Description

DeMarini baseball bats are the top choice for many players across the nation because of their dedication to high-level performance. The DeMarini Voodoo bats are back and better than ever! With a two-piece, hybrid construction, the Voodoo delivers the traditional sound of alloy bats with the lightweight, smooth feel of composite bats. As the most versatile option in DeMarini's lineup, there's a reason it has become one of the all-time most popular baseball bats in the game. It all starts with the X14 Alloy barrel that utilizes enhanced variable wall thickness throughout for a more powerful performance at the plate. The feature and technology that sets this year's model apart from previous designs is the 3Fusion System. This one-of-a-kind design includes the streamlined 3Fusion handle along with the lightweight 3Fusion end cap that optimizes weight for better overall control and faster swing speeds. With a sleek design, the 3Fusion handle provides a serious reduction of vibration in the hands and a noticeable difference in flex on contact that helps transfer negative energy into the barrel for premier pop and incredible ball flight. DeMarini: Choose Innovation. Choose Power. Choose Speed!

This DeMarini Voodoo USA Baseball Bat (WTDXUO2) features a drop 10 length to weight ratio, a 2 5/8-inch barrel diameter, and the new USA Bat stamp. With that new stamp, this model is approved for play in AABC, Babe Ruth, Cal Ripken, Dixie Youth, Little League, and Pony. Scare every pitcher you face and pick up one of these Voodoo baseball bats today with free shipping and a full one (1) year manufacturer's warranty. Might Be The New Specs..... Brian Iten parent

Pros: Good feel, son says it is similar to his previous years Voodo Bats and he has been a loyal DeMarini player for 5 years now. Nice balance.

Cons: These bats are really dumbed down. Barely clearing the 200ft fence with it, yet, put a maple Marucci in his hands, which is legal for little league this year, and the ball is flying 240ft at a much higher rate. At the DeMarini price, I could have purchased 3.5 wood bats compared to this one.

awesome bat Kris parent

Pros: could not tell a difference in the new usa bats to the old bats with this bat. my son is 10 4'8" 85lbs and is swinging a 30" like they never changed the rules. He is a contact hitter and usually uses a wood bat for BP so swinging this bat was nothing for him. great bat!

best USA bat we tried Retro Clemson parent

Pros: Bat is as close to the old bats as any we tried. Very similar to the old -13 Voodoos, just obviously heavier. A shame they didn't make at the least a -12 for the 2 piece USA Youth version. Love the bat, its just slightly heavier than ideal for my 7 year old son. But thats only con, and not really a con i suppose. The ball sounds like the old bats when coming off this bat, cannot tell a difference off the hoof. typical Demarini Voodoo POP! Whereas the other USA bats we tried were obviously less than their predessor. This includes the Ghosts and Slugger 618. I am guessing the USA Composite bats have a longer break in period than the previous composites although that remains a guess at this point. Do not get caught up in the Composite vs Alloy debate with this bat, If you were a Voodoo fan before, this is your bat! Top USA bats of 2018 IMO are Demarini Voodoo and the Slugger 718. But Slugger 718 does not come in a 28"

Cons: bat only comes in a -10, but no cons on the bat itself as far as performance or feel.

Pros: Bat exceeded expectations of a USA bat. has similar pop to previous Voodoo bats. bat feels great, nice Alloy sound. Best USA bat my son tried. Pop was greater than that of the composite Easton Ghost X -10 or -11 and alloy Slugger 618.

Cons: -10, nothing against this bat, just wish Demarini released a -11 or even -12 for USA 2 piece bats. We previously had a 28" -13 Voodoo. -10 is too heavy for most 8u players on machine pitch.

Great Bat and highly recommended BaseballDad parent

Pros: My 10 year old was swinging the USSSA Easton Mako Comp 2-3/4" (-10) Baseball Bat - 27"/17 oz last year and the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat is the best comparison to a composite that I've seen. I compared it to other USA bats, Easton S650, Easton Ghost X, Easton Beast X, Easton S750C, 2018 Louisville Slugger Omaha 518 -10, and the 2018 Rawlings 5150. The Voodoo the best balance, pop, and contact sound than the other USA bats I listed. Most importantly it is roughly a -9 to where the other USA bats I listed are barrel heavy and range between 2 an 4 ounces over the listed weight.

Cons: none

Awesome Bat when it comes to the new Bat Standards Jesse Gaytan parent

Pros: Bought this Bat around 3 weeks back and I got to say that it has a really nice POP for being a USA Bat. The 31 drop 10 Bat purchased did come at nearly 1 lb. 5 oz. heavier but this is something very common with the New USA Bats from what I have previously read. The Bat is well balanced and feels really good when being hold. the Homerun rate did drop by about 60 percent since not as Hot as the Bats from the previous years but on the Bright side, there is NO STINGING on my kiddo's hands what so ever on the bad hits. DeMarini did not disappoint us, the Voodoo comes at really good price and I would definitely would recommend it!

Cons: USA Bats are not at Hot as previous bats, good thing there is always the line drives to the fence though!

Pros: My son swung a few different USA bats and this bat defnitely had the most pop and had a very balanced feel to it. He is able to control the added mass of thr big barrel bat during his swing. No sting due to the two-piece construction, but slight vibration.

Cons: Slight vibration $250 price tag but worth it

Meh... Stacy G parent

Pros: It's hard to come up with any pros, especially since the USA bats seem flat and have less pop. It looks good--does that count? And it might hit better if it was ACTUALLY BALANCED, but it is NOT! A kid that swings an end-weighted bat may get better results.

Cons: NOT balanced! Feels very end weighted. My son went from hitting triples and doubles to barely and rarely getting on base with this bat. He still uses a Marucci Hex Alloy for travel ball and hits fine with it, so I have a hard time finding pros for this bat. We do love Marucci bats, just not this USA version.

Pros: Great pop off from the bat. Very little vibration on mishits and none on the sweet spot. My 8 year old son is 54 inches tall and 73 pounds and swings the 29 drop 10 with no problem. He consistintly hits hard line drives into the outfield and hard ground balls through the infield. I was a Easton fan until now. Demarini does not dissapoint, do not hesitate to buy this bat.

Pros: My 11 YO swings the 32/22 and it swings more like a 24oz. relatively no vibration and the pop is better than any of the other bats (including the Zen, Ghost that we own). May be the best bat on the USA market. We have players on our team with the 30/20 and although it doesnt drive the ball as well, it still has excellent rebound. We love this bat.

