Taking the field for the first time is one of the most exciting moments in a young player’s life, and even more exciting for the parents. While it is often followed up with a series of: playing in the dirt, getting lost in a piece of bubblegum, or just daydreaming about who knows what, playing t-ball is the first experience for young players to learn the game of baseball or softball.
You likely already have a uniform, and maybe a youth glove, but we often field calls from shoppers looking for the best bat for tee ball. To help guide you to the right bat for your tee ball player, we have compiled a comprehensive list of the best tee ball bats for 2022. Let's get started.
For years, the Louisville Slugger Prime series of baseball bats has been among the most popular in all of baseball. Typically built from composite materials, the tee ball version of the Prime is a one-piece aluminum alloy design. This helps lower the price tag pretty substantially, making it one of the best value tee ball baseball bats around. Another benefit of the Prime is the USA stamp of approval enabling hitters to use it in any form of tee ball around the country. If you are looking for an affordable, quality tee ball bat, you’ll want to checkout the Louisville Slugger Prime USA.
Other Notable Features:
- -12.5 length to weight ratio
- Balanced swing weight
- Improved durability throughout the bat
Jennie Finch is one of the most decorated and iconic softball players of all time. Her career speaks for itself. And her fastpitch tee ball bat is a can’t-miss option for young athletes just starting out. Keep in mind that this bat, while it has the term “fastpitch” in the name, is intended to only hit softballs off a tee. If it hits thrown softballs, it could be damaged.
Other notable features include:
- -13 length to weight ratio
- Balanced swing weight
- One-piece, aluminum alloy construction
If you are looking to find a tee ball bat that checks all of the boxes, this is your bat. The combination of the balanced swing weight and 2 ⅝” barrel diameter builds confidence in young hitters’ swings. A one-piece composite design is both durable and responsive, however the price tag is slightly higher than the other bats on this list. If you are looking for the top tee ball bat or a bat to use for two years (or to hand down to a younger sibling) the ADV is a great investment.
Here’s a bat review we received regarding the Easton ADV:
Sullivan the Grandparent
Pros: Bought this bat for my 5yr old grandson. He started practice 3 weeks ago at the cages. So far I'm pretty impressed with it. The ball jumps off the bat and he appears to be hitting it farther. It is lightweight which helps him turn on the ball more
Cons: Not a fan of the sound of it. Sounds like a broken driver (golf club) not a ping like the big boy bats.
As one of the most reviewed tee ball bats we have available, the DeMarini CF Zen has proven its performance over the years. But if you are looking to get more than one year out of your bat, it does seem like the paint can start to chip away after extended use. Definitely not a deal breaker but certainly worth keeping in mind when shopping for a new tee ball bat.
Here’s one of the CF Zen bat reviews we received:
Pam the Parent
Pros: So lightweight. Feels like a toy. Very inexpensive. Always gets a good hit. If it lasts the season we got our money’s worth.
Cons: The paint started peeling off the first time he used it. We have only had it a couple of months it looks like we have had it for years.
