Pros:  The pros are solid construction, the -11 is very evenly balanced and easy for him to grip. It has a great sweet spot, it swings and feels a lot like his Combat Maxim. The 2 5/8 Barrel dose seem huge, but you get use to it. With batting gloves my 8 year old dose not complain of any sting when hitting off the tip. He is hitting the ball as far with the Ghost X as he did with his Combat Maxim most of the time. I think the trampoline effect is over rated in youth bats and for me this bat proves that. This bat dose have a odd sound, a different tone than the Combat composite or wood but you can hear a foul ball tick off of it pretty well. No one has had this bat long enough to rate durability but Easton is a name you can depend on so for that I'll give it 5 stars.

Cons:  My son changed the Hyper skin to Lizard Skin at purchase. It just feels better to him, he didn't like it on the Mako CXN either. I got him the 30 inch he is 4ft 4 and 65 pounds and chokes up about an inch so he can use it a couple years.

Pros:  This bat was bought for my 9 year old son who plays travel ball. We were replacing a Mako Torq (which doesnt meet the 2018 specs). At first the barrel seems a little too big, but my son is hitting great with it. It had a huge sweet spot and has more pop than expected. He has had little sting as well, even without gloves. Although I was upset that I was forced to buy a new bat, i am definitely happy with the purchase.

Cons:  The bat has good pop, but it makes a flat/dead sound.

Pros:  Nice feel. Sounds similar to wood just a little duller. Like the new standard. Should be much safer and more realistic to wood. Nice balance. Vibration not an issue.

Cons:  Changed the grip to Lizard Skin. Aprox. 10 yard shorter difference from last years Beast.

Pros:  None

Cons:  My Nine year old son said it has a lot of sting to it. nearly only took 5 swings with it and 4 out of the 5 hits the bat stung his hand. Thought if I change the grip, cause the one that come with is thin and use batting gloves would help, but no help at all. I thought he was making it up, so i tried it and first swing it stung. I hit the ball squar and it still stung.

Pros:  He say's it has a great feel to it when he swing's it. Almost no sting on good and bad hit's. It's well balanced (he has 1 new S750 it's a little bit more end weighted tho). More hit's. Bigger sweet spot. Perfect fit for my son.

Cons:  Break in, not sure what that will be at. Should have a better handle wrap and a bat cover for the price you pay. A bit expensive for a kid's bat. (Still the best bat I could get him tho) Don't forget to order the bat cover to protect your investment. Gave this bat 2 star for durability cause we just got it but Easton makes good bats so I imagine it could be a 5 star if it last 2 seasons (From what I've read composite bats don't last more than 2yrs. on avg. besides he's going to out grow it in less than that time anyway)

Pros:  Feels great in hands, off tee, soft toss, tennis balls. Looks nice. Is a true -11. No other positive feedback. Also, this is not a knock on easton. I have two boys and I coach. Purchased 4 different USA easton bats. Ghost X hyperlite for my 10 year old son who is about 70 lbs. Contact, gap, speed, type hitter who hits from the left side, but is right handed. Used Easton S500 -13 last season and loved it. But this is a 2018 USA bat comparison. There is also a chance it's a fluke defect. Also, easton has agreed to replace my Ghost Hyperlite with another Easton bat. Gonna go with the Beast X Hybrid. Tried it, good bat. Way too heavy right now- but could use mid season or next year. I compared the Ghost x hyperlite bat to the LS Solo 618 -11 over five hitting sessions. Two of the sessions had a hitter from each side of the plate. Also, the comparison took place after Easton Ghost X hyperlite was properly broken in.

Cons:  "Holy Stingers Batman"- Please, keep in mind all single piece bats will sting a bit and my son plays primarily catcher so there's toughness there. The results were same with second hitter added. The sting was so bad it would drop him to his knees every 3-4 mishits. He would have to take a break. The LS 618 would sting sometimes, but much less. He referred to those stings as "normal stings" could shake his hands out and continue. "Fools Gold"-Don't be fooled by the big barrel. I found it to have a tiny sweet spot on a huge barrel. When squared up it traveled "maybe" slightly further than LS 618, but doen't square up as often. Also, Mishits go nowhere (after the sting). They knuckle, float, and quickly die out. This means fielders are making outs on those hits. (and batter in pain). It's like the oversized barrel absorbs the energy of the ball. In comparison, the ball really spins and darts with the LS 618 solo. More hits through infield. I would not recommend this bat.

Pros:  My son hit it pretty well. He did complain about sting so, I left the factory wrap on and put a lizzard wrap over it and added a power pad...not a single sting after that, through several buckets of balls.

Cons:  If youre looking for anything like the performance from bats of years past, temper your expectations because you will be dissappointed, regardless of what bat you choose.

Pros:  lots of contact, great feel, pop will inrease, vibration diminishes after long break in period. good line drive bat. the funny sound still there. sounds like hitting baseball with a guitar. but much better results now that its breaking in. Read below how to break in.

Cons:  Price. Very long break in period. Not great in cool weather. I wrote a very critical review of this bat after after several sessions of what I thought was a good break in perod. I compared it to LS Solo 618. I was very dissapointed with the ghost x hyperlite. No pop and lots of stings. To be fair to easton and its product after several sessions with my ten year old I thought bat was broken in. I was wrong. I took it myself and hit over 100 baseballs off tee into net hard with 1/4 turn every time. it loosened bat up substantially. Son likes bat much more now. gets good contact with big barrel. Less stings but weather has been warmer. still has slightly less distance than LS Solo -11. But LS is a little heavier, and ghost x seems to be getting better. Slightly less misses and foul tips with ghost x bcz large barrel. changed my review and keeping bat in use for now.

Pros:  Good feel, big barrel, lots of contact, lite. Good line drive bat. Be patient with break in period- read below how to quicken that process.

Cons:  Very long break in period. After several sessions with my ten year old I thought bat was broken in. I was wrong. I than compared to LS Solo 618 and was very disappointed with ghost x. To be fair to Easton I wanted to make sure bat was broken in. I took it myself and hit over 100 baseballs hard off tee into net. It loosened bat substantially. He likes much more now wants to continue using it and has similar results to LS solo. Maybe slightly more distance at this time still with LS, but less misses and foul tips with larger barrel. Still a tough go in cooler weather, and $100 more than other -11 USA bats with similar results. Also, still sounds like hitting baseball with a guitar, but solid hits.