Is this an approved bat for the 2018 Little League season?
Ken
Yes, this 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat (WTDXUD2) is permitted in all divisions of Little League Baseball besides the Senior Division.
Ben
What is the actual weight of the 29/19 and is this bat end loaded at all?
DAD
The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2 features a balanced swing weight. As for the actual weight of the bat, this is not something we are able to determine at this time. Please check back in a month.
Cameron
Will USSSA allow this bat since it does not have their stamp?
baseball dad
Yes, USA Bats are going to be legal for play in USSSA. You would have no problems using the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2 in a USSSA tournament.
Carter
Is this bat comparable to the CF8 that my son currently uses?
Tim
The big difference here will be the USA stamp on the new 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2. The level of output will be more similar to that of a wood bat with the new USA stamp.
Dan
Does this bat need to be broken in or is it hot out of the box?
SGR
The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2 features an alloy barrel and thus will be hot out of the box. Only composite barrel bats will need the break-in period.
Cameron
For two years my son has used Voodoo RAW 32-19. I know this bat is legal for 2018 but worried about weight. Looking for DeMarini that is similar. He is 13.
mark
I would recommend the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2. If you're concerned with the weight I would recommend the 2018 Rawlings VELO -10 USA Baseball Bat: US8V10 as it's one of our most balanced bats.
Dan
What is the actual weight of the DeMarini Voodoo Balanced USA bat?
Gus
This bat is a -10 drop. However, almost all bats will probably be about 1 oz heavier than the listed weight, due to things like the glue for the end cap and grip tape not always included in the listed weight.
Kyle J.
Is this bat balanced or end loaded?
bubba
The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2 features a balanced swing weight.
Jason
(1) Would this bat be approved for 13U since it has the USA logo, or do all 13U players need to swing BBCOR bats? My son is smaller [currently using a DXVBR -9]. (2) What bat would you recommend? (3) Also, if he does have to go to BBCOR bats, does the bat need to have the USA logo?
confused
[1] The legality of this 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat (WTDXUD2) will be dependent upon the governing body of your league. You will need to check with a coach or league official on what the bat ruling is for the 13U division of your league. [2] For a 13U player, I would typically recommend a -5 size baseball bat if a BBCOR is not being required ( a -5 bat will best prepare the player for moving up to -3 BBCOR bats when they get to high school). [3] If your player is required to swing BBCOR bats, the USA logo will not be required on the bat (no bats will have a BBCOR stamp and USA stamp present).
Ben
My son uses the CF5 (-11) bat and likes it, but we have to get the new USA stamped bats. How does the 2018 Voodoo -10 compare?
mike
This 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat (WTDXUD2) will be different than the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat (WTDXUD2) as it has a -10 length-to-weight ratio (and the CF5 had a -11 length-to-weight ratio). As well, this 2018 Voodoo will feature a larger 2 5/8" barrel diameter (while the CF5 would have been a 2 1/4" barrel bat). Lastly, the USA stamp on the Voodoo will restrict the performance on the bat too a much lower level than what would have been allowed off the CF5 used in the past.
Ben
I purchased the Demarini VooDoo 28" -10 for my 9 yr old and the 29" -10 for my 10 year old. I am aware that actual weight will be a little more then listed weight but both the 28" and 29" weighed exactly same on a scale, 20.7 oz. The 28" was too heavy for my 9yr old. How can same exact bat different lengths be same weight?
Michael
It is hard for the manufactures to be precise on every bat. Every bat is slightly a different weight depending on multiple variables such as grip tape, paint job, and other factors.
Mick
My son is about 4'5" and weighs about 75 lbs. He had a weak swing last year but has grown and gotten stronger. He will be in the batting cages at least 1/week this off season. I was leaning towards the 29/19 for him but I don't want him to outgrow the bat. Do you think a 30/20 is a better way to go?
Pete
Given your son's size, weight, and expected use-rate, I would suggest the 29/19. If you were planning to use it more sparingly then I could understand buying a bat for him to grow into, but in the scenario of using it in the cages a couple times a week I would just go with the bat that is currently the best fit given the expected lifespan of aluminum bats.
Tyler
Will there be a USA Baseball CF5? Debating on whether to buy a Voodoo or wait. Also, my son is 5' and 90-95lbs. He has been using a 30" -10 bat for over a year. Should I go up to 31" -10? He has one of the fastest if not fastest hands on his team and at times I think he could use a heavier bat.
doug
I would recommend the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2 in a 30" length but if he's confident with the weight, you could go up to a 31" length.
Dan
What size bat would you recommend for a 12 year old that is 5'6" 145 lbs? Last year he was using a 32 in 21 oz would the 32 in 22 oz be a good fit for him?
zach
I would recommend the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2 with a 32 inch bat length and a 22 ounce bat weight for a player with the specs you have described.
Dan
What size would you recommend for a 4'8" 10 year old? Was thinking 29" -10 but not sure.
bb59
I would recommend the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2 in a 29 inch bat length and a -10 drop weight.
Dan
My son is 54" tall and weighs 65 lbs. He recently swung a 29"/16 oz bat and it was light. What size bat for my son?
dadof#10
Based upon your player's height and weight, I think he can stay at the 29" length. However, you might look to swing a heavier bat with n 19 oz weight (as long as he can handle the 19 oz weight). I would recommend considering this 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat (WTDXUD2) in the 29"/19 oz size.
Ben
What is the difference between this bat and the Voodoo One?
j
The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2 is a two-piece hybrid bat, with an alloy barrel and composite handle. The Voodoo One is a one-piece fully alloy bat.
Tori
My son is 9 years old. He's 4'8" and 115 pounds. Would you recommend the 30/20?
Jeremy
Yes, based on your sons height and weight we would recommend the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2 in the 30"/20 ounce size.
Carter
We ordered a 28/18 for our 10 year old who is 4 foot 11 inches and weighs 107 pounds. Is that a proper size or should we return it for another size?
coop
Based on your player's height and weight, I would actually suggest a 30" 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2.
Logan
My son is 13, and is 5'6 102 pounds. Would you recommend the 31/21?
Dad
Given your player's specifications, I would definitely recommend a 31 inch bat. The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2 could certainly fit that billing. However, considering his age I may suggest also looking into some drop 8 bats in order to start preparing him for the standard drop 3 that he'll have to swing in high school.
Tyler
Is this bat approved for play in Dizzy Dean?
DP409
Yes, this 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat (WTDXUD2) has the USA Bat stamp and will be sanctioned for play in Dizzy Dean leagues in 2018.
Ben
My son is 12 and will be 13 in May. He is 5'7" and 120 lbs. Should I get him a 31"/21 oz -or- a 32"/22 oz?
keaton
For a player that is 12 or 13 years old, I would recommend forgoing this 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat (WTDXUD2) as the -10 length-to-weight ratio will be too light for a player of that age. I would recommend looking to a USA rated bat that has a -8 or -5 sizing to it. A -8 or -5 sized bat will help prepare your player for the -3 BBCOR bats that will be required in high school.
Ben
My 9 year old is about 4"7 and 85 pounds, what size do you recommend?
Josh
Based off the information you've provided, I would recommend the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2 in a 29 inch and 19 ounce. This bat is also classified as a balanced bat which will help your player get the bat through the zone.
Dan
My 11 year-old son is 4"8' and weighs 100 lbs. I was thinking about buying him the Voodoo 31' drop 10. Do you think this is too big for him? Also, I heard the Voodoo runs heavy and isn"t really a true drop 10. If this is true, how much heavier are they?
Mike
Based on your player's specifications, either the 30" or 31" 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2, would be a great fit for him. As for the Voodoo, I just weighed the one we have on display and it came in 0.2oz heavier than the listed weight. Typically bats range from 0-1.5oz heavier than their listed weight because of the additions (ie. grip tape, etc) that are added after the weighing process.
Tyler
My son is on the smaller size for his age (11 years old). He's been using a 28"/16 oz. He's about 65 lbs and 4 ft tall. Should he go up to a 29?
binaural
Based upon your player's height and weight, our general recommendation would be to stick at the same 28" length. However, if you wanted to get something longer, you could certainly go with a 29" length bat. If you got this 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat (WTDXUD2) in the 29" length, it would be 19 oz in weight. The 28" size, would be 18 oz in weight. At the time of your question, the 28" and 29" sizes are available for purchase.
Ben
My grandson is a loyal DeMarini user and must obtain the new bat. He is 11 years old, 78 lbs and 58" tall. He has been using a 30" (drop 11). Is a 30" (drop 10) Voodoo the right bat.
