Should I use this bat if I'm a hitter who hits for average with some power. I'm a big kid not tall but strong. I don't like how the s1 feels.

The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1) has a slightly end loaded swing which will add more power to your swing. We typically recommend this bat for power hitters and since it has only a slightly end loaded feel, the XL1 would be a good choice for you.

I'm 5 foot 9 and about 195 pounds. What bat length should I use?

For your size, I would suggest a 33" in the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1).

My son is about 5 foot 2 and weighs 110 pounds. Which bat should be best for him between the XL1 or the S1 and what size should he use?

Based on your son's height and weight, we would recommend that he use a 30 inch bat. Because neither the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1) nor the 2014 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14S1) come in that size, you may be able to get away with using a 31 inch but I would recommend in that case that you go with the S1. It is more balanced and will be easier for him to adjust to.

Description for 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB14X1
New for 2014! The next generation of the Easton XL1 Power Brigade has arrived. Now in its third season, this groundbreaking line of bats is unlike anything else on the field today. The concept is simple: Help players hit for power. However, Easton realizes that different players achieve a powerful swing in different ways. That's why the Power Brigade is divided into two distinct series - the XL Series (XL1, XL2, and XL3) and the Speed Series (S1, S2, and S3). The XL Series is designed for bigger, stronger hitters who derive their power from a bat with more mass. Smaller length to weight ratios, and an extra-long barrel with a massive sweet spot and a slight end load characterize the XL Series. The Speed Series, on the other hand, helps players increase their swing speed in order to generate more power. These bats feature lighter length to weight ratios, a lower M.O.I., and a balanced feel. Further trying to equip players with their perfect bat, Easton offers all of its Power Brigade bats in a two-piece IMX Composite/SIC Black Carbon design (XL1, S1), a two-piece THT100 Scandium Alloy/SIC Black Composite hybrid design (XL2, S2), and a one-piece THT Scandium Alloy design (XL3, S3). Two of the highest performing materials ever used on a bat, Easton's patented IMX Composite optimizes the sweet spot for maximum performance, while their THT Scandium Alloy provides solid durability and allows for a larger alloy sweet spot than is seen anywhere else on the field. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology, and you've got a line of bats that can't be topped. Easton: Engineered for Glory! The XL1 is BBCOR Certified and approved for high school and collegiate play. It is backed by Easton's Exclusive Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!