Pros:  Great Balance and feel. Have a team of 7-8 year olds most have hit with the bat and all can swing and hit the ball good if hit in the sweet spot.

Cons:  Kids who are not as far along in batting and miss more times than not will have the death vibrations in their hands. if your kid can make solid contact 80% of the time great bat for them. Expensive bat and at this price pay the extra and get the two piece.

Pros:  He likes the bat a lot, he’s getting use to the 29/18 I went a little bigger in weight so he can use it a few years(he just turned 9). We’ve had 4-5 hitting sessions with it indoors and he’s had little to no sting at all. Obviously not the same pop as his Combat but I think the difference is minimal.

Cons:  I think the true test of this bat will come much later.

Pros:  Gone are the days of buying a hot bat and making your kid look like an all-star. On par with all other USA bats in terms of distance. My son is on the smaller side so I needed a bat he is comfortable swinging and this is it. Yeah it had some stingers on mishits but so did the other USA bats I've bought. I put a knobcuff on and it seems to have fixed the vibration issue when hitting off the end or handle.

Cons:  $$$ for a made in china bat with a terrible grip, but if you need the lightest bat on the market without giving up barrel size this is your bat.

Cons:  The sting it leaves is horrible, 2 kids one of which is mine both have the same bat, they both have been great hitters playing dicie ball and travel ball, both are 9. Pros:  looks nice. light weight

Cons:  kills my sons hands, every hit. It's got him to where he don't even want to swing hard because it just kills his hands. We've switched to lizard skin, bought better batting gloves and purchased the rubber that you put at end of bat to help absorb some of the shock. This bat was way to much money for him not to use it. I'm calling Easton to try find a resolution. He has been using his friends $89 Rawlings bat and it has great pop and there is little to no vibration. VERY disappointed in this bat. Three other kids on his team have all experienced the same thing.

Pros:  NONE - DO NOT BUY.

Cons:  Bought this bat thinking it would be one of the best of the 2018 USA bats. We were wrong. Ball dies off of the barrel and goes no where. We switched to a LS 618 solo and the same lazy drive that easily falls into second basemen's glove is now reaching the outfield. I have also heard from coaches of several other teams who are very dissatisfied with this bat and all the Easton Ghost bats. The hand sting is so bad my son was intentionally striking out. He was swinging and missing on purpose this bat was so bad. That should tell you something.

Cons:  There is absolutely NO pop off this bat!!! Pros:  My son is only 7, so we needed the lightest bat we could find. This is the lightest weight USA composite this year, believe me we tried them all. All alloy USA bats are at least 2 oz over swing weight, some 2.5. (USA 5150 27/16 weighs 18.6, DEMARINI VOODOO 28/18=20.4). Most all of the USA composite bats are 1.5-2 oz over listed weight. However this bat is only 1.2 oz over listed weight. 28/17 weighed exactly 18.2 oz) compared to pre USA composite bats which had longer breakin period, this bat is more ready to go. I do recommend changing to a lizard skin on all 1 piece bats for kids 8u. *****Heard of a guy who had this bat rolled and Shaven, after shave bat weighed exactly 17 oz, and was HOT AS FIRE. If you are looking for that sort of action, this bat is HOT!

Cons:  Balanced bat with minimal end weight results in heavier rattle when hit off end of the bat.

Cons:  - Swings slow => While lab tests may show the weight is near what is marked on the bat, something about it makes it feel heavy. - I can't prove it with science, but my eyes tell me that after 2000 hits (cage, games, practice, etc.) the composite is now absorbing energy at collision between the bat and ball further reducing the bats performance below USABat standards. Like its now actually deadening the ball. I swear rolled up cardboard would compare equally to this bat. Nearly the entire team has given up on the Ghost X and Hyperlite and switched to the Lousiville Slugger Solo 618. A bat half the price, but just flat out performs the Ghost in every way. I think to be first, Easton rushed the Ghost line to market and just beefed up the barrel to take away the trampoline effect, without fully considering the impact on "swing weight" (i.e., how it actually feels to swing) or how it will perform over time. Over hyped trash. Save your money.

Pros:  It looks nice.

Cons:  I have two boys. I have purchased at least 10 Easton bats over the past 7 years - all of them the top of the line. This bat without question has the least pop and the most vibration of any we have ever purchased. My 12 year old has the 31/21 and unless you hit it absolutely perfect the ball just dies. Other team members who have hit bombs in the past are getting the same result with this bat.

Pros:  My son likes the color

Cons:  No pop at all. My son complains of stinging every time we're in the cage. Batting gloves and putting on a lizard skin grip had little effect. The 750C is a far superior for half the cost. I put the ghost x on eBay for $100 with no takers. I hope the word is getting around. Easton please recall the 30"-19oz also!

Pros:  Well balanced and probably durable

Cons:  When compared to other USSSA baseball bats this bat under performs. During ball contact the bat sounds like you hit it against an aluminum pole. There is no bounce, again this is understanding that most of the new standard bats also the same way and comparing apples to apples. After investing in this bat, my son moved to a wood bat as it performed better.

Pros:  Light balanced swing weight, my 8 year old is swinging faster through the zone, hitting the ball well. Sweat spot seems to be rather large giving the bat good pop. Pros:  Bat handles well and seems to be very durable. Most of his fall little league team has been using this bat due to availability of usa stamped bats. Most of them seem to be very comfortable with it. Seems to be very balanced. He has gotten some pretty good shots with it in game play.

Cons:  Cons is the pop. After using 2 3/4" barrel bats standardized for select ball play for the past 4 years. Going to this usa stamped bat has been quite a significant change. Ball definately does not jump off the bat like the ones he has used for select ball. Still a great bat, will just have to adjust to the change.

Pros:  Great light swinging bat for youth players. The pop is decent for the price and I don't think paying an extra $100 for a bat is warranted. Get this bat!!!

Cons:  The sting on a not squarely hit ball hurts, but that is with any USA bat.. Even my friends Ghost X which was $350..

Pros:  This -11 swings nice and light and relative to the competition still seems to have a good bit of pop. Weight is a big issue for everyone this year and going with anything heavier than a -10 will likely be a mistake. This is the best performing -11 we have played with so far.

