Pros: I bought this bat for my son (13U). Not only does my son use this bat but the entire team is now using this bat. The first few hits my son hit line drives to the fence, and got triples on both. Second game with the bat he crushed one out of the park Super Pop, Huge sweet spot, Excellent grip!

Cons: Slighty top heavy, but this causes no issues.

Pros: Mad Pop - Turned into a team favorite. Some nicknamed it the "Rifle". I'm a bat nut - and this is the real deal. The 2 3/4 model is beast too!

Cons: Honestly - none

Batty67

Pros: Stiff, durable (so far), well-made, and great "pop." Very nice bat all-in-all.

Cons: Grip tape should come up another 1" (small issue, but might bother some). A bit end-loaded and combined with skinny grip, seems to tailored for power hitters.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton Rival XXL Senior League Baseball Bat: BD12XL? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

is this bat little league approved tlopez
If you are able to use 2 5/8 inch barrel bats then this bat is legal. Little League allows all aluminum bats, so this bat should be legal. This bat does not have the 1.15 BPF stamp and the USSSA stamp on the barrel. You will need to find out if your league requires those stamps on the bat.
Brett
Does the 2 5/8" 30-25 have as much pop as the 2 3/4" 30-25? My youngest son has a 2 5/8" 28-18 and it seems to have more pop than the 2 3/4" does. Thanks for your response. Baseball Dad
Both of these bats are going to have the same amount of pop. The only difference between the two bats is going to be the size of the barrel.
Brett
In 2012, In USSSA travel ball, will this bat be approved? baseball man
Yes. This bat has the new USSSA stamp. There is also an image of this bat showing the stamp on our website.
Brett
Looks like in one answer you said it does not have the stamp and in another you said it does, which is it? Wild Bill
This bat DOES have the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp on it, you can see it in the close up pictures of the bat. I think there was some confusion on which league they were asking about.
lkh
is this bat legal for high school baseball David
No, it is not legal for high school play. Bats used by high school and collegiate players are required to be BBCOR certified and have a -3 length to weight ratio.
lkh
Will it be a big change going from -11 to -5? tdogsalad
Yes. A big jump in size is going to make a huge difference. I would recommend a -10 or -9 before jumping to a -5.
Kara
Does this bat have a recommended break in period? Viking
No, this bat is going to be hot right out of the wrapper
Sean
Referring to the question about the pop of the 2 5/8" barrel vs. the 2 3/4" barrel where it is stated by Brett that the two bats will have "the same amount of pop"- why make two size barrels if they are essentially the same? sportsfan
The reason behind two different size barrels is that there are a lot of leagues throughout the country that do not allow 2 3/4" barrels and players have to use a 2 5/8" barrel. Different sizes are made to accommodate players in different leagues with different rules.
TJ

This is a very well balanced bat will not have an end loaded feel.
KG
what is the difference between the rival -5, omen -5 and the xl3-5 jim
The Rival will have a balanced weight and will be an all alloy bat. The Omen is an all composite barrel bat that will be good pop. The XL3 has a slight end-loaded feel and will be an all alloy bat similar to the Rival.
KG

Shelbe
Would this bat in a 32 be good for a 13 year old that ways 105 and plays in Pony league? He is all about bat speed? Would it slow him down? Conner
Yes, this bat would be fine. It all depends on his strength and if he could still maintain a level swing while still generating bat speed.
John
is the easton reflex composite or alluminum? brownie5510
The Easton reflex is a one piece alloy.
John
is the rival and the reflex both alluminum? if im 13 and weigh 115 and 5ft8 and i get a drop5 in the rival 32inches will that slow down my swing? baseball freak55
Both the Rival and the Reflex are one-piece aluminum alloy bats. A -5, 32" will weigh 27oz. If you are comfortable moving up to that weight then I recommend that size.
Ryan
is the handle composite cause know they made a new rule that even the handle isn't aloud to be composite it has 2 be all aluminum if it isn't a drop 3 or bbcor baseball 4 life
This model is a one piece all alloy and will not feature any composite materials on the bat.
