Description

Easton truly believes that every player should have the opportunity to hit for power. However, the road to power hitting is different for every player. Some players need extra bat speed to reach their full power potential, while others need more weight and a bigger barrel. That's why Easton is changing the game this season and taking an approach to bats that no other manufacturer has ever tried before. Introducing the POWER Brigade; Two series, one distinct result. Whether you prefer the fast swinging Speed Series or the heavier extended barrel XL Series, POWER will be your outcome. Forget flashy designs and gimmicky names, these bats produce RESULTS. The Speed Series (S1, S2, S3) features the lowest Moment of Inertia (M.O.I.) on the market to create light swing weights and generate more power. On the other side of the spectrum, the XL Series (XL1, XL2, XL3) features extra long barrels designed to give players expanded hitting zones and more mass in the barrel, generating more power in every swing. Easton really does strive to fulfill the preferences of any type of player as both series come in two-piece IMX Composite designs (S1 and XL1), two-piece IMX Composite/THT100 Aluminum hybrid designs (S2 and XL2), and one-piece THT100 Aluminum designs (S3 and XL3). As for the materials, Easton's patented IMX Composite has proven to be one of the highest performing materials in the game year after year, while THT100 Aluminum provides superior dent and crack resistance. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology and you have a new line of bats that is second to none. Easton: We Believe In Power! This bat is BBCOR Certified and approved for high school and collegiate play. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: This bat is by far the best BBCOR bat on the market! I will admit when the BESR certification was in state I was never a big composite fan. I usually prefered one piece alloys like the Easton Rival. However, when my highschool team was given an opportunity to sample the power brigade bats (Speed Series only), this one by far out preformed the rest. I have tried the 5150, Voodoo (11 and 12 model), Both Rip its, Omaha, Surge, and obviously the S2 and S3. I truly believe composite is the way to go. This bat is slightly end heavy but more balanced than other BBCOR bats. Lets face it there aren't any BBCOR bats as well balanced as the old BESR models because of the ways the bat companys have to deaden them. I told my dad this bat is the best by far and I am currently in the process of buying it. This bat is definately worth the extra $100.00 that you would spend. I hope this review was helpful I tried to cover all the main concerns that I know I take into account when I am purchasing a bat.

Cons: The cost is obviously a factor. However, if you can afford it I would reccomend it. Obviously the biggest con is its BBCOR and like all BBCOR you just miss your BESR bats. Still by far the best BBCOR I have tried and probably the best on the market.

Cons: Requires a little break in time ( 100 swings or so). EXPENSIVE

Pros: im 6'3 220 i would say i am some what or a "power hitter" the XL1 is way too top heavy and your can feel the deference in the S1. the S1 has perfect balance and is still slightly end loaded. I swing a 34inch i would suggest the S1 for both power and contact hitters.

Cons: the cost but almost every quality bat out this your going to get scammed by the price haha there's NO way that cost them any more then $50 to make

Pros: Best swing weight of all bats, very good pop.

Cons: Every bat cracks and breaks within three weeks. There are at least four of these bats broken on our team. The most recent looked like the inside exploded. Warranty department cannot replace the bat for 30 days, but i can go spend another $400 in any store that sells Easton and get another one. How can every store and rep in California have these bats in stock but warranty departmetn cannot get me a replacement. Very disappointed in Easton.

Pros: This bat is amazing! I've had it for a while now, and it's lasted and gone the distance. It has tremendous pop and is very well balanced. It reminds me a lot of the BESR bats, and is without a doubt the best BBCOR bat on the market. $400 can be pretty pricy, but I feel like it's worth every cent. And everyone saying it snaps easily, it won't snap if you hit it where you should...

Cons: High priced @ $400

Freshman Son

Pros: Great Contact Bat.

Cons: After 5 months the bat cracked in tight circle around the circumfrance of the bat near the sweet spot. It looks like it cracked around the band which is now noticeable. This is from half a season of use by a 115 lb freshman in high school. We will see how Easton warranties the bat. I believe it is a design flaw from the band they used to deaden the bat given where the crack is and how pronounced the band apears throught the bat wall. If Easton correct the issue (design) this would be an excellent bat.

