Pros: I just bought this bat and I love it. It requires virtually no break in at all. I had two practices with it and I hit two triples, three singles, and one homer in my last tournament. It is very well balanced too.
Cons: My only con is that I wish the sweet spot was a little bigger.
Compton
Pros: My son hit it in the cage yesterday and it has great pop.
Cons: None.

Pros: its beast yo
Cons:
Big T
Pros: The power it gives your swing.
Cons: The sweet spot could be bigger.
Coach Mike
Pros: This bat reminds me of my old school Easton Black Magic! I bought it for my 9 year old and he is crushing the ball. We both love it! Two kids on my team also bought one. Can you say, Championship?
Cons: A little bat sting when you don't hit the sweet spot. When you do hit the sweet spot, it's worth every penny.
Grit
Pros: Bought for 13 year old. Instantly showing more pop in practice. Looks like it will translate to games.
Cons: None
Kevins
Pros: I took my 10 year old son to the field yesterday fro some BP and I could not believe how much further this bat took his hits. It was unbelievable!
Cons: Too pretty, you don't want it to get dirty.
Cam
Pros: The ball flies off the bat and feels so good when you hit it on the sweet spot.
Cons: It dented in the cages.

Pros: this bat has great pop and sound. i love the grip and the more yellow looks sweet.this model has even more pop than last years!! huge sweetspot
Cons: none
NorthernB
Pros: I'm not sure why some of these other reviews say the sweet spot is small. It is very large and the ball flies off the bat.

Pros: My 11yr old hit 8 home runs last year with the 2012 model. This years 2013 bat he has hit 14 homeruns which are also on the bigger fields. Bat is very well balanced and he seems to get great pop.
Cons: Just dented after 3 months. I usually carry 2 new bats in his bag as he breaks or dents bats each year. Expensive but you can't afford to not have your favorite bat in the middle of a tournament.
Jedi Principal
Pros: Awesome pop!
Cons: Bought it on a Tuesday, hit it first on a Wednesday in the cage and my 11 year old son put a dent in it after 50-60 balls. He only weighs around 80lbs, so he's no power hitter!
JaretG
Pros: Good pop!
Cons: Dents easily.
Slugger27
Pros: Amazing pop!! Great design worth the money!!! And us the best bat Easton had made so far!!
Cons: Nothing is bad about it!! It's straight up BEASTLY!!!!
Ethan
Pros: Good pop and balance - JustBats did nice job on the replacement.
Cons: Paint chipped in first game and dented in second. The coach said not to use it - returned for replacement. We will know more after this weekend.

Houston
Pros: My son moved from a 27" to a 28". My son is a very good contact hitter and this weekends games he had some good rips to the fence. He loves this bat and we have no complaints.
Cons: None.

Pros: when it's not dented, it's really good! Great pop and great balance and bat head control as a result. If you have one now, baby it and enjoy it while you can.
Cons: Horrible durability in any weather, but why would you make a bat that can't be used in weather under 60 degrees F? There have been denting issues since this bat was introduced and they have not fixed it. The question is not, "Will it dent?" but "When will it dent?". Answer: when it's very inconvenient to wait for a replacement. Easton customer service says that they see no record from production on any quality issues. Really? I find that hard to believe. Once it dents, Easton will take care of you but you may have to complain to a supervisor first. I noticed that they reduced the warranty period on newer models now. How about fixing the problem instead! My second replacement in 3 months is on the way. They upgraded me to the S1 since I told them I didn't want another one of these and they didn't have the S2 in my son's spec. Hopefully this on will be more durable.
dan
Pros: Good pop, nice looking bat. My son loves it, but it has been dented since early in the season.
Cons: My nine year old has destroyed the first one. We are in the process of returning it. It was dented BADLY on opposite sides and flat on the other two. He weighs 65 lbs. so there is no way he should do that kind of damage to an aluminum bat. An umpire finally threw it out of a game so it's time to send it back. It literally is square now, not round.

