Axe Pro Hard Maple Wood Baseball Bat: L118 Adult |
-
Feels great to swing
-
Best wood bat I have ever purchased
“Only bat I will use”
by Peter F (player)Pros: Handle is so comfortable Ton of pop! Extremely durable I feel confident with this bat in my hands
Cons: None
“It Feels So Good”
by Trent W. (player)Pros: This bat really is the most comfortable bat I have ever swung! There's no denying that it is made to fit in your hands. I feel like I am squaring up more balls too. I have been swinging my axe bat for 3 months now and it still has great pop with minimal dents.
Cons: I really wish there were more color / custom options. Their standard color options are solid, but I prefer to go against the grain, no pun intended, with bat colors. Add color options but maintain the quality!
“Best Bat”
by Matt V. (player)Pros: Best wood bat I have ever purchased. It gets my hands through the zone fast while still maintaining power. I've been using it in my college summer league and it has stood up to 90+ pitching. About 30 games played with it and still no breaking. 100% worth the money.
Cons: I bought a lizard skin but it does not really work on this bat because of the handle shape.
“Great feel, terrible durability, no warranty”
by MattB (player)Pros: Feels great to swing. Ball does jump if hit in right spot.
Cons: Broke on 4th swing. Ball was hit just off center and shattered. Not the first time. Need to hit perfectly square every time or you are just tossing your money away. No refunds. If you are going to use this bat in a game better be sure you have a backup--or three ready to go.

Is this bat made by Victus? And is it high quality wood?

Is it normal to have the laces from the ball leave an impression on the bat? I've never noticed it with other bats but it might just be the natural finish or something else I'm not sure. The wood seems soft, maybe I got a bad bat?
Yes, it is normal to be able to see the lace impression left of the barrel of a wood bat. Especially ones with a natural finish such as the Axe Pro Hard Maple Wood Baseball Bat (L118) Adult.

Does the AXE handle feel awkward? Or does it just feel like a better grip?
The handle on the Axe Pro Hard Maple Wood Baseball Bat (L118 Adult) is actually more ergonomic (i.e. provides optimum comfort to avoid stress or injury) than regular bat handles. I actually feel that if any player gave the Axe handle a try they would find it more comfortable and easier to use than regular handles.

Very impressed. My bat arrived 3 business days after I placed the order even though there was a holiday weekend involved.

Pros: This bat has Axe's sweet, sweet handle. If you haven't tried one, you should. This bat won't make you a better hitter overnight... It isn't magic. It is just very comfortable, and has plenty of 'pop.' The fit and finish are quite good. I'm enjoying it quite a lot. I'm hitting about the same, but the pommel never hurts my palm, there is virtually no movement in my grip, and batting gloves almost feel optional.
Cons: I'm sure I'll break it eventually, but it IS a wood bat and that comes with the territory. The Axe logo is a sticker, and it peeled up pretty quickly in the humid Texas weather. This is not a functional problem, of course. I wish they would have used a natural finish. The lacquer (or paint?) on the handle make it feel slippery (it really isn't), and the lack of lacquer for the bleed dot breaks the otherwise consistent feel of the handle. I find that to be mildly distracting at times. All in all an excellent bat, and my 'cons' are very minimal.