Pros: This bat is by far the best big barrel I have had. I just moved to the bigger field this year and my dad wanted to find me the right bat to use for the change. We tested a bunch of different bats including the rip it, but all of them were to end heavy for me. We eventually got to this bat and I am glad we did. It is well balanced and the composite makes the ball fly.

Cons: It is a little pricey but I believe it is well worth your money.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB11S1? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Between this bat Marruci black, and the Easton omen which bat is better as far as weight balance Gman
I lean toward this one, the S1 on balance.
Linda
Is this a regular flex handle? I want this bat but I prefer a stiff flex handle j123
This has a stiff flex and is similar to the Omen.
KG
Can power Hitters swing this bat? Can power hitters hit just as far with the s1 compared to the xl1? j123
Yes. Power hitters can use this bat. Easton created two different designs to accommodate different types of hitters. The XL series was designed for power hitters who like more of an end-loaded feel, while the Speed series is created for your contact hitters who want faster swing speeds. It's up to the player on which bat is good for them.
KG
If I am a more of a power hitter than a contact hitter but I like to have a balanced bat, what bat should I choose the xl1 or the s1. Swb12
If you are looking for a balanced bat the S1 would be the better option. The XL1 will have a slightly larger barrel but will have a slight end loaded feel to it.
John
What is the difference between the S1 and the S2 Power Brigade Series? YoImArabian
The S1 is an all composite bat and the S2 is a half and half. The S2 has a composite handle and an alloy barrel.
KG
What is the difference between the S1, S2, and S3? Also, why does the value change between each one? Torro
The S1 is a one piece composite bat. The S2 is a half and half bat. The S3 is an aluminum bat.
Todd
How Big does the barrel size of the s1 compare to the barrel size of the easton stealth speed? Ive heard the barrel is tiny on the s1 J123
Both are going to be about the same size barrel.
K.B.
How does this bat compare to the rip it prototype 2? Which one is better and what are each bats Pros and Cons? J123
The S1 is all composite and the Prototype 2 is all alloy. Composite bats tend to have more pop to them than all alloy bats. If you are a power hitter then the prototype would be a better choice because it is stiffer than the S1.
K.B.
Is there any difference between pop between the s1 and xl1 if you could swing them the same? J123
The Easton XL series is going to be more for power hitters and the Easton S series is going to be more for contact hitters.
Todd
Does this bat have more pop than the omen because the omen wasnt very good in my opinion J123
The S1 is going to perform similar to the Omen. The biggest difference is the S1 is going to be a little lighter than the Omen.
K.B.
How big in length is the barrel on this bat? Electric31
Barrel length isn't a key selling point with baseball bats and the manufacturer's do not obtain this data. I went out to our warehouse and obtained an approximate barrel length of 8 to 8.5 inches.
John
Does this need to be broken in? if so how long will it take? wine3
Yes, this bat will have a break in period. We recommend around 150-200 swings either using it while doing soft toss or tee work. After every 10-15 swings rotate the barrel about a 1/4" so you break in all the composite fibers throughout the bat.
John
Yes. A break in of 100-200 hits off a tee or soft toss will get this bat broken in.
KG
which bat is better for power. the easton s1, marucci black, or rip it prototype 2? j123
Power hitters generally prefer 1 piece bats. So that said, I would lean toward the PrototypeII.
Linda
marucci black, cf5, rip it (red one) and this bat, which one would you recommend. i used eastons all through little league and loved them but then i switched to demarini and loved them. i had the voodoo and best bat ive ever had but the new bbcor voodoos look like pop. i really do not like end loaded bats and i keep finding that problem with bbcors. i like prefer the two piece or full composite please help becasue i need a new bat really soon for high school. anything helps. thx again t24
The new CF5 has a nice balance to them. 2 piece all composite.
Linda
is this bat as stiff as the easton xl1? j123
Yes these two bats are definitely comparable in stiffness.
Shelbe
does this bat hit like a one piece like the easton xl1? j123
This bat is going to have a little more flex than the XL1
Sean
What is the closest bbcor bat to this without the 400 dollar price? doesnt need to be composite joey joe joe
The S1 is a 2 piece all composite. If you are open to non composites, there are several...DeMarini Voodoo Black BBCOR: DXVDC Adult is $219.99 composite handle/alloy barrel. Easton Surge BBCOR: BGS2 Adult same thing, composite handle/alloy barrel. If you would like to talk to a rep that could get more info to help you...just give us a call. 866-321-2287
Linda
Is this bat basically the exact same as the omen pbgthunder12