Ron
Based upon your player's height and weight, we would make a general recommendation of getting this 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat (WTDXUD2) in the 30" length. That size would be 20 oz in weight. However, if you wanted to be able to have multiple length options of bats, it may be worth considering this bat in the 31"/21 oz size as well. That size would be a little long and heavy at the outset, but would give your player something into which he could grow with time.
Ben
What are the main differences between this Voodoo and the Voodoo WTDXUO2 currently on sale for $149.00?
Henry
The main difference between these bats is that the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat (WTDXUD2) is a two-piece hybrid bat while the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One -10 USA Baseball Bat (WTDXUO2) is a one-piece alloy bat. Two-piece bats typically have less vibration and more flex than one-piece bats, but choosing between the two comes down to player preference.
Taylor
My son is 12 years old, 5"4" tall and 125 lbs. What size do you recommend for him and which DeMarini bat?
momof3
We would recommend a 31" or a 32" length for someone his size. Any of the DeMarini bats that we have including this 2018 DeMarini Voodoo would be great options.
Kyle J.
Is this bat USSSA approved?
mike
The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat (WTDXUD2) is approved for USA leagues but is not approved for USSSA leagues.
Taylor
What length and weight do you recommend for my son who is 4"6' and 70lbs?
Eric
Based on your sons height and weight we would recommend a 29"/19 ounce 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2.
Carter
What size DeMarini Voodoo would you recommend for my 10 year old son? He's 4'9" & 95 pounds.
kevin
We would suggest a 30" length for someone around his size.
Kyle J.
This bat is not on the approved list at (USABAT.COM). Does this mean it can not be used?
Dustin
This 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat (WTDXU) is actually on the list of approved bats by USA Baseball. Because of that, it will be permitted for use in leagues that are requiring the new USA rated bats.
Ben
Are half and half bats intended for or made to help kids with weaker wrist action get the extra whip or snap?
Browner
Two-piece bats in general can typically result in more whip or snap in each swing. The hybrid design in the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2 features an alloy barrel and composite handle for players who like both materials.
Dan
I have been comparing 2-piece composite and hybrid models and am unsure which way to go. Which would be better for an 8 year old that is roughly 50" tall and weighs 70 lbs in the 29"/-10 size? He has a good swing but is not super strong and has a lighter swing (slower hands). It seems that all composites are heavier bats. I'm also looking for something that will have little to no sting. This is for Cal Ripkin pitching machine league.
Jake Young
Inherently, there is not going to be a performance difference between aluminum, hybrid and fully composite bats. Choosing between a hybrid or composite bat will come down to player preference. If you hope to limit sting, I think a two-piece design, like this 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat (WTDXUD2), would be a good fit.
Taylor
My son is 5"2' and 104lbs. I was thinking 30' 20oz. Thoughts?
Keith
A 30" bat could certainly work, but I would actually recommend the 31" 21oz. size of the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2.
Tyler
My son is 11 years old 55 inches and 85 pounds. What size would you recommend?
Todd Kaiser
Given your player's specifications, I would recommend the 29" 19oz. 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2.
Tyler
My son is 10 years old (league age 11), 76 pounds, and 60 inches tall. What size bat would you recommend?
Tina
Would recommend getting the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2 in a 30 inch model based on the player's height and weight.
Cameron
My son is 14 years old, 5'6" and 165 lbs. What is the -10? Coaches said we should get a -3 to -5. What do you recommend?
pete
-10 is what is commonly referred to as the "drop", or the length to weight ratio. If a bat is 33" long, and is a -10, then it weighs 23 oz. 33 (length) -10 (drop) = 23 (weight/oz). For his age and size we would certainly recommend a -3 or a -5 bat. BBCOR bats are what I would probably recommend, just look for that term in the title. BBCOR bats are all -3 and intended for high school and college play.
Kyle J.
My 13 year old plays middle school that is now adopting the USA bat standard. He hit a 30/25 CAT 7 last year, but he can't use that this year. I feel like we are back in rec ball with a 31/21 but is that the appropriate size with this new bat standard?
bert
I would recommend your player to continue swinging a -5 if that is what he's comfortable with. Unfortunately, the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2 is not available in a -5 but I would recommend something similar like the 2018 Easton Beast X -5 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18BX5. The Beast X features a one-piece, alloy construction with the X-Tended barrel design for a massive sweet spot.
Dan
My son is 9 yrs old, 4"10' an 105 lbs. What size would you think I should get?
locho
Based on your son's height and weight, I would recommend getting the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2 in a 30 inch model.
Cameron
Son turns 11 years old in March. He is 4'11". He weighs 110 lbs. He is an above average bat handler. What size would be best for him?
T
Based on your player's height and weight, we would make a general recommendation of getting this 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat (WTDXUD2) in the 30" length as long as the 20 oz weight can be handled effectively.
Ben
I would like to purchase one of these in size 29. What's the closest to advertised weight you have?
Poophead
A 29 inch model of the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2 will weigh roughly 20.6 ounces.
Cameron
Since this bat has a 2-piece construction, should it not to be used in a batting cages, like a full composite?
Greg
We do not recommend that you ever use your primary bat in batting cages. The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2 is no different and its' X14 alloy would be highly susceptible to denting.
Tyler
What is the safe outdoor temperature to use this bat in?
Darren
While there is no temperature specifically listed by the manufacturers, we generally recommend 55 degrees or higher if you can avoid it. Obviously sometimes that is not possible. Be sure to try to store your bat indoors if possible.
Kyle J.
Is there a "break in" period for this bat or is it hot out of the wrapper?
Rock
This bat will not require a break-in period because it has an alloy barrel.
Kyle J.
My son is 9 years old, 76 lbs and about 4'8". He was using an older 2013 DeMarini Dark 29/17 last season. What size bat would you recommend? What is the true weight of this bat?
eddie
Based on your player's specifications, I would recommend the 29" 19oz model of the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2. This bat, like most every other bat, is going to be about 1-1.5oz heavier than the listed weight.
Tyler
My son is about to turn 10 years old in early March. He's 4'7" and 69 lbs. He's a contact hitter who's been using a 29" bat. Would you recommend sticking to a 29" or could we move up to a 30"?
Ed
Based upon your player's height and weight, our general recommendation would be to stick at the 29" length. However, if he feels ready to get something a little longer (or you feel he will be growing), you should be fine to get the longer 30" length of this 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat (WTDXUD2) as long as the 20 oz weight can be handled.
Ben
My son is 4'2" and 58 lbs. What size would you recommend? Can't decide between a 28 or 29.
N.
We would recommend getting the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2 in a 28 inch model based on your player's height and weight.
Cameron
My kid is 5'2" and 95 lbs. What size of bat should I get him?
JOSE
Based on your son's height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2 in a 31 inch model.
Cameron
My son is 5"8' and 135 lbs what size bat should he use?
big D
I would recommend the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2 in a 32 inch length based off the information you've provided.
Dan
My son is 10 and is 4'11" tall and weighs 110 lbs. What size do you recommend? Thanks
je
We would recommend a 30" or 31" length for his size and weight.
Kyle J.
My son is 12 4"7 70 lbs. What size bat should he use?
david
Given your player's specifications, I would recommend your player swings either a 29" or 30" size of the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2.
Tyler
I'm looking at this and the new 2018 CF Zen. My son is smaller, he's 13, is 5 ft tall and weighs probably 79 pounds. We used composite bats every year and this last he used a 29"17 oz -12. We need to move him up for middle school so should we look at -10 or -5 and if so which since we have always used one piece composites with the exception of one alum/com combo. Any advice? I'll be darned we just bought a $300 bat from you guys that he played 4 games with, now we get this USA rule change switching back to rec.
bballmom
Based on your sons height and weight and what he was using previous I would probably recommend trying out the 30"/20 ounce size. Both the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2 which is a hybrid option and the 2018 DeMarini CF Zen -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUFX which he had been using previously are both great options to take a look at.
Carter