Pros:  Affordable, looks good, balanced. Thanks to USA baseball for levelling the playing field with the usa bats. It was needed. Dont take my high ratings too literally cuz its all relative with these usa bats - its now personal preference for the “wood” you choose. I fondly bid farewell to the days of the calculating dads using an outlaw easton or combat b2 da bomb to create an illusion/distortion of the game with young players (unlike mlb’s new baseball which doesnt put kids at risk). Gone are the days of the 50 pounder generating crazy back spin to loft a ball far in the air with his orange mako and/or softball swing. Now... with usa bats it will be more if not completely obvious to everyone if a bat has been tinkered with, and levels the playing field for the safety and betterment of the players. Maybe the spoiled usa kids that play baseball should use what kids iin other countries use. Having said all that, this bat seems good.

Cons:  none so far.

Pros:  Very balanced. Nice barrel/sweet spot. not too big/small. Ball jumps off the barrel on solid contact. The line drive contact hitter is finally rewarded. No longer is the high pop up a HR...

Pros:  Good grip with wide bottom handle making it easier to choke up if needed. If you don't like a wider bottom handle, then this may not be one for you. It widens out towards the very bottom. May want to go with a Rawlings that has a skinny grip all the way down. Good pop when hit on the sweet spot. There will be learning curve with kids who are used to just hitting anywhere on bat. This bat also great weight distribution making it feel lighter than it really is. Barrel seems a bit wider throughout the barrel too.

Cons:  If you don't hit the sweet spot, will sting. The wider bottom handle may not be good for kids will small hands. Not a true drop -11, but that is consistent with all new USA bats. I just wish they would all just give them a true Length/Weight rating.

Pros:  I have purchased no less than 4 USA bats for my 8 year old son. But this is the bat he that went to try outs. We got a lucky break when Little League and a local retailer made nearly every new USA bat available to test drive. After being sized Each kid got to go into tunnel and hit 10 balls with several new bats. Seems the brand we had gone with before was nothing close to the Solo. It just swings faster and hits further. The balance just seems to work, This was the best hitting youth bat of the whole bunch. There is a composite big barrel by a big named brand,-11. We both thought it was great when he first got it. He needed thicker batting gloves and we changed the grip to lizard skin to ease the hand sting. We thought after a 1000 balls it would break in, like his last composite bat ,it never did. This bat out hit the big barrel composite and everything else we have seen and it served him well in try outs. He hit hard everything they threw at him, it's the best for 2018.

Cons:  It's still a 2018 bat, what are you gonna do?

Pros:  Feel, comfort, ball comes off the bat real nice. Was looking for -11 for my 10 yr old. Contact, gap speed type hitter about 70lbs. He tried out Ghost x hyperlite and LS Solo 618 over about 5 hitting sessions(including break in period prior for Ghost x hyperlite composite). Loves the solo. Don't be misguided by fact ghost hyperlite has a bigger barrel and slightly lighter. He squares up more baseballs with the LS 618 and the mishits spin far better than the ghost hyperlite off the bat. The ghost x hyperlite so far- unless struck in (small sweet spot on a huge barrel) the ball knuckles, floats, and dies. It's like the oversized barrel absorbs the energy. They would be much easier for fielders to make outs. Meaning more hits with the LS 618 ( because ball spins and darts). It is a great bat (as far as USA) if your son likes a light swinging, balanced, fast bat with a bit of pop. He loves it. Hope this helps

Cons:  Not many but if you are really picky like me- A bit of sting which is the reason for the 4 in vibration. However, the ghost x hyperlite stings his hands so bad it drops him to his knees every 3 or 4 mihits he has to take a break. He says the sting from the LS 618 is a "normal sting", and he is able to shake his hands out, get back in box and continue. Keep in mind my son primarily plays catcher at this point, so has a bit of toughness, and same results other hitters. The 4 for durability is because the bat has developed a barely noticeable "tiny rattle", I believe in the end cap. it has not affected performance, and i'm sure LS will replace. But my son loves the bat so much with all his (hit marks) he doesn't want me to send it back. It weighs about 1.3 ounces heavier than advertised (almost all bats USA 2018 are heavier) so it is actually a -9.5/10, but swings very light, fast and easy. Also, I'm not knocking easton. They are replacing our Ghost x hyperlite with easton

Pros:  My 8yr old son plays Travel ball and AAU for a local club. We have Owned the Ghost X 2 piece, Ghost HL, Beast HL and been to a few Demos for the Demarini, Mizuno and Rawlings. A lot of dads on the team have been waiting to see this bat in action and it doesn't disappoint. The ball screams off the bat and the mishit ground balls are so spinny that it was eating up our infielders. First few hits in the cages during BP all the heads turned due to the unmistakable sound of the Solo. My son moved up from a 28/16 Mako beast to a 29/18 Solo and has way more pull power with the Solo. My son is hitting the Solo harder and ball velocity is up over his Mako. Most of us baseball dads have been fumbling around checking reviews and buying the normal Eastons and have been bashing the USA bats due to performance. The Solo 618 or the Demarini VooDoo one piece bat are the hot bats that we have seen so far at our baseball school. Ordering the -10 Big Barrel for AAU play!

Cons:  Hard to find in stock.

Pros:  My son tried several bats including: Easton Hyperlite, Demarini Voodoo Balanced & 1 piece, Easton Hyperlite, Beast X, Ghost X, and Ghost-X Hybrid, and LS Omaha before figuring out the 618 Solo was the one. He's small for a 9 year old...only 50 pounds. Previously, he had a Combat Maxum -12 so he's accustomed to a light swinging, balanced stick. He gets decent pop but I'm most happy that he's been able to adjust to a 1 inch length and 2 oz. weight uptick with no problem. I attribute this to the bat's balance point. Great bat...cool grip too and he likes the tapered handle. Also, to top it off, the price is right on this compared to the others I listed.

Cons:  Barrel isn't as big as the Easton and Rawlings line.

Pros:  very balanced feel, swings well, good median price point / I bought this for my son due to the new USA baseball guidelines. He has probably about 100 plus swings in it already and he seems to be adjusting to the feel. He swings a combat Maxum 30/19 with the 2 3/4" barrel and this bat hasn't seemed to affect his swing at all. The sound is very dead unless you strike a ball perfectly but he seems to have the same power in the cage so far. I will revise this after the season to see how it works against live pitching.