It is going to be similar, the S1 has a lower MOI and a slightly shorter barrel
Sean
Is this bat basically like the old Easton Stealth Comp? BAll
Yes, this bat is going to be very comparable to the easton stealth
Sean
What is the expected power from the S1 vs the S2 vs the S3? My son is a 6'1" 205 lb 16/17 year old who has hit with power using a DeMarini Vendetta as well as his old Easton Hammer after the Vendetta broke in half. Would he be missing on the power front by going with the S2? JoeZepUp
The power on a bat really depends on the player. The S1 is going to have the most pop. The S2 also has quite a bit of pop
Sean
if my son decides he wants to go back to the 32/29 and send back the 33/30; how do you handle this? AP
If the bat hasn't been used, simply use the return label we provided in the box and add a copy of the receipt telling us what size you want to replace it with.
Linda
What's the difference between this bat and the Easton XL 1? K_man
The XL1 will have a more endloaded feel. The S1 will have a lower MOI and is evenly balanced.
TJ
would you advise using this bat for batting practice every day between games? Or would you use it just for games after the break in period? mark
Personally, I always recommend a different bat for practice to save the wear on your good bat.
Linda
Which easton bat is the best like ya it might be about preference but which has the most pop out of all of the eastons? Austin
The S1 and the XL1 bats will be the better bats within Eastons line of bats. They have composite barrels and will have better pop.
KG
How big are the sweet spots in the xl1 and the s1? Will the xl1 have more pop than the s1? Swb12
The sweet spots will be very similar. The difference between these bats is that the XL1 has more of an end loaded feel whereas the S1 is more of a balanced bat.
KG
Does this bat have approval for USSSA? joel
No, Adult bats will not be stamped USSSA, they will only have the BBCOR stamp on them
Sean
Is this bat top heavy and can you swing this bat quickly? chops
This is a very baalnced bat
John
will this bat always be legal coolman
At this time the S1 is legal for all leagues
Sean
i am 5'4 125lbs with very fast bat speed i have the 33in omen should i get the s1 or xl1 clemson4life
It is really a personal preference, if you are looking to get more pop off of the bat I would look at going with the XL1
John
Would you recommend this over the Omen? (not going by price.) Does the all composite create a very noticable difference in pop instead of the half and half? NIckAir
The S1 replaced the Omen, so they are going be constructed and perform the same. The S1 is a little lighter and balanced than the Omen. Balls tend to bounce off the composite barrels more than half and half bats because the composite material is similar to a trampoline.
KB
Is it OK to hit from a machine to break in or do you recommend soft toss and tee work for the break in period? mt-dew
To break in a composite bat you should use soft toss or a tee. It usually takes about 100-200 swings. Rotate the barrel about 1/4 inch each swing. Make sure not to use a composite bat in a batting cage that uses yellow dimpled balls.
Kara
I never recommend hitting in a cage unless they use real baseballs. The dimpled or compressed rubber balls are horrible on composite bats. Soft toss or tee would be the easiest on your bat. With the S1 there is very little break in required.
Linda
I heard the more the bat is used the better it is. Is this true? Deana
Yes. This bat has a composite barrel and the more it is used the more pop the bat will have.
KG
What is the difference in the S1, XL1, and the Easton Omen? BigSlamin
The Omen is the 2011 model. The S1 is going to be a well balanced version of the Omen with a lighter swing weight. The XL1 is going to be a more endloaded vesion of the Omen which is going to be more designed for power hitters.
John
Does this bat feel really flex and spongey or more stiff like an exogrid? Mr. Cool
This bat will have a little bit more of a flex to it than the EXOGRID will.
John
Do the S1 and XL1 feel the same when you make contact with the ball? bigmike
On contact they will feel similar because they are the same material. But XL1 has more of an end weighted feel, the S1 is more balanced.
Shelbe
Which bat is overall better the s1 or the xl1 Breda
They have the same composition design, but differ is swing weight. The XL will swing heavier, the speed series will is more balanced for better control.
Shelbe
It says the xl1 is for more power hitters does that mean it is just heavier or have more pop than the s1? Jake
They are manufactured the same material and the same general design, but the barrel will be extended with the weight more distributed towards the end. So if a hitter can still generate good bat speed with the Xl, theoretically it will put more velocity on balls batted.
Shelbe
would the XL1 or the S1 be most identical to the performance and feel of the old easton stealth and sv12? JoeyPap
The XL1 is going to feel the most like the old Easton Stealth Speed.
Kara
If I am 5'3", 120 lbs and a medium power hitter which one of these Easton bats would be good for me? Cam
