Description

The latest addition to the Omaha line, the Omaha XT Stiff is raising the bar once again. The standard for the TPX Omaha has been the solid performance and cutting edge toughness year after year. Building off of the success of the H2, the Omaha XT Stiff Technology is the next step in optimizing the composite/alloy hybrid design. This hybrid design bonds the ST+20 Alloy barrel and the 7C composite handle seamlessly, providing the outstanding performance of a one-piece stiff handle design. The move to a full 100% graphite composite design in the transition area allows for an even stiffer handle than offered in the EXOGRID. Graphite is used because it is lighter and stronger than aluminum, which results in increased swing speed and power at the plate. The barrel of the Omaha XT Stiff is constructed with Louisville Slugger's flagship ST+20 Alloy. This alloy has years of proven strength and toughness combined with the performance, feel and sound that top players demand, making this a bat that top players can rely on. When Louisville Slugger was constructing this design, they put a focus on a larger sweetspot and extended barrel. While this increased sweetspot and hitting area makes solid contact easier, the stiff handle produces more barrel flex resulting in maximum trampoline effect. Get a bat that's going to last at a value that can't be beat and step your game up to the next level with the TPX Omaha XT Stiff! The Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha XT Stiff comes with a full twelve (12) month manufacturer's warranty. Louisville Slugger: Performance Products for Championship Performances! Free Shipping!

Pros: Good stiff bat, neutral balance. Big difference from my 7 yr old son's previous bat. Ball jumps off the bat. Good price, quick shipping - I selected the free shipping and bat was here in two days (unfortunately about 2 hours after the season opener but wasn't expecting it until the following week).

Cons: Says it stings on some hits - but batting gloves solved that. Marks up easily but I'm not concerned about the cosmetics, just and observation.

Pros: First, price b/c bought it in a bat pack. Second, the bat has great pop, even with mishits the ball jumps off more than other bats (even composites). My son is 10 and has 31/19 and he is hitting some hard line drives that one hop the fence.

Cons: Vibration when hit off the very end, but thats any bat you use and is batter error not bat malfunction. Great Bat!

Pros: Great bat at great price. Purchased for my 10yr. old son but many of the kids on our team use it. They prefer it over the all aluminum bats that give them stingers. Last night my son hit a laser double and told me he "didn't think he hit it that hard" based on how the bat felt at impact. It does the job and at 1/2 the price of many full composite bats. Will buy another when he outgrows it.

Cons: None.

Pros: Excellent bat. Bought this for my son when he was nine and was looking around for a new one and he said, I dont want a different bat, I love my bat. We agreed to get him the same bat in the larger size now that he is eleven. Since he started using it his batting has improved so much that his coach started calling him slugger.

Cons: the paint chipped off right away. Even while still new, it looked old.

Pros: Great looking bat with tons of pop and plenty of power to spare. My son is 11 and this is his first year in the majors. His first at bat was a monster homerun over the 200ft fence. In fact, it landed on the next diamond and almost hit the left fielder! Estimated distance...260ft! The 31/19 is perfect balanced and swings pretty fast. This is very important playing in a year round in Florida. The kids here can pitch in the 60's and even 70's. Very few hitters can get around using all those heavy end loaded bats. Another important point that I want to bring up, this bat weighs the actual 19 ounces! Unlike the CF5 (yes, we have one) and its weighs almost 2 1/2 ounces over its claimed weight. I highly recommend this bat. Great choice in any league and at any level.

Cons: None so far

DJ
how does this bat compare to the tpx omaha yb126 besides the extra ounce. Does it have more or less pop? ed
The YB126 is a one piece all alloy bat, and the YBXS is a two piece hybrid. Both are good bats, with great pop. If your son plays USSSA,these don't have the 1.15 BPF stamp that is required in 2012.
lkh
Do I have to worry about the composite handle breaking in cold weather? We play a late season fall ball league, and I was told composite bats can't be used in colder weather, and I wondered if the same held true to the half and halfs. nhroadrider
It's hard to say. It's always a possibility. Which is why they are covered by warranties.
mac
So, using a half and half in colder weather won't void the warranty on the composite handle? nhroadrider
No, using a half and half bat in cold weather will not void the warranty.
Sean
Are you folks positive this bat will be legal for 2012 Cal Ripken? There seems to be alot of disscusion on the legality of composite/aluminum bats. nhroadrider
At this point the Omaha XT stiff is legal for Cal Ripken, I would check with the league officials on the legality of the bat for next year.

The average length for that size would be a 29-30 inch bat.
KG
I purchased this bat for my son based on the posted responses indicating it was approved for Little League play. I am now seeing add'l reponses saying it is not. Which is true? Thanks. Scott
This bat will be approved for Little League play in 2012.
Tommy
In May 2011, you answer the question saying that this bat meets the BPF 1.15 standard. HOWEVER, you never answer the question as to whether or not this BPF 1.15 is listed on the actual bat. Is it? It MUST be there for our Little League. Skates
This bat does state BPF 1.15 on the barrel.
John
is this like the h2 or vertex? ballguy
Yes, these would be similar. All three will have alloy barrels and ocmposite handles.
John
According to USSSA rules for 2012 bats have to have a USSSA stamp on them for play--Does this bat have that? baseball mom
No. The bat doesn't have the USSSA stamp, but it has the BPF 1.15.
KB
Can this bat be purchased at 32 in. 20 oz ?? Coach Marion
This bat is on closeout and we only have the 31in/19oz in stock.
Kris
When will a 27" 14 oz. be n stock? Vic
We are no longer getting this bat in stock as it has been discontinued. Here is a link of the bats we have in that size. http://www.justbats.com/products/length~27%20inch/weight~14%20oz/baseball%20bats~youth/
Kris
What is the drawback of a hybrid versus a 100% composite bate? Wayne
There really isn't a drawback to either. It just depends on what you like hitting with. A 100% composite bat will require a break in, while a bat with a composite handle and an alloy barrel will not. The 100% composite bat will perform better over time after you break it in, and an alloy barrel bat will be hot right out of the wrapper.
Jennifer
Is this a 3 drop and can I just buy one? ma
This bat is not a drop 3. Only adult bats will be a -3, youth bats will not. The Omaha models that we have available in a -3 can be found here: http://www.justbats.com/products/length%20to%20weight%20ratio~-%203/?s=Omaha. These bats are sold individually, unless listed in a bat pack, so you are more than welcome to buy just one.

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
