Pros:
My review will cover SoftballBats.com & the Bat itself: SoftballBats.com customer service is excellent. I've used this site for about 3 years now and they honor warranties from manufacturer and there is always a rep available to speak with when you call. Highly recommend this site. The bat has very good pop.
Cons:
Only con is that you can't choose the exact weight, but this is a problem with many wood bats.

Are all the Xbat's for 2013 USSSA approved? I would like to get a wood bat but I know they changed the standards for 2013.

All of the Xbats are approved for USSSA and ASA in 2013.

About XBat
XBat

We are proud to present the X Bat, the choice of players seeking a wood baseball bat that is longer, stronger, and more resistant to breaking than traditional ash. It seems more and more young baseball players are training with wood bats. There is nothing like the sound of good solid contact between horsehide and wood. Unlike aluminum bats, a wood bat gives a hitter immediate feedback as to the quality of his contact. For the past few years, the X Bat has been the choice of players seeking a stronger, longer lasting wood bat. The problem is the short supply of top quality wood to make .... read more

Description for X Bat Maple Wood Softball Bat: SB71 Black/Electric Yellow Slow Pitch
X Bats are made from the finest hard maple available anywhere. More and more bat companies are advertising hard maple bats but what they don't tell you are the differences in hard maple as a wood. X Bat has found the hardest of the hard maple to make our bats. While hard maple is prized for its density and strength, with these benefits comes a big liability for any bat maker - extra weight. Most bat makers can't afford to throw out half of their hard maple billets that are too heavy. Instead they use soft maple, red maple, or lighter maple grown in warmer climates. These yield more usable-weight billets, but do not deliver the performance of X Bat's hard maple bats. Hard maple bats are made from maple grown in Eastern Canada, New England, down through Pennsylvania and across to Wisconsin. All hard maple is not created equal. Through the trials and tribulations of making more maple bats than any other bat manufacturer, X Bat has identified the right kind of maple to make the hardest, longest lasting hard maple bats. Using variables like soil mineral content, weather patterns during peak growth periods, seasonal temperature differentials, and selecting the right time of year to harvest logs, X Bat's hard maple bats have become the choice of the top hitters at every level of the game. If you want really hard maple, get yourself an X Bat. The X Bat SB71 softball bat features a long barreled designed with a quick taper that transitions to a flared 15/16 inch handle. X Bat: The Players' Choice! The SB59 is approved for play in ASA. Free Shipping!