One piece bats like the S3 are best suited for a power hitter.
Kara
What is the difference between the Easton Power Brigade S1 and the S2? I'm playing high school ball at a Jv level. I'm 5'10", 135 lbs. Ive used it before and I was just wondering if there's a better bat for me. Conner
The S1 is a two piece all composite bat. The S2 is a two piece bat with an alloy barrel and composite handle.
Kara
Can you tell me more about how the handle is connected to the barrel with the S1 and XL1? Is this technology new? Reliable? I feel a little play in the connection when I hold/move the bat. Thanks! Hyb's
Easton S1 BBCOR two-piece has the patented two-piece technology for optimized feel at impact while maximizing energy transfer. If you do feel that the Easton S1 is separating you do have a twelve month manufacturer warranty were Easton will send you another bat.
Brad
What is the difference between the Easton Omen and the S1? Gillky
The Easton S1 is the model that replaced the Omen. Both bats are going to be very similar and perform just about the same. The S1 is a newer bat that is going to be a little more durable and a little more balanced, but other than that everything is very similar.
Jennifer
I am a contact hitter 6'1 150lbs. and I am playing adult league. I have medium bat speed, would the S1 or the S2 be better for me, or is there a bat that is more suited for this style? Matt
Both the Easton S1 and S2 are great choices for a contact hitter since they are both two piece bats. The main difference between the two is the barrel material. The S1 has a composite barrel and the S2 has an alloy barrel. It basically comes down to what kind of barrel you prefer.
Jennifer
I'm a power hitter 6'4, 250 and I'm playing in high school. The price is not a issue. Is this a good fit for me? Ian
Many power hitters prefer the XL1 over the S1 as it is a little more endloaded and ofter benefits stronger hitters. The S1 will still work for you though.
Tyler
I understand there is a difference in the barrell material used in the S1 and S2 (S1 is composite and S2 alloy) but how does that translate into the performance of the bat. What difference can I expect to see. I'm 16yrs, 5'-8", 125 lbs playing jv baseball. Kyle
The main difference in the materials, is the amount of "pop" off of each bat. The composite material creates a trampoline effect when hitting the ball that can cause it to pop a little more than the alloy bats. The composite material will also require a break in and will perform the best over time, while the alloy bat will be hot out of the wrapper and not require a break in.
Jennifer
MY SON IS 5'7" AND 135 LB (14YRS); WE PLANNING PURCHASE THE NEW (2012 EASTON BRIGADE S1)WHICH SIZE WILL BE BETTER 31"28 OZ OR 32"29OZ. THX IN ADVANCE. KID
Based on his height and weight, I would suggest going with a 31" 28oz bat. If you need any further assistance in selecting the right size for your son, feel free to use our bat coach feature located at the top of the webpage or give us a call at 1-866-321-2287.
Jennifer
When watching college games, I notice that 99% of Eastons teams including some of the power hitters are using the S series, does this series out perform the XL? Nick
The S series is designed for a lighter swing weight giving the player more bat speed for added power. The XL series bats have a extended barrel, more end loaded feel generating more power. Choosing between the two will be based on what feels comfortable to you. One series does not out preform the other.
Kris
Does this bat come in an all black color? I saw one over the weekend with incredible pop. Ball was jumping off the bat from a little guy. I really thought the bat was loaded. It was the S1. coach
The BB11S1 comes as pictured with a black barrel, yellow and black lettering, black handle (with a section of yellow grip near the knob).
Tyler
Is this bat really worth $200 more instead of the S3? Big Down Low
The Easton S1 is a two piece composite bat, whereas the S3 is a one piece alloy bat. Composite bats tend to have more pop due to the trampoline effect the material creates, but are more expensive and require a longer process to make, thus making the price higher. With the S3 being an alloy bat, it is still very durable and has great pop, but alloy bats go through an easier process in order to be made and the alloy materials are more affordable.
Jennifer
what kind of hitter is the s1 best for brenden
The S1 is tailored more for the base or line drive hitter. The technology put into this bat is specifically designed to transition swing speed into power for more distance on your hits. Here is the link to view more information on the S1. http://www.justbats.com/product/easton-s1-bbcor--bb11s1-adult/14439/
Derek
I am a decent hitter, weigh 110 lbs. and 5 feet tall and 5 inches. What is the best size I should buy, meaning the S1? hitta'
Based on your height and weight, I would suggest going with a 29 inch bat. If you need further assistance in trying to find the right bat size for you, feel free to use our bat coach feature located at the top of the webpage. This will be a great tool in helping to find the right size for you, or give us a call at 1-866-321-2287!