My son is 11, 4'10", and 95 lbs and has been playing with a DeMarini 29 inch 18 oz CF7. Great bat, but him growing 2 inches and now with new bat rules for LL, we need to find a new bat. He assessed using an Easton Beast X -12 30" 18 oz (from a friend) did great with it. Just wondering if we should look at more bats? Most 30" are 20 oz. I was hoping to buy DeMarini again, but only see 30" 20 oz bats. Any advise would be appreciated.
JC
Based on your son's height, weight and age, we would recommend looking into a 30 inch model in either a 19 or 20 ounce weight; depending on what you feel your player can handle. The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2 is a great option as is the 2018 DeMarini CF Zen -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUFX. The 2018 DeMarini CF Zen -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUFX will be better balanced than the hybrid design of the Voodoo with a weight of about 1/2 ounce heavier than listed weight. If you wanted to get something in a drop 11, then the 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 -11 USA Baseball Bat: WTLUBS618B11 would be a great option to consider.
Cameron
What's the difference between the DeMarini WTDXUD2 and WTDXUO2?
jerry p
The difference between the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2 and the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUO2 is the bat construction. The Voodoo One will offer you a one-piece alloy construction for a stiffer feel and potential for more vibrations on contact. The Voodoo will offer a two-piece hybrid construction with an alloy barrel and composite handle (in place to reduce vibrations.)
Tyler
What size bat should I buy for my 11 year old son? He is 56 inches tall and 84 lbs. Also, he loved the Mako beast but due to new bat rules, we need a new bat. Would this be a good comparison?
Marianne
Given your player's specifications, I would recommend a 29" bat. This 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2 is a two-piece hybrid bat with a composite handle and an alloy barrel. This will feel stiffer and provide a more audible noise on contact when compared to the two-piece fully composite construction of the Mako. However, the 3-Fusion technology should minimize negative feedback much like the Mako's of the past.
Tyler
Is this the right bat for my son who is 11, 5ft 6in and weighs 120? His previous bat was an Easton XL3 32' -11. He has tried the Beast -10 and did not like it.
marley
Based on what you have said about your son and his height and weight we would recommend the 32"/22 ounce 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2.
Carter
My son is 12 years old, 5'1" and 113 lbs. He is really strong. Would this bat work for him as far as size/swing?
Marni
Based on his height and weight, we would recommend a bat in the 31" length. He would probably be fine using this 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat (WTDXUD2) in the 31"/21 oz size. However, if he is especially strong, I might recommend looking to some -8 bats in the 31"/23 oz size as well.
Ben
My son's previous Voodoo weighed about 2.5 oz heavier than listed. Can this be expected with this Voodoo?
chris
This 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat (WTDXUD2) will come with a weight over what is listed (unfortunately, all the USA Bats are weighing a decent amount over what is listed). It appears that these Voodoo -10 USA bats are weighing about 1.5 oz over the listed amount.
Ben
My son is 11 years old, 5'1" tall, 90 lbs, average strength, and a switch hitter but prefers to hit from non-dominant side. What size bat would you recommend?
Byron
We would probably recommend a 30" or 31" length for his height and weight.
Kyle J.
My son is 4"4' and weighs 65 lbs. What size bat would you recommend?
Baseball Mom
We would recommend a 28" length as probably the most common for his height and weight.
Kyle J.
My son is starting out in Cal Ripken, is 8 years old, 51" tall, and weighs 52 lbs. What bat do you recommend for minimal sting and good balance?
Tomm
We would recommend a 28" length for his height and weight. The best bat we have for sting vibration in this size would be the 2018 Rawlings Quatro -10 USA (US8Q10). If you think a 29" would work, then this 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA (WTDXUD2) would also be an excellent option as we currently don't have it in stock in a 28" length.
Kyle J.
My son is 53" tall and about 65 pounds. What would you recommend for bat length and weight?
BaseballMom2
Based on your son's height and weight, I would recommend getting the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2 in a 28''. The correct weight will depend on his strength, but based on his size a -10 would most likely be the best size.
Tori
The cap on the knob end of this bat fell off. Will that affect the bat's pop?
Ryan
It will not affect the pop of the bat, no.
Kyle J.
My son is 10 years old and 4 ft 7 inches (56 inches) tall but only 62 pounds. He is a contact hitter. Which length and drop do you recommend and which bat? I think a balanced bat may be better for him thinking end weighted might make it seem to heavy? We also would like to reduce sting vibration. Please advise on which bat you might recommend.
J
I would recommend the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2 in a 29 inch length. The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2 features a balanced swing weight and two-piece construction. The two-piece technology will help reduce the vibration on your players hands.
Dan
My son is 54 inches tall and 73 pounds. What do you recommend for a bat length and weight?
Parks99
Based on your player's height and weight, I would suggest a 29" 19 oz. 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2.
Logan
Can"t decide between the voodoo or cf zen, which do you recommend?
jason
The main difference between these two bats in the material used for the barrels. This 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2 will have X14 Alloy whereas the 2018 DeMarini CF Zen -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUFX will provide a paraflex composite barrel. Your preference in bat will primarily be decided between whether you prefer alloy or composite barrel material.
Tyler
Is this bat a one-piece or two-piece?
payton
This bat is a two-piece, hybrid design with an alloy barrel and composite handle.
Kyle J.
What bat would be better 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 or the Louisville Slugger 618? Beside the price, and the 1 to 2 piece?
Dan
The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2 features new 3Fusion technology which has improved the durability and sting reduction of the bat. The 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 -11 USA Baseball Bat: WTLUBS618B11 will be one ounce lighter and will feature a new speed ballistic end cap which increases barrel length and improves balance.
Dan
Can you use the Voodoo in cold weather?
G
There is no set temperature where it gets too cold to use a bat, but we here at JustBats generally recommend 45 degrees as the rough cutoff where you want to use a cheaper, older bat if you can. The Voodoo does have an alloy barrel which is generally a bit better in the cold also.
Kyle J.
Is this bat a 2 5/8 barrel?
JP
Yes, the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2 is a 2 5/8" barrel.
Carter
Is this bat a composite model?
bart
The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo is a two-piece, hybrid design with an aluminum barrel and a composite handle.
Kyle J.
With the composite handle, does this bat need to be broken in like a total composite bat?
DB
The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat (WTDXUD2) features an alloy barrel so it does not need to be broken in.
JP
How far above the stated weight does this bat actually weigh, specifically in the 29 in?
the legendary Deuce
The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2 will come in about 1.6 ounces heavier than the listed weight.
Cameron
My son has been swinging a 30 inch -5 USSSA bat with success. He is doing a USA event and needs a USA bat. Would you suggest going to a drop 8 to create more bat speed to compensate for less pop of the USA bat?
Doug
Would not recommend dropping down in weight to compensate for the thicker barrel walls on the USA models. The lighter weight may increase bat speed slightly but with less weight to throw into the ball you may not see any difference in distance. Instead of looking into the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2 you would want to consider the 2018 Louisville Slugger Select 718 -5 USA Baseball Bat: WTLUBS718B5.
Cameron
Is this bat good to use in USSSA because your review questions below one says yes and the other says no. Can you please clarify?
Drew
It depends on the interpretation of "good to use." In the sense of legality, the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2 will be allowed for use in all USSSA play. However, in the sense of performance level, it would not be wise to use this bat as it will be noticeably lower performing than a USSSA model.
Tyler
Would this bat be good for my 10 yr old son? He's 5’ tall, 115 lbs. and he plays 12u.
macho
The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2 is one of the highest rated USA bats, so it would certainly be a great option for your player. If he's 12, this would be the last year I would suggest a -10 bat. At 13 and 14 you would want him to start swinging a -8 or -5 to transition to a -3 that is required in high school baseball.
Logan
What is the difference between this bat and the voodoo balanced?
Rawlin richardson
The DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2 is a balanced bat as well. The reason this doesn't say Voodoo Balanced is because there isn't and end loaded, or "Insane," model to differentiate it from at the -10 USA level. The only bat we have listed as Voodoo Balanced on our site is the DeMarini Voodoo Balanced BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVBC19, which is to differentiate it from the DeMarini Voodoo Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVIC19.

