Pros:  Ball jumps off the bat. Zero break-in period because it's alloy. Heaviest of the 2 1/4 barrel little league bats on the market and I think it's important for kids to swing the heaviest bat they can handle.

Cons:  As with any 1 piece bat, there will be vibrations if you hit the ball off the end or if you get jammed. Too new to tell about durability. I wish this came in big barrel!

Do you have to break the bat in?

Generally, we do recommend a slight break-in for the 2014 Anderson TechZilla XP: (KTXP) Youth. We would suggest around 100-150 swings, rotating the barrel a quarter of an inch each time to help loosen up the material.

It looks like the barrel is bigger on the 2014, is it? We always loved your older models, but the new trend seems to be the larger barrel's.

In the youth model category of baseball bats, no barrel will exceed the size of 2 1/4". The bigger barrels are designated as "youth big barrel" or "senior league" models.