Jennifer
Will it come in different colors next year? John
As of 3/21/2012, we have not received any information from Easton about next year's line of bats.
Tyler
My son wants one would it work for him hes in juniors? Bobby
This bat would definitely work for your son. The rules for the Junior League Division state, "Composite-barreled baseball bats in this division, regardless of barrel size, must meet BBCOR standards, and must be so labeled". This bat meets those standards and is labeled as such.
Jennifer
Which bat has the most balanced and quickest swing out of The BB11S1, The BB11X1, or The DXCFC? Cabby Fan 24
The BB11S1 will be the most evenly balanced and will help to provide the lightest swing speed. The DXCFC would be just behind, followed by the BB11X1 which will have a slightly end-loaded feel.
Tyler
Is it better to order a size up ? Ive heard the bat feels lighter. And is it worth the money? Daniel
I recommend ordering the S1 in the same size you normally use. It is designed with a little lighter swing weight to help players who are looking to increase their swing speed. If you get a heavier size than normal, it may negate the benefits of the light swing weight design. In my opinion, the S1 is a great bat and definitely worth the money.
Tyler
What is the difference between the XL1 and the S1? andy
The Easton S1 BBCOR is a balanced bat. The Easton XL1 BBCOR is end loaded.
Kara
Will the price ever go down? andy
The Easton S1 BBCOR price is set by the manufacture. Normally, new bats will not go down in price until a new model is released.
Kara
I am a contact hitter, would you recommend this bat or the s3? jake
The Easton S1 and the S3 will have very similar swing weights both suitable for contact hitters. Either bat would be a great pick!
Shelbe
Is this bat fully composite, or is it half and half? rc
The Easton S1 BBCOR is a two piece all composite bat.
Kara
My son is 5'3" 100lbs and leads off for his team since he is more of a contact hitter. Currently he uses the Baum 32/29 bat, but I want him to also have a composite bat. S1? Jacob's Dad
The Easton S1 is definitely a great bat. This bat is very well balanced and is a two-piece design like most contact hitters prefer. It would be a great bat to get your son!
Jennifer
hey i am 5'11 and weigh 170 and ive been a power hitter my whole life is the S series still a good fit for me? and should i get 33 inch or 32 inch Jake
Based on your height and weight, the common bat length used in your size range is going to be a 33" bat
Sean
Which bat has the quickest, most balanced, and lightest swing out of the Easton S1 BBCOR, the Easton XL1 BBCOR, or the 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR? Tiger Fan
The Easton S1 BBCOR: BB11S1 Adult will provide the lightest swing weight.
Zach
my son is 5ft-4in would this bat be good foor him. slugger
Yes the Easton S1 BBCOR is a good bat for your son. The S1 is very balanced in feel to increase bat speed for players.
Sean
What bat is better for hitting off of high speed pitchers the S1 or the XL1? that guy
Both bats are great options. The BB11S1 is going to be more of a balanced bat to give the player a quicker swing. The XL1 is going to be more of an end loaded bat to give the player a little more pop off of the bat.
Sean
Hello. My question is I am wondering if the S1 is better then the 2013 Voodoo or better than the Rawlings Velvo 5150? k-mac21
All three are great bats, but each are designed differently. The Easton S1 BBCOR will provide the most flex. The 2013 Voodoo BBCOR will have an end loaded feel. The Rawlings Velo will be the stiffest, better for a power hitter.
Kara
I am 5'8 170 and hitting 5th on my team. I can hit the ball far and for contact. I am batting over .620 on my team. Which bat is better for me to get XL1 or S1? Zack
Both the XL1 and the S1 would be great bats to consider. The main difference between these two bats is the XL1 has an end loaded feel to it, while the S1 is a very balanced bat. If you are not used to an end loaded bat, then I would probably go with the S1.
Jennifer
my son is 13 years old playing in juniors, i want to get him this bat but its expensive, i wanted to know how long it will last him? i was hoping he could also use it in highschool. andy
This is a great bat that if taken care of properly should last several years for him.
Ryan
This bat doesn't have that nice "ping" as the S2, or S3, Why is that? It feels wrong. EASTONFAN
The Easton S1 has a composite barrel and will not make the same "ping" sounds as aluminum barrel bats. It will make more of a "thud" or "crack" type of sound. Only aluminum barrel bats will make that traditional "ping" sound.
Jennifer
What is the difference between the S1, S2 and S3 bats, besides the cost? steve
The Easton S1 BBCOR is a two-piece all composite bat. The Easton S2 BBCOR is a two-piece bat with an alloy barrel and a composite handle. The Easton S3 BBCOR is a one piece all alloy bat.
Kara
I am 12 years old and want this bat or the XL1. I'm not sure which one to get considering I am about 5 ft. 4". Sparky44
