Louisville Slugger Atlas BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2845010

Set sail and forge your path to greatness with the Atlas BBCOR Bat by Louisville Slugger!

Bat Benefits

Striving to build on the successes of the inaugural Atlas, Louisville Slugger has sought help from the latest in artificial intelligence and kinetic response software to deliver a bat that is a league of its own!

Their research resulted in an alloy masterpiece that's highlighted by Slugger's EVOKE Alloy barrel utilizing variable wall thickness across the barrel to create a massive sweet spot and optimize performance. Slugger also incorporates a reimagined composite SPD-Gen2 End Cap at the barrel's end to amplify swing speeds without compromising power. Additionally, the handle is integrated with a Tuned Mass Damper (TMD) to obliterate unwanted vibrations and stings associated with the occasional mis-hit!

With its updated look and refined features, this rendition of the Louisville Slugger Atlas BBCOR Baseball Bat provides consistent power and total barrel control to help high school and college ballplayers thrive!

Warranty

Louisville Slugger now backs their BBCOR Baseball Bats with an Expanded One-Year Warranty against defects and some damages that may occur from routine on-field play. The warranty for BBCOR Bats will end either 1 year after the date of your initial purchase or three months after you receive the last warranty replacement BBCOR Bat within that 1-year period, whichever comes later. For clarity, the maximum duration for this Extended Warranty Period will never exceed 1 year and three months from your original purchase date.

Very balanced, nice pop! JR Parent

Pros: My son was swinging an end-loaded bat (Cat Connect bbcor) that will serve him better when he is older. It was clear he needed something that swings lighter. He is just over 100lbs and playing 14u ball. The Atlas was a great pickup and we could immediately see the difference. His first comment after a session in the cages was, "It feels like I am swinging my Cat9 -5 again." The bat is definitely more forgiving off the hands. He commented that it felt like he hit barrel even when it was inside. The only area that didn't have pop was off the very end. He does not wear gloves when he bats and did get blisters the first time using it. Whatever the technology is that dampens the sting on miss hits, it definitely works. If your kid is just getting into bbcor and is not very big/strong yet, this is a great selection to decrease bat drag and to help catch up with more velocity coming off the mound.

Cons: Nada!

Hot right of the wrapper Jackson Player

Pros: Feels so easy to swing. You can throw the barrel through the zone with ease. I also have a 2 piece composite catx and to be honest the Atlas has more pop and has a lighter feel to it. I was worried about vibration and sting on mis-hits but for a one piece bat there really isnt any. The sweet spot is much larger and forgiving than my catx. I have only swung this bat in the cage but this will be my gamer bat this season.

Cons: None yet. Hopefully it holds up well over the season.

Pros: This bat has such a huge sweet spot and tons of pop! Well balanced BBCOR bat, easy transition if moving from a drop 5 bat. My son is 13yrs old, about 5'6", 155lbs. Every time someone smashes the ball with the Atlas the team chants "its the ATLAS!!!". Highly recommended!

Best Bat Ive Ever Owned Dylan Player

Pros: This thing BANGS. Sweet spot is absolutely gigantic, so much pop to a point where I would even put it up there with the goods two piece. The thing that makes this bat what it is though is the swing weight. This thing is a toothpick, and having so much pop and so much barrel while having that super light swing weight makes this the best one piece on the market. Bat comes with a fantastic taper as well, feels amazing.

Cons: the only thing to complain about is the color. nothing pine tar cant fix.

Up there with the best Player

Pros: To start, it's a pretty light swinging one-piece alloy, down there with the Voodoo One and CatX. Also has a pretty solid sweet spot. Right now I'm sitting 97-100 with this bat which is right there with my #1 bat the Rawlings Icon. Honestly if this bat can prove last through a full season or two, it might take my #1 spot. If you're looking for one of the best bats in the game, but don't wanna spend the extra $150 on the Icon, get this.

Cons: Can't speak for durability yet since I've only had it a couple months.

Great Bat! Dan Parent

Pros: 16yo son has been swinging end-loaded Maruccis since the Cat-8. His 32in CatX Connect broke (end cap came off and 4inch crack). Got this in a 33in and it swings much lighter with at least as much pop and seemingly better vibration dampening (and the CatX was great too). Decided to try this as it was Bat Bros #1 ranked bat and he has started going oppo more and thought the balanced bat would help more. No idea about durability but he loves the bat! It came out the box hot and has been stinging balls to all fields. 375' is about the furthest he's hit it in game so far but can see some HRs coming....

The Louisville Slugger Atlas BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2845010 will feature a lighter swing weight when compared to the CATX thank in large part to the composite end cap design.
Cameron

I live in Ohio and play high school baseball. Temperatures can be anywhere between like 15 and 60. Is there anywhere temperature or weather conditions I should be concerned about using the bat in? Josh
Using any bat under 55 degrees Fahrenheit can be problematic but an alloy barrel bat, like that which is featured on the Louisville Slugger Atlas BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2845010, would be a better option than using a composite barrel bat like the LS Meta.
Cameron
How durable is this bat? I used the original Atlas and it’s end flew off not too long ago. Cooper Davis
We have not heard of any glaring durability issues regarding the Louisville Slugger Atlas BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2845010.
Cameron
My first bbcor bat was a $99 Easton speed ,but now I am looking for a new bat for my 8th grade year and freshman year. I was wondering if the swing weight is about the same or are the different with the atlas and Easton speed? Ian
The Atlas should match the swing weight of the Easton Speed (very balanced). The Atlas will definitly have higher exit velos, and a more forgiving barrel.
Leeah
How many swings would you say it takes for a one piece alloy bat to become dead? I’ve taken about a thousand swings with the Atlas, do you think that’s enough for it to become dead? Kory
BBCOR bats, like the Louisville Slugger Atlas BBCOR Baseball Bat: WBL2845010, can withstand a lot of use over time and a 1000 swings would not make the bat less effective. With that being said, there is no way to know how many swings a bat might be able to withstand before it starts to lose some of its effectiveness.
Cameron

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