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.

Description

New for the season! The 'Glowstick' from Rawlings is back and bright as ever. The Quatro baseball bat made such an impact during its debut season that Rawlings has decided to bring it back for a second go around. They've pushed the standards of baseball bats to new levels and bat technology to never before seen performance levels that outshine the competition (pun intended). Performance, flex, balance, and ball flight are just a few of the features that the Rawlings Quatro is sure to enhance during each and every at-bat. If you're a contact hitter who can handle a longer barrel, the Quatro is a perfect fit for you. While it does have an extended barrel construction for more plate coverage, a newly designed lightweight end cap reduces unnecessary weight towards the end of the barrel which helps increase overall swing speed and control through the zone. On top of that, the patented hinge system delivers focused flex, which helps hitters swing through the ball and generate unbelievable pop. Yet again, Rawlings is peeling back the curtains, so to speak, and displaying the carbon fiber composite barrel insides through the Tru-View Technology. Between the composite barrel and handle is Rawlings' Vibration Dampening Technology (VDT), also known as the 'Quatro Collar,' which is a silicone-infused collar that eliminates sting in the hands and provides an incredibly smooth feel at impact. The best part? Each one of these Rawlings Quatro baseball bats are made with pride in the USA (patent pending). Rawlings: Above The Standard!

This Rawlings Quatro USA Baseball Bat (US8Q10) features a drop 10 length to weight ratio, a 2 5/8-inch barrel diameter, and the USA Baseball certified stamp. With that certification, this model is approved for play in AABC, Babe Ruth, Cal Ripken, Dixie Youth, Little League, and Pony. Shine bright on the diamond and pick up one of these Rawlings baseball bats today with free shipping and a full one (1) year manufacturer's warranty. Traffic Cone John Simonas parent

Pros: Cool Graphics

Cons: This bat is terrible. I bought for my son online, (not here unfortunately, because I paid for shipping!) and he tried it for 2 days and we are sending it back. The barrel is incredibly small, there really is no sweet spot and I wonder if it is really even a full big barrel. It looks like a traffic cone when you actually get it. Its also very heavy, not really a -10 like it says. Should have known, Rawlings are great gloves but the bats always stink vs others.

2018 Rawlings Quatro -10 USA Baseball Bat: US8Q10 Christine parent

Pros: Large sweet spot, has cool graphics, low vibration, excellent grip. One of the few 2 5/8 -10 in 28" with usa bat seal. My son loves this bat and it has increased his confidence tremendously. Once he forgot his gloves and ripped it with ease. No ringing, and that's been an issue for him. Great piece of equipment. ordered at 4 pm was here next day by 12:30. Fantastic express ship.

Cons: none yet Still new so will see how many hits it has in it.

Overall Solid good performing USA made bat Joe Tambini parent

Pros: Great pop,and solid performing bat. Great high visibility look and awesome grip. My 9U son loves it. He is a contact hitter, and this bat provides great consistency for his swing type. Once in a while he gets a hold of one and the ball just jumps. Also worth mentioning there is never any uncomfortable vibration

Cons: None that I can think of, other than maybe the end weighting has taken my son a little getting used to, but this is his first high performance bat

Pros: After 4 rounds of bp for my 9 year old son. These are our impressions. - No hand sting period - Ball JUMPS off the barrel. Not so much (as expected) off the barrel. -Style points. My son loves the bright colors and overall look of the bat. -Comfortable grip and has no trouble getting around 30/20. Coming from Mako xl 29/19.

Cons: Hard to say because I have no other usa bat to compare yet. -Not as many bombs hit. On the plus side higher contact rate. Probably due to the barrel size increase. (2 1/4 to 2 5/8) The pitches my son got ahold of do carry about as far. -Minor durability gripe. Not sure how well the batting tape is attached. Might have to replace early. Probably more of a bat to bat issue. The bat itself appears solid, but too soon to know.

As expected Chad Clark coach

Pros: The bat is exactly what we expected. The USA Bat doesn't have as much pop as the 2017 Quattro. But... we expected that. It does how ever have enough pop to get the job done. Great balanced feel. No sting and out of the 50 hits on it, 2 dingers. Our team is always torn between the Quattros and the older Maxxums.

Cons: None. It was exactly as we expected out of a USA bat.

Pros: We got the bat the night of my sons first game and he walked twice then finally got a good pitch to swing at and hit a laser to the gap. The sound of the bat was fantastic a nice loud twang, and the colors of the bat are awesome. I think my son will have more confidence in the bat just because it looks and feels so good

Cons: none yet, but we have been a Easton family for years this is our first Rawlings bat hope it doesn't let us down, honestly the color is what made me buy the bat I was going to get the Easton ghost hope I made the right decision

Great Bat for my 9 year old 31" Winter Park parent

Pros: My son loves this new bat. He was swinging a 2013 Mako Torq 30/20. This bat is a 31" but is only a half oz heavier. I must have purchased him a dead bat before. The Mako Torq was used and a 2013. He instantly hit the ball further and it appeared to have more velocity off the bat. Even his private trainer mentioned how it's weird that all we hear is that the new bats won't go as far as the previous but this bat is making him hit harder and further. We are happy with it, for sure. His hands have not been stung once! We know several people that have purchased the Ghost X and ALL of them are complaining. We are happy with our purchase.

Pros: It hits pretty well, we knew it wasn't going to have as much pop, but it has a good over all feel. No vibration at all. If you make good contact it'll travel. It does hit harder than the higher end aluminum USA bats.

Cons: It cracked within the first month. Rawlings did give me a double warranty, so that was nice, and the turn around was quick.

Travel Baseball Coach Central California Luis V coach

Pros: Looks Great, No sting

Cons: I will write this review with respect to the new horrible bat rule generated for 2018. As a travel ball coach, and blessed to be a father of a power hitting 10u player, we both could not have been more disappointed after Christmas. I knew going into this purchase the bats had changed and the trampoline effect was more or less gone. We went through about 200 swings that were moral killers! My kid would crush the ball as a 10U player reaching 250ft on a good shot, with this new Rawlings Quatro Bat, the ball just dies and lands around 175 ft.. THEN, after him chucking the bat to the side, he picked up his Marucci maple wood bat and started crushing the ball back in the 200 ft plus area. In my opinion, if their trying to get these new bats to swing like wood bats, then JUST BUY a wood bat! There are great $100+ wood bats out there!

