2023 Rawlings Icon BBCOR Baseball Bat: RBB3I3
Force your way into the Record Books and become a legend with the Rawlings Icon BBCOR Bat!
Bat Benefits
This offseason Rawlings went back to the drawing boards with one goal in mind: To build a legendary two-piece composite BBCOR bat. Which is exactly what they did in delivering the Icon!
The Icon utilizes Rawlings’ In/Tense Carbon Composite that is seamlessly constructed to maximize barrel performance while maintaining optimal stiffness and increasing the trampoline effect. It will also feature Zero Loss Energy Technology that achieves added durability and stiffness due to the smooth transition provided by the Zero Loss Collar.
Additionally, the Icon is designed with Rawlings’ Tuned Balanced Performance which offers an even swing weight that adjusts to each batter’s unique swing style!
This drop 3, BBCOR bat will be an excellent choice for both power and contact hitters. The lightweight feel will make it great for the batter who is a contact hitter and needs the bat to help place the ball all over the field in order to be successful. Meanwhile, power hitters will love it as the stiff connection will make them feel as though all of their power is getting put into each and every hit. Lastly, every hitter will love it for the super long barrel length which ultimately leads to a large, explosive sweet spot.
Warranty
In order to establish themselves as a heavy-hitter within the bat industry, Rawlings knows that they need to make a commitment to helping their customers when they are in need. If you get this bat and you are noticing issues on it within a year from the date of purchase, please let the JustBats Bat Experts know. They will get you the information for beginning the warranty return process with Rawlings.

Pros: Awesome! Best BBCOR out there!
Cons: None
Pros: Great pop out of the wrapper!! Sweet spot large and contact sounds and feels great!
Cons: Grip is too thin. .5mm grip does the trick!
Pros: The best BBCOR bat has great pop
Cons: the grip is to thin but just get 1.8 mm grip
Pros: The exit velo of this thing is VERY close to my son's Voodoo, but what this bat has is an incredible sweet spot. Hit the ball off the hands and you'll only know by the sound. The ball still flies and there is no feedback on the hands. Surprisingly even if you hit the ball off the end, it goes similar to Voodoos and the Goods which we're not used to for composite bats.
Cons: Pretty heavy. Way more heavy than the Voodoo, and even the Atlas. The Varsity 3-hole hitter on our high school baseball team was struggling to get this bat around, but a power hitter has no problem. Very thin grip, but not so thin it would have bothered us without all of the reviews commenting on it.
Pros: best bat bbcor bat you can buy right now
Cons: very ugly and grip is to thin but very easy to fix
Pros: This bat is all that it’s been hyped up about
Cons: Bat grip it comes with way to thin
Pros: When bat was not broken it feels good and has good pop
Cons: It will not last and rawlings warranty process is a nightmare. End Cap popped off within first 500 swings on a $500 bat. Buy a different bat.
Pros: Hot out of the box and getting hotter after every hit.
Cons: Handle a little skinny.
Pros: Great pop and swing weight!! Son has had some solid hit and a monster bomb since he started playing with the icon.
Cons: Worried it will break.
Pros: No vibration on bat Great sound
Cons: End cap broke in a week of having it, not worth the 500$ it is
Pros: It looks great. Took only around 100 swings to get a good break in.
Cons: Group was slightly small. Added .5 Vulcan grip.
Pros: I've been able to swing the goods, missle 2, omaha, voodoo, atlas, bonesaber, cat x, and 2022 meta for some pretty good time now and here is my real review. The icon is the composite equivalent of the goods. It has a huge barrel, and the pop is crazy. However it is heavier than most of the top 1 piece alloys, and to me, it feels a decent amount lighter than the goods but a little heavier than the atlas. (almost like a light endload if that makes sense.) This bat feels great when you square balls up and it gets a little better once broken in. Its almost addicting since the bat feels so smooth and theres just so much barrel. Personally, I will probably keep using the voodoo or the bonesaber until I can more confidently get the Icon around on faster pitching. Still definitely reccomend this bat!
Cons: Heard there might be durability issues + bat is not cheap + grip is a little thin. If its out of stock, its not the end of the world. There are a lot of other bats that are still very good!
Pros: Tremendous Bat, best bat out there. Amazing pop.
Cons: No cons

About the Brand

Rawlings is a major manufacturer of competitive team sports equipment and apparel for baseball, basketball, and football, as well as licensed MLB, NFL, and NCAA retail products. Rawlings is a major supplier to professional, collegiate, interscholastic, and amateur organizations worldwide, including the Official Baseball Supplier to Major League Baseball.
The first real innovation in glove making occurred in 1912 when Rawlings Sporting Goods Company introduced the "Sure Catch" glove, which was "endorsed by leading players all over the country." The Sure Catch was a one-piece glove with sewn-in finger channels and looked better suited for a duck's foot than a man's hand. Catchers' mitts used at the time were large and bulky with a single leather thong passing for a web.
In 1920, Bill Doak, a journeyman pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, approached Rawlings with an idea for improving the baseball glove from a mere protective device to a genuine aid in fielding. The "Bill Doak" model was so revolutionary that it stayed in Rawlings' line until 1953. Its key feature was a multi-thong web laced into the first finger and thumb, which created for the first time in baseball's young life, a natural pocket.
In 1925, Rawlings unveiled a three-fingered fielder's glove, and ten years later improved the Bill Doak model with a two-piece leather web. At the same time, the "T" web became a rage for first basemen's mitts. The pocket underwent a pronounced change in 1941 when the Trapper Mitt, also known as the Claw, appeared. The "Deep Well" pocket was so unique that Rawlings quickly patented it. The design was improved in 1950 by adding a leather piece across the top. Another significant creation occurred in 1948 with the three-fingered Playmaker. A five-fingered fielder's model, with all fingers laced together, provided greater pocket control.
The six-fingered Trap-Eze evolved in the 1960's. In more recent years, Rawlings produced the Fastback design, which gives a glove a snugger fit, greater extension, and overall control. The Holdster is a slot through which a finger can be extended for additional protection from impacts on the pocket. Then, there is the Edge-U-Cated Heel with its extended U-shaped lacing and the Pro H Web and much-copied Basket Web.
Some of Rawlings's more recent glove innovations also include the unique Spin-Stopper design which reduces ball spin when the ball hits the glove, and the Cantilever glove design feature that provides a cushioned area between the hand and the glove's palm area. In all, Rawlings has produced and patented more functionally innovative glove features and designs than that of any other glove manufacturer. The result is that the modern baseball glove is much larger, more comfortable, better padded, and made to last far longer than its ancestors. It is not uncommon to see today's Major League players wearing the same Rawlings glove they wore during their college playing days. In fact, Rawlings is the #1 glove in the major leagues. Rawlings maintains about 65 models of baseball and softball mitts and gloves in its line. The prototypes of virtually all of them have been field-tested by professionals before entering a sporting goods dealer's inventory.
