Miken Ultra II Senior Softball: MSU2 Slow Pitch |
Average Customer Review
I have been using the Ultra II senior bat for Over 6 years, i purchase many ULTRA II senior bats....during the first 4 years, This was the BAT!!! the ball goes an extra 50 feet without any effort.
But over the last 2 years Miken Ultra II Senior bats tend to break more easily at the sweet spot, in addition, the performance level dropped dramatically. I personally bought approximately 15 bats at $200 a pop...My team purchased over 300 of these. Not happy heard through the grapevine, Miken "quality control" has diminished or not taking them seriously...not worth buying them, unless they take these reviews seriously. Otherwise Bye Bye!!! Many senior leagues in Central Florida are switching over to the Reebok Melee senior bats..Miken you better improve or else...

I have had two of these bats. The first was hot out of the box and after giving me much gratification, it finally broke. I had a second similar bat but after over a 100 hits it is very flat and has no pop. I've done better with traditional bats. A friend who is a student of hitting and bats says he heard that there may have been a batch of these bats that were substandard. I'd like your input about this before I purchase another bat.
I have not heard anything about a bad shipment of the Miken Ultra II Senior Softball: MSU2 Slow Pitch bats. But we will keep our ears open. Typically, these are very high performing.
I've been told you need to break-in the bat. Do you, and if so, what has to be done?
You do have to break-in the Miken Ultra II Senior Softball bat. It will require a 150-200 swing break-in period. Off of soft toss or a tee, start out at 50% power and work your way up from there. Make sure to rotate the bat 1/4 turn in between each hit. After 150-200 hits, the bat will be ready for game use.