Bat cracked after 3 practices Frank P parent

Pros: Cool graphics, good feel, decent pop

Cons: I took my son out to use this bat as soon as we got it, felt good, hit decent with it, but nothing like his Mako from last year. On his first practice, the paint seemed to chip of in an X pattern. Today, on his third practice, it cracked completely in that same pattern. We will be returning this bat for an exchange, and give it another try. Unfortunately, with this new bat rule, we do not have many avenues to explore.

So far so goood Dan parent

Pros: My son plays 9U travel ball and uses a senior league Velo drop 12 29/17. We had to get a USA bat for Pony league and we went into a store that allows demos. He liked the feel of it and tells me at times it feels better than his Velo. I did get him the 28/18 since it is a drop 10. He comes around on it well. Appears to have comparable "pop" and with these bats the vibration is eliminated, plus my son really likes the grip on the Rawlings bats!!!

Cons: I put 5 stars on durability, it is early yet as we bought this bat a few weeks ago and really have been breaking in during indoor practice with travel team. So time will tell.

Pros: Hands down the best bat I have ever had. Feels amazing and has tramendous pop. A great bat for being in high school.

Cons: The first kne that I got broke in 8 months when the cal flew off. I hit a lot and used it so I was like ok I understand, it got a lot of use. Then I send it in and they send me the 2018 (the first one was 2017). Withing the first two months of having it, I am hitting in the cage, and I no joke hit a hole into the barrell. For an expensive bat they need a lot more duribulity.

Pros: Color

Cons: HORRIBLE bat. The first quatro I purchased cracked after two weeks. Warranty dept said there was a 3-4 week turnaround for a replacement. Sent it back for store credit (you can't get a refund). Purchased a second Quatro and it cracked on the first use! Unbelievable. Still dealing with Rawlings on this. They refuse to give a refund on what is obviously a defective model. They are aware of numerous other cracked bats in this model and are refusing to recall this bat. What happened to safety first especially with a product for children. Rawlings, please recall this bat before someone gets hurt. What ever happened to standing behind your product? Now I'm stuck with $600 worth of store credit. Do not purchase this product.

Pros: My son is an 11u travel baseball player. Prior to this year he used a Louisville Prime16 and Demarini Voodoo Overlord 2015 both of which lasted 2 or more seasons, never with any issues. My son tested a bunch of higher end bats at a demo, Ghost, hyperlite, slugger 718, quattro, and Voodoo, he thought the quatro felt the best, at the time of purchase the Zen was not available. we had never purchased a rawlings bat in the past but from other reviews and youtube videos the bat seemed to be getting good buzz. Bat seemed to have decent pop from first swing, nice sweet spot and no vibration when hitting.

Cons: Bat cracked after month and 1/2 of indoor only, tee, soft toss and live pitching use. Craked during a tee seession. He rotated the bat to tey to work it in properly. He never kept the bat out in the cold. The craking issue seems to be common issue if you go onto the Rawlings site, quattro reviews. I DID NOT BUY THIS BAT FROM Justbats WEBSITE

Pros: I purchased this bat for my 12 yr old son playing little league. We chose the 29/10 it has cool colors. He was using another players Quatro in 31/10 but it was too heavy. My son loves this bat. He went 2/2 in first game with a nice drive in right center on his first hit. this bat is well balanced and has pop considering the new bat rules. Bat Cracked in multiple places on barrel. Charles parent

Pros: It had good POP before it cracked.

Cons: The Bat worked well when it was all in tact.... My 9 year old used the 30 oz 10 drop bat and he hit a few over the fence but then after a batting practice we noticed there were cracks all across the bat.... It's too bad because he loved it and it has some really nice pop comparative to many of the other new USA bats. Absolutely unacceptable for such an expensive bat. We had to mail the bat back to Rawlings and they had to "test it" and thoroughly review the bat. They determined it was defective and sent me the 2019 Rawlings Quatro Pro.... The whole process took 3-4 weeks in the middle of the baseball season so he had to use a friends bat in the interim. It was very inconvenient. I'll provide an update on the 2019 Quatro Pro when we break it in.

He played kid pitched and pop was better than expected for a USA bat but not close to the pop of a USSA bat. Large sweet spot especially when compared to the other USA bats. Vibration free. Great bat for the USA certified bat market.

Cons: He played full season this year 21 games, 16 All star and finished 8 game fall ball, no cons yet

Huge Barrel and nice pop! Kyle Coach

Pros: Huge Barrel and nice pop! My son (8yrs old) got upgraded from the 2018 Rawlings 5150 -10 27/17. My son loves the way it is super balanced, no sting, not heavy (very close to weight on label), the big barrel size, and the way it pops off the barrel better than his old bat. Today was his first game using the quatro, and he had a shot out to left center, a solid grounder and a line drive between third and short. Pretty good for not breaking it in yet.

Cons: None.

Pros: Good bat while it lasted

Cons: My kids bat lasted 13 months and 2 days, after 6 attempts to rawlings customer service I was told that I'm out of luck, they wouldn't even entertain the thought of giving some credit towards a new bat. will never buy rawlings products anymore!!!

Pros: I was worried it would be dead at first but it has the same pop as the Rawling Quattro bat he had been borrowing that is one year old. My son likes that there is no sting or vibration when hitting. One other player stated to borrow this one right away for the games.

BEST USA BAT so far Phillip T Lin Parent

Pros: I dont know why the previous reviewer said this thing has a small barrel?!?! Are there any bigger barrels than this in a USA cert? The barrel is pretty big, and this is coming from a parent whos son plays USSSA Travel ball and uses a 2 3/4!! TONS OF POP! Probably the hottest bat for USA right now. (I have yet to try the 2020 -12 cherry bomb Quatro, but I've tried them all!)

Cons: It does swing a tad bit heavier than a 18oz bat but not a big deal. People who complain about durability, just FYI guys, typically HOT composites do not last as long bats with 'high" durability. Its the price you pay for a HOT BAT! Check out all the hottest bats, they always tend to have durability issues due to the HUGE flex in the material. Theres a warranty if thats your worry, but if the 2018 breaks, Rawlings will send you their 2019 version, more durable, NOT as hot! I still have no gotten any issues with durability yet. With the price of where this is discounted to, BUY IT!

