing. These bats tend to be geared more toward a power hitter with above average swing speed. Typically, college players won't need extra swing speed at that level and will prefer the durability of a bat like the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7.

Many players feel as though the Cat 7 is very well balanced, so I would give it the slight edge over the Voodoo One in that regard. Both are going to offer the same pop with the BBCOR certification.

The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) is a lot more balanced than the Axe. It will help his bat speed due to the balanced aspect.

My son is 14, 5'7" and 135 lbs. He used a 2016 DeMarini Voodoo (31"/22 oz) as a 13 year old. Next year for AAU he needs to use a BBCOR bat. I would like to get him swinging a BBCOR soon. His swing is a bit long so my guess is a balanced BBCOR would be right for him. What are your thoughts between the 2017 Cat 7 and the 2018 Voodoo Balanced?

Both this 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) and the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR Baseball Bat (WTDXVBC) will feature balanced swing feels. However, this CAT 7 has tons of reviews and the reviews are of pretty excellent quality. My general suggestion would be to go with the CAT 7 in the 31"/28 oz size.

I want a new bat for my travel league. Is that CAT 7 worth $50 more than the CAT 6?

I would say that this 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) will probably have a little more performance to it. The reason I say this is because this CAT 7 features new AZ4X Alloy that is stronger and has a higher response rate. As well, the sweet spot on this CAT 7 is designed to be nearly twice as big as the sweet spot on the CAT 6. If that is worth extra money is really going to vary from person to person.

I'm 5'4" and 13 years old. Is this bat in a 32/29 a good size?

The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 is a one-piece all alloy model featuring a balanced swing weight. This makes the bat a great option for any type of hitter. With that said, a 32 inch model may be too big for someone that is 13 years of age and is 5'4". It will ultimately come down to your overall strength and what weight you can handle successfully.

How many seasons would this bat last if our season is 40 games long?

If you only used it for practice and games during the season and not year round, you should be able to get 2-3 seasons out of the bat if proper care is taken. Some exceptions are always a possibility however, and some bats can last 4-5 seasons while others may only last one.

The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 and the Rawlings Velo are very similar bats, so it would be hard to say one is better than the other. The Velo seems to be a bit more balanced than the Cat 7, but the Cat 7 offers a little larger sweet spot. Either bat would be a great option.

What's the difference between this Cat 7 and the DeMarini CF Zen -3 bats? For what kind of player would the Marucci bat be better and for what kind of player would the DeMarini be better?

This 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) and the DeMarini CF Zen will be different in their general design. The CAT 7 will be a one-piece, all-alloy bat. The CF Zen will be a two-piece, all-composite bat. Both bats are pretty balanced in their swing feel. I think a power or contact hitter could excel with either bat depending upon the player's preferences for a bat.

The standards for USSSA and BBCOR are different, so you actually won't find a bat that is 1.15 BPF certified for USSSA and allowed for high school play. Most USSSA leagues still allow BBCOR bats however, as the BBCOR standard is lower than USSSA's, but you will have to check with your league rules to be sure. Shopping for a 13 year old that is 5'5" and 95 lbs. Which bat would you suggest: the CAT 7 or the Whiteout Z-Core?

Based upon his height and weight, I would probably recommend a 30" BBCOR bat. I would recommend this 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7). Not only does it get great reviews, it also can be purchased in the 30"/27 oz size.

I would recommend this 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) as it is possibly the highest rated BBCOR bat we are carrying from the 2017 releases when you consider the amount of reviews we have received on the bat and the quality of those reviews.

Both the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) and the 2017 Rawlings Velo BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB7V) are extremely high end performance bats. Both feature a similar design with a one piece aluminum design. They are going to be about the same performance wise but the Cat 7 does have a $50 advantage in price.

Based upon your height and weight, I would recommend getting a BBCOR bat in the 32" length. I think you are considering two great bats and will not go wrong with either choice. However, up to the time of your question, I would have to say that this CAT 7 is probably the top rated 2017 BBCOR bat we are carrying at JustBats when you consider the quality of the reviews received and the quantity of the reviews received.

Since he is only 13 years old, I would suggest getting the 33" length of this 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7). I am a little nervous that going with the extra long 34" length at such an early age will be a little bit of a burden (even though he is so tall).

The decision will come down to whether you want the most optimal bat for right now or if you want to get something that can be used more in the future (and save you some money by not having to buy another bat next year).

Both the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) and the 2017 Rawlings 5150 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB75) are going to be great, high end bats. I'm getting a new bat for my birthday and I was wondering which bat I should get. I was think either the 2016 MAKO or the Cat 7. I was wondering which bat will perform better. I had the Cat 6 last year and loved it but I used the MAKO for fall ball and hit amazing with it. Which one should I choose?

The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) and the 2017 Easton MAKO BEAST BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB17MK) are going to be very good options. The Cat 7 is going to be much cheaper through, and the Cat series has been one of the highest rated series of bats that we have ever had. With the new AZ4X Alloy and a Sweet Spot that is twice as long as the Cat 6 that you liked, I would go with the Cat 7. It is a good update over the Cat 6 which was already a great bat.

I honestly do not think I can give the edge to either one. If you are going to choose one over the other it would be about the major differences in the bats rather than the balance. The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) is going to perform a little bit more highly than the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR (MCBC614). This is due to the AZ4X Alloy used in the CAT 7. It is going to be stronger and more responsive than the aluminum used in the CAT 6. The barrel has also been redesigned on the CAT 7 and is going to have a much larger sweet spot. Marucci does not release a new version of the CAT series every single year so when they do release a new version, a lot of time and research went into designing the new bat.

All three are going to be very good options. Currently the DeMarini CF8 is not available and it has been sold out for a decent amount of time. The Easton Z Core and the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 are going to be very similar bats. They are both going to be really good options. This 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7) will come with a one-piece, all-alloy build to it which will result in a balanced swing weight on the bat. The Prime 917 will differ as it has a two-piece design and an all-composite build. As well, the Prime 917 will have a pretty balanced feel to it. Both bats could be used by any style of hitter. The big difference between the two bats will come from the feel the bats produce at contact with the ball. This Cat 7 provides a more stiff feel at contact while the Prime 916 will feature more flex. Description for 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat
New for 2017! This 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 is similar to that of the CAT 5 and CAT 6, only double the power! You are really going to scare some people if you come to the plate with this bat. Marucci has done a fantastic job of upping the ante from year to year and improving on an already masterful design. One of the main differences from last years CAT 6 to this CAT 7 is the new and improved AZ4X Alloy that dramatically improves durability and strength. Additionally, the optimized barrel design is more responsive and offers a sweet spot that is twice as large in comparison to the CAT 6. Through Marucci's engineer's extensive research and consultation with their player advisory board made up of big leaguers, they determined that one of the most common complaints among amateur baseball players is vibration in the hands. The brand-new AV2 Knob, also known as the second generation anti-vibration knob, offers a much better feel and remarkably less vibrational feedback in players' hands. Furthermore, the proven ring-free barrel technology continues to produce unmatched performance with absolutely no 'dead' spots. The combination of these new features results in a traditional, one-piece, all alloy, best balanced, most forgiving, sweetest feeling, and hardest hitting bat available.

The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC7 features a -3 length to weight ratio, a 2 5/8 inch barrel diameter, and the BBCOR certification which makes it legal for play at the high school and collegiate level. Also, Marucci is backing this monster of a bat with a full twelve (12) month manufacturer's warranty. Marucci: Honor The Game! Be the talk of the town and make sure to get your own CAT 7 today with fast, free shipping.