Pros: pop pop pop this has great pop
Cons: dents pretty easily

Cons: absolutely none
Great upgrade! Pat parent
Pros: My son is 7 year old, 4' 9" tall & 62 pounds, played in a house league this summer using an Easton Reflex. He made good contact and generated a lot of singles and doubles. He made the tournament team at the end of the season an I witnessed what the other teams did with the S3 against us. I bought a 29/19 2 weeks ago for him to work out with before trying out for the 8U competitive travel team this past weekend, he almost killed me with a line shot back to the pitchers mound. This bat has a lot of pop, he was pounding the ball all over an my son loves it! The coach just called to inform us he made the 2014 team and specifically commented on his solid hitting.
Cons: Even though it's 2 3/4 you still must hit it square, the sweet spot isn't as big as I thought it would be. If you're still working on good swing mechanics or lack sufficient strength I don't think I would start with this bat. Once you're there spend the money...
Appears to do the trick Jeff Hollifield parent
Pros: My 9 yo son just started playing in his first travel league so bought him this to give him a little more power. In our first outing with it let him swing his normal bat first, which he hits pretty well and gets great contact. The second he got this in his hands he was lining them out of the infield and he was getting around on it pretty good. It was cool to see his smiling face and now can't wait to see how he does in a game! Beautiful graphics!
Cons: Still sends some feedback/vibration back to his hands but could be result of his not hitting it squarely quite yet.
S3 11U Majors Short stop. player
Pros: Hot bat. Have owned Marucci Black, Cat5, TPX, COMbat B3, B4 etc. None have the pop of this bat. Hitting for power and average with this bat. 11 homeruns last spring and already sending them for the long ride this fall too. Incredible.
Cons: Same soft, springy, dynamics of this bat that give it incredible bounce also will dent and bend. It's worth it for the results. Buy the bat pack to always have a back up.
Dents very easily. Coach1976 coach
Pros: None
Cons: Bought 2 of these for my son and team. One Bat dented during the 2nd Game and the other bat dented the during the 5th game.
s3 easton -10 baseball player
Pros: A lot of pop, very durable, love the bat. I borrowed my friend's for practice and loved it, and now I am ordering one.
Cons: Stings at times.
Awesome bat James player
Pros: First time using it in a tournament: the count was full, next pitch was hit over the fence for a home run! Nice hit!
Cons: None.
S3 Steven Walker player
Pros: Very nice bat if your child is a lot smaller than other players, especially for fast lead off hitters like I am. Kind of grew into my XL1 now, but in Babe Ruth this was a good bat. Vibration wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Bat feels great after your first couple of swings.
Cons: Not a lot of pop, paint wears off a little easier than other bats. The barrel is a little small, more of a skinny fast bat.
Great battt!!!!!! Quintino42 parent
Pros: Best bat ever my son Angel who is 10 years old stand 5'7. With this bat can hit drive the ball 280ft without even trying
Cons: Bat is too pretyyy.

9U storm coach coach
Pros: no vibration, well balanced, very big sweet spot
Cons: colors
boss Luke player
Pros: huge barrel crushing the ball
Cons: none whatsoever
bad vibration anonimous player
Pros: it is a good contact bat
Cons: it has much vibration and since its aluminum it does not have much pop
Best Bat for Contact Hitters DC Baseball Dad parent
Pros: As an 11u, my son averaged over .600 once he switched to this bat. He is normally a contact hitter, but the S3 allowed him to hit many bombs. It is beautifully balanced, yet has a huge barrel. Now that he is a 13U, I wish Easton made the S3 in a -5.
Cons: None. Easton should make this bat in a -5.
Hot out the wrapper jupo parent
Pros: This bat has pop right off the rip. A very live bat and no dead sound to this bat when the ball is struck....my son has swung many bats but, the Easton has always been his favorite since he was 6. I suggest adding it to anyone's arsenal.
Cons: Are you kidding me?
I LOVE THIS BAT Tommy G. player
Pros: great sweet spot and gets good homers and line drive doubles singles and triples
Cons: nothing at all i love this bat to death.
best bat ever Lamorinda Knights #5 player
Pros: This bat has the best pop in the world. The looks are really cool too.
Cons: It dents so much. But even though it dents it doesn't do one little thing to the bat it just shows you hit the ball hard:)