Cons:  lots of vibration with the 1 piece design when a ball is hit anywhere besides the sweet spot, handle is pretty thick compared to his combat which has a larger diameter barrel

Pros:  So my son had the Rawlings Prodigy -11 2 5/8 USABaseball bat in fall. It was good. He hit mostly solid line drives into the outfield. Saw a kid I had previously coached at a lesson with the Solo. He was crushing the baseball pitch after pitch. Okay, it's a lesson right. At spring tryouts, he was launching the ball again. This bat has POP for a USA bat. So I bought one for my son and those line drives are now deep in the outfield. The bat is balanced and feels lighter. It does not clank the the Rawlings did. it's a solid and sounds that way. The only thing left is the games. This bat is the real deal.

Cons:  The other boys want to use it.

Pros:  -I have a younger boy just starting out and this Solo 618 lets him get the bat through the zone. It has a very light swing. The new so called -10 & -9 bats are just too heavy. Not to mention they are really closer to -9 & -8 when you put them on the scale. -It still has the new bigger barrel and just as much pop as any other USA bat for a much better price. -The Lizardskin grip is a great perk.

Cons:  -USA standard is weak. -There is still quite a bit of vibration, but expected because it's still just a one piece barrel. A two piece bat will help reduce some of the shock, but you're paying quite a bit more for that. -The hitting area / sweet spot is small.

Pros:  Very balanced bat, fast through the zone , better pop than I thought. The lizard skin is nice and taper at end of bat. We are indoors at winter training so all hitting is done in cages or stations. I coach and see all the bats cycling through, ball appears to come off the bat hotter on the Solo. Looking forward to going outside to see how it performs but I do not anticipate things to change. There is always the 'one" bat and I think this may be it for now.

Pros:  My son hit two deep Fly balls with this bat. 1 for a double and was a fly out. but in the game they were the two deepest hit balls between either team. I like to think his hard work in the tee and taking endless BP has made his approach consistent and powerful bit I truly believed based on the reviews that he was going to struggle to hit the put of the infield. Even with the new bat he is hitting the ball further than just this past fall with a USSSA bat. I highly recommend this bat. it is as close to or better than the pperformance of a USSSA bat. I should say that by the time he used it in live game he probably had over a 1000 swings on it and rotated it between every swing. It was well broken in by the time he used it in league. I think that is the most common mistake parents make. They do not take the time to properly break in a bat before using it in a game situation. There is a right and a wrong way to do it.

Cons:  Its the sweet spot or nothing so barrel control and the ability to square the ball is a must. A miss hit is a weak grouundball and an automatic out.

It almost looks like an unfair advantage over the Teams we play with the other big brand bats. Our middle infielders are just feasting on their weak ground balls coming off the other USA bats. My sons 29/18 weighs 19.2oz and took a few weeks to adjust coming from a 28/16 Mako but is now hitting with some pull power and the Solo just sends it every time with coach pitch. 7 out of 10 hits with the Solo are equal to his MOAB but the MOAB still has 3 balls that are 35-40' longer. Solo is the best that I have seen so far and is very balanced and great acoustics. You can tell how well they hit the pitch just off the sound.

Cons:  The 28" Solo's look a lot different then the 29" Solos. The 28"s have a similar profile to the 518 Omaha's and seem to ring your hands a bit. The 29" sweet spot is a lot bigger then the 28's. The 28" Solo's sweetspot is right on the 6 of the 618 and anything higher up will ring hands. The 29" sweet spot covers the whole word SOLO. Seems 3 times bigger for the extra inch. The acoustics are clearly different from a sweetspot hit vs an off center hit. Last 2" of the 29" will produce a weak ground ball and some hand sting. Had to move my son closer to the plate as an adjustment. Our Solo's get a lot window shoppers sitting on the fence due to the lack of availability in any retailers anywhere. 2 of our 3 removed the foam padding under the grip with just a normal LizardSkin grip. Taper seems ok for a bigger kid but not an 8 yr old.

Pros:  First, remember it's the kid swinging the bat and the work he or she puts into it. The bat itself is super balanced. We tried other bats that are end loaded and were toughter to get around. My son is 9 and playing up a level against quicker pitching, so this bat was necessary. A great alternative is LS Omaha 518. Same bat balance, just different metal compostion.

Cons:  non yet.

Pros:  We tried many of the new USA bats for my 7 & 8 year old boys. This was the best combo of balance, feel, pop, and TRUE weight. Our 28/17 weighs 17.6oz. All others were close to 3oz above published weight.

Cons:  It's a USA bat.

Cons:  My son has used this bat for three months now. For a 28” 17oz bat the Vibratons are not nice for young kids. My son plays 7/8 year old. Baseballes around 30 to 40 mph. On averge temp around 55 to 80

Pros:  Pretty close to stated drop, my son has the 28/17 and it weighed in at 17.8 which is good for USA standards. Looks good and grip is nice. Seems to provide a good swing speed.

Cons:  sweet spot seems small only top 2 inches are the max diameter. Seems to produce a lit of ground balls for kids. Personally i think it seems to need a breaknin period despite manufacturer. not sure there are any better options under $200.

Pros:  After many tries, I was finally able to get my hands on a 29"/18oz Solo 618 for my 9yo son. After a couple years of swinging a 14oz. 2 1/4" barrel bat in his house league, I was a bit concerned an 18oz. bat would feel heavy, but the weight distribution on this bat feels excellent. It is really well balanced, and does not feel barrel heavy...as most of the USABat Easton's we tried, making them feel heavier than 18-19oz. I could tell right away after the first few test swings he took, the 29"/18oz. was the perfect size, and he was happy with how the bat felt. Taking his first live swings, the pop was surprising for a USABat, and my son was incredibly happy with it. If you can find it, I'd highly recommend this bat.

Cons:  None yet. My son is very happy with the pop, feel, and lack of vibration so far.

Pros:  - Solid POP for a USA bat. My son was swinging the Easton Hyperlite before this. Every hit on the Easton stung his hands to the point that he was swinging and missing on purpose. Obviously I had to get him something else. Compared to the Hyperlite the ball jumps of the bat. My son does not complain of any sting/vibration. Says its very balanced and light.

Cons:  Cant find the bat in stock anywhere.

Pros:  Ideal swing weight. Ball travels farther that other usa bats. Nice looks. Only 1 ounce heavier than advertised so a 29/18 is a 29/19 and exactly what we were looking for.

Cons:  Sting on mis hits A teammate's solo bat had end cap come loose. Had to send in for replacement.

