"Hi There at JustBats.com! I just thought that someone at Just Bats should hear this incredible, but true story about an order we placed with you back in May 2006. Last year, my son Shane, desperately wanted a DeMarini Vexxum bat - however, he already had a bat and we said "not this year". Just this spring, Shane was getting ready to turn 12 in June. He had saved up his own money over the year from the holidays and earnings, and came to us, his parents, pleading to let him buy a DeMarini Vexxum bat with his own money. His father frowned at the idea of him spending ALL that money on one bat, but we decided that Shane's heart was truly in it - and he was willing to spend every last dime of his own money, to get his "dream bat". The order was placed that afternoon, online (I can get that date). To his disappointment, he was told that he would have to wait an entire two days for the bats arrival. Yeah baby - IT CAME THE VERY NEXT DAY! At around 3pm the next day, the door bell rang. It was the UPS man - and he had Shane's order! He literally ran to the front door - I told the UPS man, that this is the happiest boy right here! He was ecstatic to say the least. Here's where it gets even more interesting. The phone rings, and there is another team down at our baseball field that is short a player on their team. They ask if Shane can fill in for one of their players - he has to be there in about 2 hours! No dinner again, Shane's got another ball game. Shane's father takes him down to the field. I stayed home, it really wasn't Shane's team playing, so I didn't go.........................big mistake! After the game, Shane walked in the door and said, "Mom , you missed my home run!"....For a moment, I was forgetting that he had just filled in for a player, his own team had not actually played a scheduled game. I would NEVER miss a scheduled game of Shane's! I said, "What?" Shane said, "Mom, you'll never believe it. I had my brand new DeMarini bat, only 3 hours old. It was my turn up to bat. The first pitch came in, and I killed it, the ball went over the fence!" I said "No way, with your new bat? First pitch? A home run?!" It was the story around the Aston Middletown Little League for the next few weeks. I kept meaning to write to you at Just Bats, but I kept forgetting. Aren't you glad I did?!"