The Easton XL 1 BBCOR is better suited for a power hitter since the bat is end loaded. For a younger player, a balanced two-piece bat like the Easton S1 BBCOR would be a better choice.
Kara
Will the Easton S1 BBCOR have more pop than the 2013 CF5 BBCOR? zack
They both will be very comparable with each other, they are both top of the line for each manufacture.
Ryan
between the s1 and the new cf5 which one will have more trampoline effect and flex? ch121
Both the Easton S1 and The DeMarini CF5, Will have very similar Pop and flex. Neither one will consistently out perform the other.
Ryan
I am 17 about 5'5 and I'm pretty stocky. I can hit homeruns with regular BBCOR bats but I mostly rip line drives. I was going to get the XL1 but my dad said I should get the S1. Which one is better? Thanks! WalkerJordan
There really isn't one bat that is better than the other between the XL1 and the S1. Both bats are very similar and the main difference between the two is the XL1 has an end loaded feel to it while the S1 is very balanced. The XL series is more designed for power hitters, while the S series is more geared towards contact hitters.
Jennifer
Is there a difference between this and the omen besides the paint job and graphics? mike
Yes, the Easton S1 BBCOR: BB11S1 Adult will be slightly more balanced than the Easton Omen.
Zach
Will this bat be banned for the upcomming season? MM
We do not have a way to predict if the Easton S1 BBCOR will be banned. As of now, the Easton S1 BBCOR will be legal.
Kara
What would be the advantage of buying the Easton S1 instead of the S2 or S3? Johner
The Easton S1 is a top of the line two-piece fully composite bat. The Easton S2 is a two-piece hybrid design (composite handle/aluminum barrel). The Easton S3 is a one-piece fully aluminum design. Here is a link to compare all three further. http://www.justbats.com/compare/
Tom
This bat is balanced rather than end loaded. How much does it take away in ability to hit the long ball? My son likes the balanced bats but has some power. Can this bat give him enough pop hit it out? Anthony G
The S1 is a balanced bat and but will not take away from his ability to the long ball. The composite barrel helps to optimize the sweet spot for maximum performance.
Damon
When will Easton release their new line of BBCOR bats? RK7
Easton is expected to release their new line of bats in the fall of 2012.
Kara
If I'm used to swinging a 33" bat would it be good to move down to a 32" bat to swing? mo
If you are used to swinging a 33 in. bat then I would stick with a 33 in. Generally, you do not want to move down in size.
Nick K.
I am 5 foot and 3 inches and 100 lbs and im going to be in highschool next year should i go with the s1 or the xl1? Tommy
That comes down to your strength and swing speed. If you have above average strength and swing speed, I would recommend the XL1. If you have average or below average strength and swing speed, I would recommend the S1.
Tyler
Hi! I have been doing my research, and I was wondering why the prices of the new Easton Power Brigade bats are different? Is it because of the composite? charlie
Composite material is more expensive to manufacture, and therefore is more expensive.
Kara
I could buy this bat for like 250 but I have the chance to buy the Omen for 100. Is the extra 150 worth it? How are they different from each other? Eagles2016
The Easton S1 BBCOR has the same bat features as the Easton Omen BBCOR. The S1 replaced the Omen. The S1 uses an upgraded material the increases durability and performance.
Nick K.
I am a power Hitter and I can hit very hard. I am having a problem with choosing a bat for me. Is the s1 for contact hitters or power hitters? Nate dog
The Easton S1 is going to be a very well balanced model which generally which is preferred by contact hitters. The Easton XL1 is going to be more designed for the big power hitters. The Easton XL1 will have a little larger sweet spot compared to the Easton S1. Since the Easton XL1 does have a larger sweet spot it will have more of an end loaded feel to the bat.
John
I currently own an Easton Omen and it is broke in the handle. I love the bat but am wondering if I should send it back and get the S1 or just buy a new Omen? powerbaseball24
The Easton S1 BBCOR replaced the Easton Omen BBCOR and will be basically the same bat as far as construction. However, the Easton Omen BBCOR is slightly end loaded. The Easton Omen BBCOR is a discontinued model and if it is sent to the manufacture, will most likely be replaced by the Easton S1 BBCOR.
Kara
Hi, I am 13 years old and this is my first year playing on the big field. As of right now, I have been having a little problem with getting my hands through the strike zone quick enough that it has been causing me to pop the ball up on the right side of the field.. Would this bat make it easier to get your hands through the strike zone quick enough to really drive the ball? Ryan
The Easton S1 has a light swing weight and is a great option for a player looking to improve their swing speed.
Tyler
Hi I'm 12 years old and looking for a big barel for next year on the big field. I'm 210 and 5'6, I don't know which is better a XL1 or a S1. What do you think Daboss1214