Pros:  Seems to be one of the better USA bats available at a "decent" price. Sone, started with a Easton Hyperlight. Broke that within a week. Save your money and buy this. No reason to spend any more. Decent "pop" for a USA Bat, Pre-Gripped with Lizard Skin

Cons:  USA bat - (enough said) Has some hand sting if not hit right. Suck it up, there is no crying in baseball.

Pros:  My son , who is 14 loves the bat. Last season his batting was not so good. If he did hit the ball, it went straight to first and he went straight to dug out!!!!! This year , with his new bat, he is hitting so much better. They are even going outfield instead of to first where he always got out. The kids on his team are asking to use the bat!!!

Cons:  I have to try to convince my son to use this bat. He is constantly saying it stings his hands and he is always switching to someone else's bat or using an old bat. I read that in other reviews, but he is almost to the point that he won't use the bat because it hurts his hands.

Pros:  This bat is popular because it’s well-balanced, light, and moderately priced. At the younger ages 6-9, it should be all about making contact at the plate and learning “how” and not necessarily “how far” to hit. The 618 is made to support this view. I think depending on the player, power may be a focus from as early as age 9. My son’s (age 7.5) first bat was a -12. This one is a -11. So around age 10, I predict a slighlty end-loaded bat will be best for him at-10. I hope LS makes a slightly end-loaded aluminum bat without the extra $100 price tag by then or I will strongly consider other options.

Cons:  The pop issue is universal with the new standards. I’ve seen research out there that many composite bats underperform compared to the 618.

Pros:  My 9 year old son has been playing with the Easton Ghost X (29) and lack of power moved me to look into other options. To note, several kids on the team have been using Ghost bat with similar results. With positive reviews, we purchased the Solo and with hopes of deeper hits but so far, we are seeing similar results from both him and teammates that have wanted to try out the Solo. Around the league we are seeing kids consistently hit the same regardless if they are using Composite or Aluminum. Bottom line, I am confident to say that younger hitters with the new USA bat standards are hitting relatively the same whether they are using a $50 bat or a $350 bat. For the money, the Solo is a great bat and definitely one to consider if you are looking for a mid priced/good performing bat.

Cons:  USA bat regulations are having a strong effect on the game. I suspect that bat manufacturers will figure out how to sweeten the bats in 2019 once the manufacturers have a little more time to study the bats and responses to hits. Just as a reference to power with these new regulations, in the 2017 season, our league had 19+ kids hit at least one ball out of the park-for 2018 a total of 5 have done it.

Pros:  Like many others have said, this bat is good. Everything except the vibration kills it. The technology at the end of the bat has proven to work, my son throws this bat through the strike zone so fast, because of this technology. But everything else for this bat is perfect.

Cons:  My son states that every time he uses the bat it vibrates. He is a pretty good hitter, and we've tried everything. He squeezes the bat tight, and he definitely hits the ball in the middle of the barrel. I am actually quite disappointed, because I've seen all of these good ratings for the vibration. For example, one time my son hits a blast to RF. He told me down at first base that his hands were stinging so bad, that he couldn't pitch. This is one of the many accounts were this bat has proven not to be good when it comes to vibration.

Pros:  Good price for a high performing bat. We have this and the ghost. The ghost is no longer used. The balance is better and thus my sons swing is better. I measures the exit velocity between this and his ghost. The solo had higher average exit velocity and conistently 5 mph higher on his best hits. A better bat for 1/2 the price.

Cons:  The vibration on this bat can be pretty bad if you don’t hit the ball correctly. Vibration is a little worse than the ghost.

Pros:  It has good pop for a USA bat, but nothing like the bats from last year. My son has several USA bats from an Easton Ghost to a Voodoo one piece, but this one is by far his favorite. It has a much better sound than the "dead" sounds from other brands.

Cons:  I could not accurately rate the durability of this bat because this is only the first month we have had it. Also, I wish the Solo 618 was available sooner, but we are adjusting to the bat as we play games/practices.

Pros:  For the 6 days my son used it, it seemed to have great POP to it. My son LOVED the feel of the bat and the balance when he swang the bat.

Cons:  6 days after receiving (maybe the 4th practice, less than 100 hits) the bat gave a horrible corky, spring type noise on one area of the barrel. Tapping around the barrel of the bat gives some unorthdox noise that was not indicative of a properly functioning bat and it did not make this noise when new. Bat went bad somehow. My son is by no means a "slugger", but he makes contact very often and has good and bad hits.

I am undecided on which size is best for my twin 8 year olds. They are both 4 feet even and 52 lbs. Should I go with the 27" or the 28"? I am concerned the 28" may be a little to big as they have been used to swinging bats with the 2 1/4 barrel. The 2 5/8 barrel would be new to them.

Based on your players' sizes, I would recommend that they each swing the 27" option of the 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL.

I have twins that just turned 8. They each weigh about 52LBS. I had bought an Easton S450 27" with 2 1/4" barrel. However, there is absolutely no pop with that bat and it has a lot of vibration. I have noticed that the 2 5/8" barrel bats seem to have more pop. Would you recommend this bat in 27" length for my twins?

The 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL is a one piece composite bat. Composite bats do require a break in process before you see its true performance. This process can take about 150-200 swings off a tee rotating the bat every 10 swings. Alloy bats on the other hand, do come out of the box game ready which helps explain the difference you are seeing. A 27" bat would be a good choice for 7-8 year old players.

What impact does the cold weather have on sting from these bats? My son is swinging a 28" version and we went out in about 50 degrees and he has refused to swing the bat since because of how much it hurt. He seems to suffer most when hitting at the end of the barrel. It seems that this bat is not designed well for the price since my son has always hit well without sting in the past. Any thoughts? Should we wait out the cool weather?

We've heard that the 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL does vibrate quite a bit due to the one piece construction. The cold weather and hitting off the end are also things that would amplify those vibrations. We've actually heard that after quite a bit of use, the composite fibers loosen up and the vibrations dampens over time.

What is the difference in this bat compared to the Easton Ghost-10 model ybb18gx10?

Would changing the grip to lizard skin help that much with the sting/vibration?

My son is 11 (league age 12) and entering his last year of Little League. I just bought the Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11, but now I'm hearing that there's quite a bit of vibration. He's had the Easton 2 piece bats in the past and liked them well enough, but I didn't find any at Dick's Sporting Goods. Should I be looking to spend more and get a two piece?

