Hi, I'm Michele Smith. I'm going to give you a couple of pointers on the curve ball. First for the grip, I like to lay my middle finger up on the smile of the ball. I like to tuck my index finger and my thumb is gonna be opposite of my middle finger. The snap is actually gonna be across my body. I want to think about keeping my palm up, snapping underneath the ball and coming across my body. For the actual stride off the pitching rubber, I like to step down and drive back across my body. So for me as a lefty, I'm going to step a little bit off center and pull back across my body. That's gonna give me late, sharp break and hopefully this ball will break in to a righthanded hitter and away from a lefty. So for righties you want to snap real hard across your body, toward the left and that's gonna get the ball to move into lefties and away from righties. But snap that ball really hard at the end, that's what's gonna give you that great late sharp curve ball.