That comes down to your strength and swing speed. If you have average or below average swing speed, The S1 would be recommended. If you are a stronger hitter with above average swing speed, the XL1 would be recommended.
Tyler
Which S Series bat or XL Series bat is most like the TPX EXOGRID2 and which one is right for hitting mid outfield shots? joel
The Easton S3 is going to be most similar to the Louisville Slugger TPX EXOGRID2. Both are very high performing.
Nick K.
I am mix of a contact and power hitter and usually hit third in the lineup. Which Easton Power Brigade would be best for me? peter
The Easton S1 BBCOR: BB11S1 would be a solid option for a versatile hitter such as yourself. It is a two-piece composite bat that will provide a great pop and durability. It also has a balanced swing weight for more bat control.
Nick D
i just started baseball im 13 and i want a bbcor bat thats light. 5' but im wondering if they make like 23 oz bbcor bats? rem
The Easton S1 has a light swing weight and would be a great bat for you. The smallest size you'll find a BBCOR bat in is 29" 26 oz.
Tyler
What is the main difference between the S1, and the Omen? You describe it as that they are the same exact bat but with a different paint job. Thanks. Mr. Easton
The difference between the Easton Omen BBCOR and the Easton S1 BBCOR is the Easton Omen is end loaded. The Easton S1 is balanced. The Easton XL1 BBCOR will feel more similar to the Easton Omen.
Kara
IM A 13 YEAR OLD GOING TO PLAY MIDDEL SCHOOL BASEBALL I AM HITTING 3RD BUT HAVING A LITTLE TROUBLE GETTING MY BAT AROUND AND WAS WONDERING DO I GET THE S1 OR S2? BMAN33
Both the Easton S1 and the Easton S2 have great balanced weight distribution which will increase your bat speed. The Easton S1 is a two-piece fully composite bat and the Easton S2 is a two-piece hybrid (composite handle/aluminum barrel).
Tom
What is a better bat? Voodoo 2013 or Easton S1? 24
Both the Easton S1 and the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR are excellent bats, but designed differently. The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo has an alloy barrel and composite handle. It is slightly end loaded, better for a hitter with some power. The Easton S1 is a two-piece composite bat and is very balanced.
Kara
I am 5' 6" inches and 120 lbs and I am going to be a freshman in highschool. Right now I am playing tournament ball for my under 14 year old travel team. I am usuing a 32" 22 oz. Easton S2 and I am hitting great with it. I am a little concerned that next year I will have trouble getting a 29 oz. bat through the zone. Do you suggest dropping town to a 31" bat or staying with the 32"? waynesboroindians!!
I would hesitate dropping down to a 31" bat and you can always choke up. If you are sticking with the Easton S series it is a very balanced bat, so while it is a big jump in weight the balance of the bat will help.
Damon
I'm 5'6" and 120 lbs and I'm a leadoff hitter. Between the Xl series and the speed series, which bat would i be better off with? BaseballKid1227
That all depends on your strength and bat speed. If you have well above average strength and bat speed, I would recommend the XL Series. If you have average to slightly above average strength and swing speed, I would recommend the S Series.
Tyler
What is the best bat in the speed series? Cayce
That is a hard question because they are all great bats, it just depends on what type of hitter you are buying for, the S3 will be the most balanced of the S1, S2, or the S3. For additional information feel free to contact our customer service at 1-866-321-2287.
Shelbe
Hi, I am starting high school ball and was looking at the Power Brigade S1 series 33". I am 5'9" 160lbs with bat speed and power! Is S1 the right bat or would you suggest XL series? Thank you! Big E
The Easton XL1 BBCOR is end loaded, perfect for a player who has great bat speed and power. The Easton S1 BBCOR is best for a player who needs to increase their bat speed.
Kara
Do you expect the price of this bat to drop like the BBCOR Omen did. If so, when do you expect the price drop and when did the Easton Omen BBCOR's price drop from $400? Mr. Doubles
The price of the S1 will come down once Easton releases their new line around October or November. I do not have information as to when the Omen originally dropped in price.
Tyler
I have read some reviews that this bat has broken after a short amount of time. I am a little wary of buying this bat because of this. Has this problem been fixed? Brent
Based on the number of Easton S1 bats sold, versus the number of reports of damaged bats, it actually has slightly above average durability. This can happen from time to time with any bat (nature of the beast when it comes to baseball). Easton realizes this, and the cover the S1 with a full 12 month warranty.
Tyler
Would this be a good bat for small people with a fast bat speed? Lilman23
The BB11S1 would be great for a hitter who may have a small stature but good bat speed. The Easton Speed Series is perfect for contact hitters who are looking for bat control.
Shelbe