If you're concerned with vibration, the only way to alleviate that would be with a two piece bat, such as the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 or the slightly end loaded 2018 Easton Beast X Hybrid -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18BXH10.

I would recommend moving up to a 28" or 29" bat. A popular and more affordable option is the 2018 Easton Beast X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18BX10. This is a one-piece, all alloy bat that features an X-Tended barrel design with Z-CORE technology for a massive sweet spot.

Based on your son's height and weight, I think he would be comfortable with either a 29" or a 30" bat. I would recommend purchasing this 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat (YBB18GXHL) in the 30"/19 oz size so that he has room to grow. Is this the style bat that the Cal Ripken rules have went to? Are all the new style bats 2 5/8?

Cal Ripken requires the use of a USA model like the 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL. As for USA bats, the vast majority will feature 2 5/8" barrel diameters. There are some models that will have the 2 1/4" barrel still in the USA standard.

The main difference between the 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL and the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 is that the Hyperlite is a one-piece composite bat while the Ghost X is a two-piece composite bat. Why do you have to warm up with the Easton Ghost X before you use it in a game?

Composite bats require a break-in period before game use in order to loosen up the carbon fiber materials that make up the bat. Taking a bat straight to the game has a very high risk of causing durability issues since the carbon fibers have not been loosened up at all, making the chance of cracking/breaking much higher.

How does this bat compare to the 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 -11?

The main difference between the two is that the Easton Ghost X Hyperlite is a composite design while the Louisville Slugger Solo 618 is an aluminum design. This means the Easton model requires a break-in period before game use while the Louisville will not. Performance wise both bats should be fairly similar due to the strict nature of the USA bat regulations.

My son plays USSSA but this only has a USA stamp. He also plays Cal Ripken. Will this bat be allowed in USSSA and Cal Ripken? Also, he's 56 to 57" and weighs just over 70 pounds. Is the the 30", -11 the right size for him (also looking at the Ghost X Hyperlite -12 (30", -12)? If he went with the Ghost X Hyperlite -12, how would the two bats compare? Any advice would be appreciated.

The 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL could be used in both USSSA and USA leagues such as Cal Ripken. USSSA will allow USA bats in their games but Cal Ripken will only allow USA stamped bats. Based on your player's height and weight, we would recommend a 29 inch bat. Comparing this bat to the 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GXHL12 one will see a few noticeable differences. Those would be weight (one ounce difference between the two), certification (the Ghost X Hyperlite -12 features USSSA certification and thus illegal for use in Cal Ripken) and barrel diameter (USA bats are maxed out at 2 5/8"). As well, due to the thinner barrel wall design of USSSA models one will get better performance from the 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GXHL12.

Based on his height and weight, we suggest a 31" bat. However, if you feel like that is a big jump, moving to a 30" would be perfectly acceptable as well. This is a suggestion based on his height and weight but the player should swing what he is most comfortable with.

I usually use a drop 10 bat and this bat is a drop 11. Could that have any affect on my swing or how far the ball will go?

If you are using a -10 bat and performing well, then going with a lighter -11 bat like this 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat (YBB18GXHL) in the same length may decrease the distance in which you hit the ball. The -11 size of bat will have less mass to it and when you connect with the ball, you will be putting less force into the ball. The lower force being put into the ball will result in less distance on the ball.

What is the real advantage in buying a $280 bat over many other cheaper options of same size and weight? It seems even the cheapest bats are described as "balanced", "good pop", "low vibration", "durable". These seem like just buzz words for sales pitches, and don't have any real meaning or scale.

A more expensive bat like the 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL is due to the fact it is a composite bat. The "cheaper" options will always be the one-piece alloy bats as these are the easier bats to make that require less raw materials to construct. The advantage that the 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL offers over the cheaper alloy models is the balanced feel and swing weight; this composite bat will offer a more true listed weight at roughly 0.5 ounces heavier. Two-piece bats will offer better vibration reduction from off-centered hits due to the flex they offered on impact. At this time we have not seen anything that suggests there is a higher performing USA bat on the market and we would anticipate better durability across all makes and models due to the thicker barrel wall design.

My son will be 11 in spring. He is 4’11” and 110 lbs. I saw something that said the Hyperlite was better if the player is a ‘contact hitter’ and the Beast X is better if the player is a ‘power hitter’. He usually hits a few homeruns during the season. How do I know if he is a contact or power hitter?

I would comment that if he typically hits a few homers each year, he is probably a power hitter and would be ready to use a bat with a -10 length-to-weight ratio over a bat like this 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat (YBB18GXHL) with a -11 length-to-weight ratio. Based on his height and weight, I think you could consider a 30" length bat. My recommendation would be to consider the 2018 Easton Beast X -10 USA Baseball Bat (YBB18BX10) in the 30"/20 oz size.

I am looking to get a new 2018 compliant bat for my 10 yo. He's 4'11 90lbs. We looked at the 31/20 ghost x -11 for him. I thought the ghost x hyperlight seemed more balanced than the -10 2 piece version. Do you think there is a huge competitive difference between those two aside from vibration?

I always recommend that if your player is able to handle the weight, that they go ahead and swing the lowest drop weight possible (a heavier bat if the length remains consistent.) So aside from that the two-piece bat will certainly limit the vibrations felt on poorly struck balls. Overall the 31"/20oz. 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL would be a quality bat for your son to use.

Other than the extra drop oz, how does this bat really compare to the regular Ghost version? Is there any disadvantage to the one piece rather than the two piece Ghost? Does one provide more power over the other?

The main difference between the 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL and the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10, besides the 1 ounce difference, is the one-piece versus two-piece design. As long as you think your player will enjoy the one-piece, all-composite build and can handle the 18 oz weight; I believe that this bat would suit him extremely well in the size suggested.

My son is going to be 11 in Jan. 2018. He is approximately 5' and 100 lbs. Would a 30-19 be the correct size?

Based on your player's height and weight, I would a 30" 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL would be the correct size, as long as the weight is right for your player. For that, you or a coach would be better to answer as far as which weight to go with.

My son has been using a 30" drop 12 bat with a 1" choke up spacer for the last two seasons, he is 5' tall and 98 lbs. Do you think the new bats at a 30" & 20 oz weight will be too heavy for him? He just turned 10 yrs. old.

