The first rendition of the Atlas was released in the fall of 2022 and immediately regarded as one of the best bats in BBCOR. Now, with another year of ideas and innovation under its belt, the Louisville Slugger Atlas BBCOR bat (WBL2845010) is primed for a huge 2024 season. It features a balanced swing weight and a newly redesigned alloy barrel. The Atlas requires no break-in period, enabling hitters to begin swinging immediately after the wrapper is removed.
Looking further into the features Louisville Slugger implemented on the 2024 Atlas, we notice the end cap. The SPD Gen-2 End Cap is made from composite materials and serves to barrel at the end of the bat while further optimizing barrel performance and removing additional weight from the barrel. Working through the construction, hitters have already begun to notice the Turned Mass Damper (TMD). The TMD works to absorb vibrations and protect hitters’ hands from mishit balls.
The Atlas will come standard with a Premium LS Pro Comfort Grip. However, any bat purchased from JustBats is eligible for a Lizards Skins bat grip pre-applied upon purchase. Slugger has inversed the Atlas colorway. We now see a primarily blue barrel with orange accents making it less noticeable, but arguably most aesthetically pleasing.

Pros - This is easily the best BBCOR bat I've ever swung. It has a perfectly balanced swing weight - easy to control and the bat feels like it's hot from the hands to the end of the barrel. When I hit the ball perfect perfect, it feels like the hottest 1 piece ever. When I hit it off the hands or off the end, it feels like the most forgiving 2 piece ever! The forgiveness of the barrel and power of this bat makes hitting fun again. Can't wait till the season starts
Cons - None. This bat fits me perfectly.
Pros - It doesn’t matter if you’re a power hitter or a contact hitter, this bat is for you! It has a great sweet spot with some power! It’s really easy to whip through the zone! Some people might not like the color, but I don’t really mind it!
Cons - None!
Pros - Fire hot and very forgiving. Bought as a cold weather option to use with the 2022 META being primary. Since using the Atlas we have all but retired the META. Larger sweetspot than the CATX, easier on the hands and just as hot.
Cons - BBCOR Atlas is a little heavier than the CATX but my [son] controls the barrel well.

Louisville Slugger Atlas vs. DeMarini Voodoo One
We often field questions from customers asking us about the differences between bats. One of the most popular questions this year has been how does the Louisville Slugger Atlas compare to the DeMarini Voodoo One?
First off, it’s an excellent question. Both bats are highly-popular and provide hitters with big power potential. Both utilize a one-piece alloy construction. However, one of the main differences between the Atlas and Voodoo One is in the sweet spots of the barrel. The Atlas sports a larger sweet spot than the Voodoo One. This gives hitters slightly more forgiveness on contact. Inversely, the DeMarini Voodoo One (WBD2461010) does have a lighter swing weight than the Atlas. Lastly, the Atlas gets a slight edge in feel. The Turned Mass Damper on the Atlas dissipates vibrations at an impressive clip. While the Voodoo One might have a slight advantage in power, the Atlas delivers everything a hitter could want.
Overall, both BBCOR baseball bats are excellent options for experienced high school and college-aged hitters.
Louisville Slugger Atlas vs. Marucci CATX Vanta
Much like the Voodoo One, the Marucci CATX Vanta is creating tons of buzz in the bat community. So how does the Louisville Slugger Atlas stack up to the Marucci CATX?
Just like the DeMarini Voodoo One and Louisville Slugger Atlas, the Marucci CATX Vanta (MCBCXV) is a one-piece all-alloy BBCOR baseball bat. The CATX Vanta is a balanced bat with excellent vibration-mitigating technology. However, the Slugger Atlas seems to have a slight advantage over the CATX regarding both its sweet spot and power. The CATX Vanta is a lighter swinging bat compared to the Atlas. Both of these bats are in the conversation for the best BBCOR bat in 2024.
Similar to the Voodoo One, the CATX Vanta and Atlas are great baseball bats and should be considered by any hitter looking for a new BBCOR baseball bat.