Great bat Joshwww3 player
Pros: This bat gave me a ton of hits and some home runs. I loved it so much. I used it for 2 years and it worked great! I would definetly recommend this bat.
Cons: I don't have any
Easton got this one right GA Spartan parent
Pros: I bought my sons this model for Christmas 2013 - 29" for 11u and 28" for 8u. Both had a break-out year in their hitting. I keep watching for dents but no issues. My 8u son has cleared 200ft fences so he hits it hard. Between spring and summer games, cage time, and us just going to the park to hit some, he has at least 2000 hits on it and it still has the pop. I will purchase another if this one ever wears out.
Cons: none

My son plays 8U travel. He currently uses the Easton 2012 Easton S3 (-10) 28in. 18oz. He is a contact hitter, line drive singles and occasionally extra base hits to the gaps. He is ready for a new bat and I was wondering if the S1 model would be a noticeable upgrade or should I stick to the S3 model he currently uses. dan

My son is 12 years old. He is a contact hitter, usually singles and doubles. He is about 80 lbs and doesn't have the fastest swing speed. What would you recommend for him in bat type? Composite, combo or the one piece alloy? I think I have the size and weight down to 30" 20 oz, as I've seen too many kids strike out with bats that are too heavy. Jim
My son is using a rival xl11-9 30x21 with 2 3/4 barrel. He is a year older and was a great hitter with the rival. What new bat replaces it? We think the rival was the best bat ever and wish we could get that one again. frank
Hi, my son is 9 years old and is 4' and weighs about 80 lbs. He currently has an old Easton Surge and I'm looking at getting him a new bat. We prefer Easton and wanted to know which bat do you recommend: The SL13S110, the SL13S210 or the SL13S310B? Thanks for your help. MJ
Would this bat be good for coach pitch? ET
My son has used one of his teammates S1 and didn't get the same type of success that he has from his Rival. He has always had success with his Rival and the Black Lithium that sounds just like this bat. (He also liked the Orange Lithium from a few years back). I'm noticing a lot of comments in the reviews, stating that this bat has a "small sweet spot." Is there any reason behind this comment? I am looking at this bat vs. the 2013 Marucci MSBT10 and the Elite. I have noticed that bats that sound like this one he seems to respond to well. Any other you can recommend? Tampa Baseball
My son is currently using the 2013 DeMarini Vexxum 29" 19oz. and has had it for about a year now, it's been a really good bat and had lots of pop fresh out the wrapper even hit his first couple of HRs with it, but it seems to be just a good line drive bat with some pop at times. I still believe in the Vexxum but he's getting that new bat itch and i'm thinking about getting him the new 2013 Easton S3. He's about 5ft, 100lbs, he'll be 11 this summer, and has good bat speed and power, but thinking about moving up to the 30" 20oz. S3 what you do recommend? KP
Does the XL3 2 3/4 inch barrel come in a length longer than 28 inches. My son loves the bat but is about to turn 9 years old. Jarrod
I just purchased the 2013 Easton S3 SL13S310B in 30"/20oz. The bat hasn't arrived yet but the reviews of the 2012 S3 model are mostly positive. The cons were that the bat dented. Were there any material changes made to the bat from 2012 to 2013 to prevent dents? The 2012 is THT100 Aluminum and the 2013 says THT100 Scandium Alloy. Wondering if 2013 model is less likely to dent. Coach JG
My son currently has an S1 29" 19 oz. 2 5/8". He loves this bat. He can now use a 2 3/4" bat. Is the S3 comparable to the Easton S1? Also can the Easton S1 be used in cold temperatures? scott