Someone of his height and weight typically use a 30" bat. The added weight may cause him to have a slower swing in the beginning. But a 10 year old usually swings a drop 10. Its natural to have a slower swing when adjusting to a new weight. Your player should be fine after a couple visits to the cage as he will get more comfortable with the weight.

Isn't one of the benefits of a composite bat to generate more pop and cause a "trampoline effect" once broken in? With the new USA Baseball specifications, has this effect been engineered out of composite bats making them more like alloy and/or wood bats?

Yes, composite bats once broken in will create some what of a trampoline effect. The USA Baseball stamp will make it perform closer to how a BBCOR bat would perform. Typically this is compared to the performance of wood bats.

My son is 9 and plays Dixie Youth and travel ball. He is currently swinging the 2016 green and black Mako 27/17 2 3/4. He swings it well. I was looking at getting the 2018 Hyperlite. Probably the 28/17. Would you recommend this bat? If so which size? I noticed that the Ghost X starts at 29/19 and I was thinking that would be a pretty big jump. Good feedback would be help.

I would recommend staying with a -10 if your player is currently swinging one now with the option of moving up in weight. I would also recommend a 28 or 29 inch bat for your player.

(1) What is the difference between this bat and the -11 Velo? (2) Which bat has the most balance swing weight?

(1) This 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat (YBB18GXHL) will differ from the 2018 Rawlings VELO -11 USA Baseball Bat (US8V11) as the HYperlite is made of composite material and the VELO is made mostly of alloy material [with the exception of a composite end-cap]. (2) The VELO (US8V1) will probably be the more balanced feeling bat. Typically, when you top off an alloy bat with a composite end-cap, it makes the bat feel very light and balanced.

I want my son to have a balanced bat that can be swung with speed (and the advantage of a big barrel). He is using the Easton S3 (28"/15 oz). Should I get this bat or the Rawlings Quatro?

This 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat (YBB18GXHL) will come with a balanced feel and can be swung very quickly by a player. Overall, if your player is playing coach or kid pitch, I would recommend this Ghost X Hyperlite (-11) over the 2018 Rawlings Quatro -11 USA Tee Ball Bat (TB8Q11) as the Ghost X Hyperlite is meant to hit thrown balls. The Rawlings Quatro -11 is only meant to hit stationary balls off a tee.

It is suggested that he uses a 26" bat. However, if your player feels comfortable going to a 27", that would be perfectly fine. The weight is correct at the drop 12. The 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat (YBB18GXHL) is a great bat due to it being very well balanced.

My son is 6 years old, 46" tall and plays coach pitch. Is the 27"/16 oz size good for him or are they going to come out with smaller bats that don't say tee ball?

To get a USA Baseball bat that is not a teeball model, you will have to go with the 27" length (everything that has a 26" length and USA Baseball stamp will be a teeball bat). Because of that, I would recommend looking for a bat in the 27"/16 oz size for a smaller 6 year old that is playing coach pitch.

Is there much of a difference, performance wise, between the 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite USA Baseball Bat and the Easton Beast X USA Baseball Bat? Also, which one of these bats has a more balanced feel?

The performance depends on what kind of player you are. The Beast X is end loaded and is designed for power hitters. The 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat (YBB18GXHL) is balanced. Due to this, the Beast X will perform better if you are a power hitter where the YBB18GXHL will perform better if you're a contact hitter.

What's the benefit of two-piece verses one-piece bats?

One-piece bats, such as the 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL, are stiffer in comparison to a two-piece bat and will offer less flex during a player’s swing which allows for more power transferred from the player. Two-piece bats will offer more flex during a player’s swing. This causes a whip-like action through the swing zone and results in more inertia and power. These bats tend to be geared more towards a contact hitter or a hitter that could use assistance in improving bat speed. Because the handle is separate from the barrel, two-piece bats tend to help mitigate felt vibration on mishit balls.

We would recommend a 31" length of bat for his height and weight. We can't really recommend a weight for the bat however because there are too many factors at play that we don't know. Things such as swing efficiency, strength, whether they choke up or not, and other factors all play into that. If he is comfortable with a -10, then you could stick with that drop.

Which is the better bat, the Ghost X or Ghost X Hyperlite and why?

The bats differ in few areas. For instance, the 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat (YBB18GXHL) is a drop 11, one piece composite. The Ghost X is a drop 10, and two piece composite. The two piece allows the bat to flex more and reduces the sting from vibrations. Very similar bats but if you are looking for a lighter bat, the -11, the Ghost X Hyperlite would be a great bat.

The 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL is a one-piece composite bat and will benefit from a small break in before using. Hi, my son is 11, weighs 80 lbs & is about 4’9". We are deciding between the Omaha -10 & the Solo 618 -11. I’ve read the previous responses & it seems the Solo has been recommended more for younger players 10 & under because the Solo will be too light of a bat to make the transition up to -3. I know based on his height/weight a 30" is probably what he should swing but if he likes the feel of the Solo in a 31" vs the Omaha in a 30", would that be suitable since they’d actually weigh the same?

That would work fine, yes. In the end personal preference and comfort with a bat will always mean more than what the charts tell you, so if he likes the 31" Louisville Slugger Solo -11 and it works for his swing then you can certainly go with that model and size.

I would recommend taking a look at the 2018 Louisville Slugger Select 718 -10 USA (WTLUBS718B10). It has a slight end-loaded swing weight designed to appeal to power hitters.

I hear USA bats weigh heavy. Can you give me the actual weight for a 28"/17 oz before I buy?

Almost all bats (USA or not) will weight about .5-1.5 oz heavier than the listed weight as manufacturers do not include things like the adhesive glue for the endcap and grip tape into the final weight. This variance also varies from model to model. We did weigh a 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 -11 ourselves, and it was a 32"/21oz that weighed in at 22 oz, so +1 oz.

My son is 13 yrs old and is 5'9" and 129 lbs. What bat length should I buy? He also likes a lighter bat for bat speed. Is this the best bat for bat speed?

Based on your son's height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 -11 USA Baseball Bat: WTLUBS618B11 in a 32 inch model. Unfortunately this bat would not be a good option for a 13 year old player; this bat is better served for a player 11 and under. A better option would be the 2018 Louisville Slugger Select 718 -5 USA Baseball Bat: WTLUBS718B5.

