We actually do not recommend using any bat at temperatures below 55 degrees. When the temperature sinks below 55 degrees, the ball becomes denser and has the ability to damage the barrel walls of the bat. If a player is participating in a practice that is being held in conditions with a temperature below 55 degrees, we would recommend using an older model of bat that will no longer be used for games or even a wooden bat. If a game is being held in conditions below 55 degrees, we would recommend taking BP with a non-game model bat (or wooden model) and then only using the 2016 Adidas EQT X1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (X1) in the actual game.

The differences between the 2016 Adidas EQT X1 BBCOR Baseball Bat: X1 and the 2016 Adidas EQT X2 BBCOR Baseball Bat: X2 would be the swing weight feel (X1 is balanced while the X2 is end-loaded) and construction (X1 is a one-piece all alloy bat while the X2 is a hybrid bat featuring a two-piece construction with an alloy barrel and composite handle). The X2 will be better equipped to reduce vibration from off-centered hits as a result of the two-piece design.
