Based on your son's height and weight, we would recommend a 28" or 29" bat. However, the weight of the bat and the actual model that you should choose is really more dependent on the player's strength; which is difficult for us to assess. This 2015 Easton S3 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat (JBB15S3B) would be a great option, but there are lighter models available if you think he might need a lighter bat. The 2015 Easton MAKO Junior Big Barrel Bat (JBB15MKB) will be available this fall and is two ounces lighter in the same length.

The 2015 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S310B) is designed for kid pitch style play and will stand up to higher pitching speeds and is available in larger sizes.

Both the 2015 Easton S3 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat (JBB15S3B) and the 2013 S3 will have the same amount of pop. All three models, the 2013 S3, the 2014 S3, and the 2015 S3 all have to meet the same USSSA performance standards, so one will not outperform the other.