Tyler
My son is 12 yrs, 5'5 and 150lbs. He has a long-slow swing but with power. He is moving to Junior ball and requires a BBCOR bat. What do you recomend, the Easton S1 or XL1? Kholas
The Easton S1 will help will bat speed because it is the more balanced of the two models. The Easton XL1 has a longer barrel and is more end loaded for a power hitter. Given he has a long slow swing I would go with the S1 to increase bat speed.
Damon
I am 5"'6" 150 and 14 years old with average swing. Do you think a XL1 Easton would be a good fit for me? jax
The Easton XL1 is an end loaded bat, better suited for a player with power and quick bat speed. We recommend the Easton S1 for a player with average swing speed.
Kara
I read complaits about the s1 bbcor breaking a lot, is this still a issue. please respond. matt
Based on the number of units sold, the Easton S1 actually has well above average durability.

Based on your height and weight, a 30" bat is recommended.
Tyler
Which bat would you recommend for me? I'm 5'5, and I weigh 120 lbs. Jackson
I would Recommend Trying this Easton S1 in a 32" 29oz. You could also try a Demarini CF5 in the same size.
Noah
After seeing the new s1, I noticed that there is very little change in the outside from the new one to this one. What's different between the 2013 and the 2012 besides the paint job? Nick
Generally from year to year the paint scheme is going to be the only major difference to the make-up of the bat. Although, the manufacturers do work on the durability and pop as well. here is the link to view more details on the S1. http://www.justbats.com/product/easton-s1-bbcor--bb11s1-adult/14439/?pa_source=justbats&pa_campaign=was&pa_medium=badges&pa_content=easton-s1-bbcor--bb11s1-adult