What is the weight of the 29/19 when weighed? Slick bat!
Cliff
The 2018 Rawlings Quatro -10 USA Baseball Bat: US8Q10 will weigh in at roughly 1.3 ounces heavier than listed weight.
Cameron
Will the new composite "USA" bats require a break in period or will the "pop" be relatively the same with the new standards?
TONY
The 2018 Rawlings Quatro -10 USA Baseball Bat: US8Q10 will more than likely require a slight break in before being game ready.
Cameron
Is this the new bat kids can use in Little League?
aj
The 2018 Rawlings Quatro -10 USA Baseball Bat: US8Q10 is a model that players can use in Little League in 2018 as this bat features the USA Baseball certification stamp.
Cameron
Which USA standard Little League bat has the largest sweet spot?
Mac3150
We would not know whether the 2018 Rawlings Quatro -10 USA Baseball Bat: US8Q10, or any other USA bat stamped model, will have a larger sweet spot compared to others. The performance capabilities on these bats will be very similar and much less than the previous USSSA models due to the thicker barrel walls on USA models.
Cameron
Can I get the bat rolled by you?
rick fiallo
No we cannot roll the 2018 Rawlings Quatro -10 USA Baseball Bat: US8Q10 and we do not recommend doing that to any bat.
Max
My son is 12 and is a smaller kid. He is a contact hitter but doesn't have a lot of power. Would this be a good bat for him?
magoo
Yes, the 2018 Rawlings Quatro -10 USA Baseball Bat: US8Q10 is a well balanced bat, constructed with a light weight end cap for better bat control for smaller players.
Logan
More than likely going to give this bat a shot, but since there is only one review, I would like to know about your exchange program?
Dad in AZ
Here at JustBats, our return policy says that any item in unused condition can be returned for a full refund or exchange. Sadly, if you guys were to use the bat and determine it is not to your liking, we would not be able to take it back for refund or exchange (one thing I would note before making any purchase of a USA Baseball Bat is that it will be lower performing than the USSSA 1.15 bats that may have been used in the past).
Ben
Can my 8 year old use this bat in Little League?
Meg
Yes, the 2018 Rawlings Quatro -10 USA Baseball Bat: US8Q10 features the USA stamp and is legal for Little League. It would be a great option for an 8 year old.
Carter
We went to a bat demo yesterday and really liked the Quatro -10. The only one available for the boys to hit with was a 30'/20 oz. Your Bat Coach recommends a 31'. (He just turned 11, is 5"1'/100 lbs and is likely to be 5"2'/105 lbs in the Spring.) Does that size seem right to you, or would he be better off with a 30'?
Jack
If you feel as through your player will continue to grow this winter and into the spring, my suggestion would be to get this 2018 Rawlings Quatro -10 USA Baseball Bat (US8Q10) in the 31"/21 oz size (as long as you feel he will be able to handle the 21 oz weight).
Ben
My son is 8.5 and will turn 9 in the spring. He is 55" and 95 lbs. Would the 31" 21 oz be too big? For $300 I would like for him to swing it for 2 years.
daddyball
Based on your players current height and weight, we suggest a 30" model of the 2018 Rawlings Quatro -10 USA Baseball Bat: US8Q10. If you comfortable with your player swing a bigger bat though you could certainly go with the 31" model.
Jason
Is this bat USSSA approved?
Bobby
The 2018 Rawlings Quatro -10 USA Baseball Bat: US8Q10 is a USA Bat and you can use USA bats in USSSA play.
Carter
Since the collar is angled does that mean the bat has to be hit facing a certain direction (either facing the direction or against the angle)?
Phil
The direction in which the collar is angled will not affect the way this 2018 Rawlings Quatro -10 USA Baseball Bat (US8Q10) performs when making contact with a baseball. You can hit with the collar facing any direction.
Ben
What is your return policy if he doesn't like the bat, feel or hit?
big nik
I recommend swinging a new bat with the wrapper still on and hitting tennis balls off a tee or soft toss. That way you can see if the 2018 Rawlings Quatro -10 USA Baseball Bat: US8Q10 will be a good fit. This will allow you to send the bat back if you do not like the feel.
Dan
Trying to decide between this bat and the Ghost X for my 11 year old. He is 5"8' with good power and bat speed. In your opinion, which has the best overall performance? He used a Mako -10 the last two seasons.
e rock
It's hard for me to say one bat performs better than another. I think both the 2018 Rawlings Quatro -10 USA Baseball Bat: US8Q10 and the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 will be great options. The Ghost X might be considered to be a more ideal bat for a power hitter but that will vary slightly from player to player.
Dan
How does the barrel length of this bat compare to the Beast X of the same size?
erik
The barrel lengths are quite similar. The Beast X may have just a slightly longer barrel than the 2018 Rawlings Quatro -10 USA Baseball Bat: US8Q10.
Tyler
My son is 9u 75lbs 4'9" solid hitter plays up in age. He used a 28-18 last season. What size would you recommend for him this year?
LD
Based off the information you've provided, I would recommend the 2018 Rawlings Quatro -10 USA Baseball Bat: US8Q10 in a 30 inch bat length and a -10 drop weight.
Dan
Does the Quatro carry true weight or is it heavier? End-loaded or balanced?
LD
All bats usually feature a static weight that is 0.5 to 1.5 oz over what is listed. This 2018 Rawlings Quatro -10 USA Baseball Bat (US8Q10) will most likely display that feature as well. In regard to feel, this Quatro should be more balanced in its feel.
Ben
Can you tell me if the Quatro -10 USA bat cracks easily. I'm really leaning toward this bat but have read a few reviews that stated they broke easily.
Mike
Every now and then we see bats crack which can be for a variety of reasons. Personally, I have not heard much about the 2018 Rawlings Quatro -10 USA Baseball Bat: US8Q10 having problems with cracking. As long as you follow proper bat using procedures, you shouldn't have any issues.
Dan
My son will be 11 soon. He"s about 62 lbs and 53", 55" with cleats. Would this bat in a 30" be a good fit?
min
Based upon your player's height and weight, our general recommendation would be a 29" bat. With that being said, if your player is comfortable with the additional ounce on the 30" bat (30"/20 oz), your player should be fine swinging the 30" .
Taylor
Is it okay to use the Quatro in 60 degree weather?
MW
Ideally you do not want to use any bat in temperatures below about 55 or 60 degrees. If you are right around that 60 degree mark on the 2018 Rawlings Quatro -10 USA Baseball Bat: US8Q10 you should be fine. The ball itself becomes more dense in colder temperatures and that is what can cause issues for bats.
Jason
My son is 9 years old and is about 59 lbs and about 52 1/2 inches tall. He uses a 28/18 drop 10, 2 5/8 barrel bat currently. Because we need to change bats due to the stamp change, should I go up to a 29/19 or stay at the 28/18? I don't want him to use this new, more expensive bat for one season and then be too big for it the next season.
Neil
Based off the information you've provided I would recommend your player to swing the 2018 Rawlings Quatro -10 USA Baseball Bat: US8Q10 in a 28 inch length. If you want this bat to last for next season too then I would recommend the 29 inch. Just keep in mind that it might be heavy at the start.
Dan
My son is 5"2" and 95 pounds. What length and weight do you suggest?
Duke Shovald
Based on your player's height and weight, I would suggest a 31" 2018 Rawlings Quatro -10 USA Baseball Bat: US8Q10.
Logan
My son is 5'4" and 140 lb what size would you recommend? He is 11.
jojo
I would recommend the 2018 Rawlings Quatro -10 USA Baseball Bat: US8Q10 in a 31 inch based off the information you have provided.
Dan
My son is 11 and 5'6" and 130 lbs. Would 32 inches work?
bob
Based on your son's height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2018 Rawlings Quatro -10 USA Baseball Bat: US8Q10 in a 32 inch model.
Cameron
My son is 10 and small for his age at 4'4" and 56lbs. He is a really good contact hitter but doesn't hit for power. He plays on a 10U travel team. Last year he used an Easton S500C 28", drop 12. He controls it very well. Would you recommend him using the Quatro in a 28 or 29"? Really torn between the two.
dug
Based on your player's current height and weight, I would suggest the 28" 2018 Rawlings Quatro -10 USA Baseball Bat: US8Q10. However, if you feel your player could grow a couple inches rather quickly and can handle the 19 ounce weight, he is very close to needing a 29" bat.
Logan
What has a bigger barrel diameter the Easton Ghost x or the Rawlings Quatro?
lucasejlarson
Both bats will have a 2 5/8" barrel diameter under the new USA certification rules.
Kyle J.
My son just received the 29/19 and the bat seems to be quite heavy. What is the actual weight?
MartyA
The 2018 Rawlings Quatro -10 USA Baseball Bat: US8Q10 runs about 0.7 ounces heavier than the listed weight. The 29/19 weights about 19.7 ounces.
Tori
I've been reading a lot of reviews about the Quatro and have noticed a lot of complaints about the bat not holding up. There has been lots of reviews describing the Quatro bats denting and tearing easily. I am concerned because the bat is not cheap.
TD
Although we have seen some warranty claims on the 2018 Rawlings Quatro -10 USA Baseball Bat: US8Q10 that have been forwarded on to Rawlings for replacement it is tough to say if this bat is not holding up as well compared to the other options on the market. With any composite bat, it will crack after some time and unfortunately there is no way to determine the life span of a bat. The use of this bat in colder weather as well as for every swing the player takes will certainly break down the composite at a faster rate.
Cameron
Does the BBCOR Rawlings Quatro require a breaking in period?
Craig
Yes, we recommend that you hit 150-200 balls, rotating the barrel a quarter turn every 10-15 hits in order to fully break in the 2018 Rawlings Quatro -10 USA Baseball Bat: US8Q10.
Tyler
Is this bat available in a 31/28 -3?
Richard
The 2018 Rawlings Quatro -10 USA Baseball Bat: US8Q10 is not available in a -3 as these bats are BBCOR models. If seeking a 31/28 Quatro then you would be seeking the 2018 Rawlings Quatro BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB8Q3; unfortunately this bat is sold out in the 31/28 size.
Cameron
What is the warranty on this bat? What do I do if the bat breaks?
tkv81
The 2018 Rawlings Quatro -10 USA Baseball Bat: US8Q10 has a 12 month manufacturer's warranty. The warranty is handled by Rawlings and you would need to contact them directly to start a warranty claim.
Tori
Are you allowed to use BBCOR bats in little league because they don't have as much pop?
Kelly
Some leagues for ages 13-14+ will allow the use of BBCOR models, however most leagues below that age will not. I would check with your coach or league commissioner to double check what is allowed for your specific league, as it can vary by region.
Kyle J.
My 8-year-old uses an end-loaded -11 Rawlings. It suits him well for coach pitch. Does he need a balanced bat for kid-pitch due to faster but less calculated pitches, and if so, what drop weight?
jcw
Typically once moving up for kid-pitch a player will react to differences in pitch location and pitch speed more effectively with a balanced option. With the change in pitch speed and pitch location it can often be tough to react quickly enough with the end-load. Because of that I would recommend switching to a more balanced option in a 28'' 18, which is about the right size for an 8 year old.
Max
Is 29/19 good for my 10 year old son?
Lyndon
The 2018 Rawlings Quatro -10 USA Baseball Bat: US8Q10 is a great bat that is balanced and would be a good choice for a 10 year old. The right length will depend on his height and weight.
Tori
Which bat has more pop to it, 2018 Rawlings Quatro -10 USA or the 2019 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA?
Kyle
With both being USA approved -10 bats, there isn't much difference in performance between the two. With the Rawlings Quatro -10 USA Baseball Bat: US8Q10 being a fully composite model, you may notice a slightly larger sweet spot and lighter swing weight, while the alloy barrel of the DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD219 offers peak performance right out of the wrapper.
Logan
What kind of warranty does it have? Sounds like it cracks very easily. I'm very skeptical about the purchase. What bat has your company seen as a good USA bat? We had the Easton ghost and hated it. Thanks in advance.
Chris Tyndall
The Rawlings Quatro -10 USA Baseball Bat: US8Q10 will come with a one-year manufacturer's warranty to protect in the result of a crack. The Quatro has been a good USA model along with the Rawlings Velo and the DeMarini Voodoo.
Tyler
Can my son hit the weighted sand balls and also hit the practice stick with the ball connected to the end? I heard that Rawlings doesn't recommend using the Quatro at a batting cage, is this true? Other then that awesome bat so far, says my son.
Kyle
Generally speaking, you don't want to use your game bat or best bat when hitting anything other than regulation baseballs. The dimpled balls at the batting cages can shorten the lifespan of any bat since they have a different density than a standard ball. I would be a little hesitant hitting weighted balls as well for this reason.
Kyle J.
Does JustBats offer a warranty on this bat?
Dc
This bat along with almost every other aluminum/composite baseball and fastpitch bat comes with a 12 month warranty. The warranty is guaranteed by the manufacturer however, now us here at JustBats. We will provide a free shipping label addressed to the manufacturer if a warranty is needed, but warranty claims need to be filed with the manufacturer on their site or over the phone, and shipped to them for the free, one-time replacement model.
Kyle J.
Is this USSSA certified?
Jason
No, the Rawlings Quatro -10 USA Baseball Bat: US8Q10 is only USA certified.
Tyler
Does Rawlings warranty the 2018 model??
Chris
Yes, it comes with a 12 month warranty through Rawlings.

