Description

Get your Freak on this season with the newest installment of this beloved Miken classic! The Freak FX700 is a 100% composite bat constructed with some of the most innovative technology on the market. The Freak starts out with Miken's R900 Carbon Fiber that provides 38.8% higher tensile strength and 40% higher elongation than the industry standard. This composite material is proven to endure grueling play and deliver unrivaled durability. The barrel is enhanced with Durashell Technology (DST) which acts as a composite shield on the outer shell, maximizing performance right out of the wrapper. Inside the barrel, Miken uses HBF Technology to create a multi-layer wall that is 100% "fully released" for extreme hot-out-of-the-wrapper play. Furthermore, the proprietary layering of these walls extends the barrel flex which results in a 20% larger sweetspot! This hitting surface is then perfected using Miken's Advanced Inner Flex Technology that delivers precisely calibrated handle flex and energy transfer to optimize barrel rebound. For the player this means maximum trampoline effect, maximum ball speed and maximum distance! The Freak is finished off with an Extreme X-Tack grip that gives players the optimal amount of tack for true comfort and bat control. Miken: Elite Equipment for the Elite Player! The Freak FX700 comes with a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: Nice pop off the bat. Launching the ball in the cages with little effort. Can't wait to unleash in a game.

Cons: Handle is a little thin for me, but some grip tape will remedy that.

Pros: Graphics look great on the bat. Everyone who has used it has made great compliments about it. Takes 50+ hits before it really starts popping. Awesome sound.

Pros: Good pop off the bat, very good looking but still getting used to it. My first Miken bat and I do like the flat finish look. My first 3 games I hit 4 triples, 2 doubles and had 10 RBI's

Cons: Whoever says it is hot out of the wrapper is BS. I am 6'2 235 and played college ball and this bat needs about 150 swings to start stroking it. It is just now getting warmed up but I expect in a month or two the balls will be flying out of the park

Pros: Got the 28oz bat but felt it was heavier than my other Miken Freak Turbo which is 28oz. I did get a walk off home-run which a blast between Left and Center field but I think I would have been better off with the 26oz bat.

Pros: I didn't agree that this bat was hitting "great" right out of the wrapper. It needed to be broke in. End load makes it feel heavier than other bats, but it is way nice once it is broke in. I normally use my Miken MV3, but after this bat was broke in I haven't touched my MV3.....great bat...but take it out and hit a few times first before play.

Cons: 25-30 hits to break in....not bad though. Ball comes flying off of the bat.

Pros: Excellent addition to my bag! Right out of the box and unwrapped I could feel the difference and the visable results were even better. Ground balls are now too hot to handle, line drives have that "sizzle" sound as they find the gaps, and the long ball finds me more than I have to go looking for it. Last tournament I was 11 for 15 with 4 HRs & 4 high off the the 20 foot fence.

Pros: I used this bat in a friendly tournament. This bat had great pop straight out of the wrapper. First at bat, pulled down the line, with third sitting on it, and it was too hot to get. Second at bat, about 315 over center field fence. The other two games, the ball is coming off fast. End load feels nice, I used a 26 oz. Didn't feel it much on the handle even if I mishit the ball, and it still come off quick then too. This is a great bat to have, esp if you want to use it in all sanctioned formats. A must have.

Cons: None through the first three games.

When does this bat come out? wheels1991
It's actually available now. The sizes available will be shown on the top right side of this page.

What one is better...Maxload or Balanced? jmeyers
That all depends on the player's strength and personal preferences. If you are able to maintain optimal swing speed and the same bat control with a Maxload/Endloaded bat as you can with a Balanced bat, it'll probably be beneficial. A balanced bat may be more ideal for a player who is not as strong and finds they lose bat control or lose swing speed when swinging a Maxloaded/Endloaded bat. I would recommend finding a Maxloaded or Endloaded bat locally and taking a few swings with one.
Mark
WHAT IS THE ASA standard miles it meets? me
All ASA bats conform to the 98 MPH standard.
JH
How does this bat compare to the old "Freak98"? wgelakosky
This bat will still be a great performer; however being that rules have changed this bat won't be as hot as it once was.

im looking to see if there is a hight and weight that goes with the weight of the bat Iron clad
For slow pitch softball, it more depends on the strength of the player and swing speed. The most common weight slow pitch bats for adult males is 27 and 28 ounces. I'm 6'3" 205 lbs, slightly above average strength, and I am most comfortable with a 28 ounce bat (although I commonly bounce back and forth between a 27 and 28 ounce). I also know some players roughly the same size as me, but a little stronger, and they prefer a 29 or 30 ounce bat.

Is it possible to put a second grip on it to make the grip thicker. I have big hands and do not like the smaller grips. I would purchase a 34x29. Anything that gives a thicker grip would work Coach P
Yes, it is possible to wrap a 2nd grip around it to make it thicker. I know many that do just that.
gamer
What difference besides green graphics and a higher price does the ASA model have over the USSSA model? Fenway Frank
Since USSSA is changing their rules, the USSSA bats are on closeout. So,they are going to be priced lower than the ASA bats.
K.B.
I heard there are 2 versions of the FX700, which is best? Todd
There are actually four versions of the FX700. There are two ASA approved bats, one end loaded and one balanced. There are two USSSA approved bats, one end loaded and one balanced. The USSSA bats are going to be hotter than the ASA bats. It will be personal preference if you wish to have a balanced or end loaded bat.

Does the bat choice matter if you are going to be hitting a "clincher" or a harder ball such as a dudley (with leather and seams)? rr33
You probably would want to look at a bat that is designed for play with balls that will be a little more dense. You could run into durability issues if not.
Gil
I have been playing ball for about four years and have never purchased my own bat I am looking to do that now. I play at a D level game which is recreational. It this a good bat or is there one you could suggest? Wolverine
This is a very balanced slow pitch bat, that will need some breaking in, but I think this would be good for many types of hitters.
Shelbe
can this bat be used in ssusa senior league in florida thanks danny
Yes, this bat can be used in SSUSA senior league
Sean
Is there any differance in 30oz or 28oz. meaning when a12in. ball is hit the lighter bat flexes more with less drive in distance. i use 26oz.and it seem to light for 12in. ball thanks danny danny
The extra weight might give you a little more power through the ball. But as far as performance differences, no difference.
Linda
I see weights of 26 28 and 30. does it have a 27? Wolverine
We are currently out of stock in the 27 oz.
Kara
what temp is it ok to use this bat? House 78
We suggest not using composite bats in any temp below 45 degrees
Sean
Will this bat have the new stamps? Kyle
This is the most recent model of this bat and is certified for ASA slow pitch softball.

About the Brand

During the past few years, serious softball players have looked to Miken Sports for bats that provide the highest levels of performance and durability. Our relentless focus on both technology and the demands of players has made Miken the most demanded line of softball bats today.

Although composites are the latest trend in softball bats, the technology has been the core of Miken's success since the company's inception. Miken pioneered the modern high-performance composite softball bat in 1998 and has pushed the limits with every model since. No other bat company has driven innovation as hard, and the results are indisputable. Look around. If a player is serious about softball, they are most likely swinging a Miken bat.

The success of Miken Sports has been driven by two forces - innovation and a passion for delivering what players demand. The results are obvious. Players have decided that composites are the future for bats, and no one does composite like Miken.
