Pros:  Ran to the local big box superstore to grab any 31" I could find to take to the cages - Kid was in a slump and we had one day off with no games or practice. Didn't want to take any of his "good" bats. This did fine and I don't really care if he dents it. Completely worth $30 in my opinion. It's way too light for him but I made some video and he said he can see now that he was pulling his hands. Best $ I have spent this season.

I'm looking for a bat for my 9 year old. He is 53" and about 65 lbs. I think he used a 28" 15 oz. bat last season doing machine pitch and was ahead on everything. After the season he borrowed a longer, heavier bat from a friend and was crushing the ball at the batting cage. I don't want to spend more than $50. Any suggestions?

A 29" 19 oz. 2013 Easton Magnum: YB13MG Youth bat would definitely match what you are looking for. You could even up it to a 30" bat if you wanted to give him something to grow into.

The 2013 Easton Magnum: YB13MG Youth model would be best for 7-12 year olds. I would suggest looking at Youth Big Barrel Bats.

What length/weight is best foe a lightweight 5 year old who played T ball with some coach pitching?

That depends on the weight of his last bat. I wouldn't recommend anything more than 2 or 3 ounces heavier than the last bat he used.

When fielders see you out there with your Easton bat, they'll know they better take a step back. The Easton Magnum is back and ready to help younger players fire shots to all corners of the field! The Magnum is know for being the most inexpensive youth bat on the market, but that doesn't mean that it lacks in performance or durability. Featuring a one-piece alloy design, the Magnum will provide that signature "ping" when good contact is made. Easton has also brought their massive sweet spot technology to the Magnum to help players get more out of every hit. The Magnum has an ultra-thin 29/32" handle that is wrapped with a cushioned grip to give players outstanding comfort and control at the plate.