About the Brand

Rawlings is a major manufacturer of competitive team sports equipment and apparel for baseball, basketball, and football, as well as licensed MLB, NFL, and NCAA retail products. Rawlings is a major supplier to professional, collegiate, interscholastic and amateur organizations worldwide, including the Official Baseball Supplier to Major League Baseball.

The first real innovation in glove making occurred in 1912 when Rawlings Sporting Goods Company introduced the "Sure Catch" glove, which was "endorsed by leading players all over the country." The Sure Catch was a one-piece glove with sewn-in finger channels and looked better suited for a duck's foot than a man's hand. Catchers' mitts used at the time were large and bulky with a single leather thong passing for a web.

In 1920, Bill Doak, a journeyman pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, approached Rawlings with an idea for improving the baseball glove from a mere protective device to a genuine aid in fielding. The "Bill Doak" model was so revolutionary that it stayed in Rawlings' line until 1953. Its key feature was a multi-thong web laced into the first finger and thumb, which created for the first time in baseball's young life, a natural pocket.

In 1925, Rawlings unveiled a three-fingered fielder's glove, and ten years later improved the Bill Doak model with a two-piece leather web. At the same time, the "T" web became a rage for first basemen's mitts. The pocket underwent a pronounced change in 1941 when the Trapper Mitt, also known as the Claw, appeared. The "Deep Well" pocket was so unique that Rawlings quickly patented it. The design was improved in 1950 by adding a leather piece across the top. Another significant creation occurred in 1948 with the three-fingered Playmaker. A five-fingered fielder's model, with all fingers laced together, provided greater pocket control.

The six-fingered Trap-Eze evolved in the 1960's. In more recent years, Rawlings produced the Fastback design, which gives a glove a snugger fit, greater extension, and overall control. The Holdster is a slot through which a finger can be extended for additional protection from impacts on the pocket. Then, there is the Edge-U-Cated Heel with its extended U-shaped lacing and the Pro H Web and much-copied Basket Web.

Some of Rawlings more recent glove innovations also include the unique Spin-Stopper design which reduces ball spin when the ball hits the glove, and the Cantilever glove design feature that provides a cushioned area between the hand and the glove's palm area. In all, Rawlings has produced and patented more functionally innovative glove features and designs than that of any other glove manufacturer. The result is that the modern baseball glove is much larger, more comfortable, better padded and made to last far longer than its ancestors. It is not uncommon to see today's Major League players wearing the same Rawlings' glove they wore during their college playing days. In fact, Rawlings is the #1 glove in the major leagues. Rawlings maintains about 65 models of baseball and softball mitts and gloves in its line. The prototypes of virtually all of them have been field tested by professionals before entering a sporting goods dealer's inventory.