Both the 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 -11 USA Baseball Bat: WTLUBS618B11 and the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUO2 feature similar one piece aluminum designs. I'm a torn between the Louisville Slugger Solo 618, the Easton Beast X Hyperlite and the Louisville Slugger Omaha 518. What would you recommend? He's 4 foot 2 inches tall and weighs about 50 to 55 pounds give or take, and is a contact hitter.

All of these bats should perform relatively similar, and all will be one-piece alloy designs. The Solo 618 has been a great seller so far for USA bats, but because of that they are hard to find right now as Louisville Slugger is having trouble keeping up with the demand. The Easton Beast X Hyperlite and the Louisville Slugger Omaha 518 should also perform very well. I don't think you could go wrong with either choice.

My son is 5', 110 lbs and is 10 years old. Hit with a 31" -10 VELO very well. Will the Solo 618 be similar or will the -11 be too light?

The 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 -11 USA Baseball Bat: WTLUBS618B11 is a very balanced one-piece alloy bat that features a composite end cap. This design is very similar to that of the VELO. With that said, if the player was having success with a -10 model then it does not make sense to decrease the weight and use a -11. A good -10 USA bat to consider is the 2018 Louisville Slugger Omaha 518 -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTLUBO518B10. Another one-piece alloy bat with a balanced swing weight but it does not feature the composite end cap.

My son is 9 years old, 4’7” and about 70 pounds. I’m going back and forth on the 29”/18 oz and the 30”/19 oz. Which one would you recommend?

Based on your son's height and weight, I think he would be able to manage either the 29"/18 oz or the 30"/19 oz 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 -11 USA Baseball Bat (WTLUBS618B11). He would likely be more comfortable with the 29" this season but he could always choke up on the 30" while he grows into the larger size.

Based on your player's height and weight, a 29/18 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 -11 USA Baseball Bat: WTLUBS618B11 would work for your player. However, a 30/19 would be a bit better suited for his size.

At your player's current height and weight, I would suggest a 29" bat. However, if you expect just a couple inches of growth by your player, a 30" 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 -11 USA Baseball Bat: WTLUBS618B11 would be the suggested length.

My son is 12, 4'10" and weighs 75 lbs. Thinking the 31", but is 31" too much?

Based upon your player's height and weight, I would make a general recommendation of getting a 30" length of bat. However, that is not a rule that he has to go with the 30" length. If he feels ready for a 31" length, it is fine to get a bat of that length. However, for a 12 year old player, I would not recommend a bat like this 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 -11 USA Baseball Bat (WTLUBS618B11) with a -11 length-to-weight ratio. At the minimum, I would recommend a -10 sized bat and my suggestion would be to consider a -8 sized bat so your player can prep for using the -3 BBCOR bats when he gets to high school in a couple years.

Is this truly a Drop -11? I’ve heard that the USA bats are heavier than the listed weight. Is that the case with this bat? Thanks!

Typically bats range about 0.5-1.5oz. heavier than their listed weight. This is because of the additions to the bat following the weigh-in process (ie. grip, paint, etc.) The 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 -11 USA Baseball Bat: WTLUBS618B11 is no exception. I would like to buy my 10 year old a LS bat as he has always had LS bats. What is the basic difference between the Omaha 518, the Solo 618, and the new 718, besides the fact that the 718 is a hybrid?

The 2018 Louisville Slugger Omaha 518 -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTLUBO518B10 is a one-piece aluminum bat with ST 7U1+ alloy construction to provide a traditionally stiff feel on contact. The 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 -11 USA Baseball Bat: WTLUBS618B11 will also be one-piece aluminum, but it also utilizes a speed ballistic composite end cap to help balance the swing weight to feel lighter. The USA Solo 618 is also only available in the -11 size. The 2018 Louisville Slugger Select 718 -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTLUBS718B10 is a hybrid bat with the same ST 7U1+ alloy construction as the 518 but it also takes advantage of the TRU3 technology to create a substantially smoother feel on contact than either of the other two options. All in all, any of these three (3) bats will offer your player a high quality performance.

Normally the barrel is the same width where as the solo's barrel gradually gets bigger. The last 2-3 inches of the bat are the same width. Why is that? Does this make it even tougher to hit the sweet spot?

Are the barrels all the same length on the Solo line? If you look at the Easton Ghost line, they all have the same barrel length, so a 29 inch has the same one as the 31 inch (added length is in the handle). On some bats, the length is taken out of the barrel, so a 29 inch has a smaller barrel than a 30 inch and so on. I am trying to find out what the case is with this Solo 618.

The 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 -11 USA Baseball Bat: WTLUBS618B11 will feature a 2 5/8 barrel diameter. The 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS618B3 will also feature a 2 5/8 barrel diameter. Looking for a USA Baseball bat for a coach pitch league (preferably alloy and a drop of -11 or -12). How would you compare the Solo 618 to the Easton Beast X Hyperlite (-12) and Rawlings 5150 (-11)?

This 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 -11 USA Baseball Bat (WTLUBS618B11) will feature an all-alloy build (with a composite end-cap) and a -11 length to weight ratio. New baseball bats for the 2018 season! For the second year running, Louisville Slugger has created a one-piece, all alloy, hybrid bat: the Solo. This season's model, the Solo 618, may be known as a single-piece construction, but due to the new and improved Speed Ballistic Composite End Cap, Louisville Slugger has deemed it a hybrid design. The enhanced end cap, combined with Slugger's SL Hyper aluminum material, delivers increased swing speed, better overall control through the zone, and the most balanced swing weight score (1.1) in the 2018 lineup. As the fastest swinging baseball bat Louisville Slugger has ever manufactured, this model is an excellent choice for players looking to ensure fastballs no longer phase them. Not only does the SL Hyper Alloy provide an increase in swing speed, but it ensures a stiff, traditional feel on contact with maximum energy transfer for further ball flight and more base hits. Not to mention, Louisville Slugger has applied a brand new vibration dampening handle design that helps reduce sting in the hands on mishits so that negative vibration is a thing of the past. The best part? A custom Lizard Skins baseball bat grip comes pre-wrapped around the standard handle for premium comfort and a better overall feel. Louisville Slugger: Hit For Power, Average, & Pride!

This 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 USA Baseball Bat (WTLUBS618B11) features a lightweight drop 11 length to weight ratio, a 2 5/8-inch barrel diameter, and the USA Baseball (USABat) certification. With that stamp, this model is approved for play in AABC, Babe Ruth, Cal Ripken, Dixie Youth, Little League, and Pony baseball.
