These particular models did not meet the professional player's specific desire as far as length, weight, balance, handle, or knob, etc. Therefore, they were then pulled from the player's order and sold individually. There are no defects or "blems" to the bat, but rather they simply did not match the exact criteria of the player. As a result, you now have the chance to take advantage of a professional-grade model, without having to pay a professional-grade price!

No, unfortunately, you can't request a specific model on these bats. Marucci does not label them with their specific turns. Because of that, it will be a luck-of-the-draw in regard to the turn of bat you receive.

These Marucci Pro Cut bats can be from any turn within Marucci's line. Barrel size on adult wood bats usually hovers right around 2 1/2 inches. Because of that, I would cautiously say that the bat you receive will be right around 2 1/2 inch in diameter.

These are bats that did not make it to the final stage of production due to minor issues (discoloration in the wood, bat was cut incorrectly, etc...) that do not include low quality wood. The wood quality was there, just not the finer details. Since they just receive a standard all-black paint job and don't have a specific turn model listed, Marucci sells them to us at a lower price and we can sell to customers at a lower price too.

This can be an uneven paint job, wrong labeling, maybe the pro cup was a little too deep for Marucci's liking, the flare of the knob may not meet Marucci's exact specifications for the specific turning model they had in mind, etc...

Wood bats are very unpredictable, especially for players who don't have much experience hitting with wood bats. I've seen Marucci's MCMBBCULL bats last 6 months, others, I've seen last 6 hits. One thing to keep in mind with wood bats, is that they are much less forgiving than alloy or composite bats and there are many reasons why wood bats break. If contact is made too close to the end of the barrel or close to the handle, the chances of the bat breaking increase. If contact is made on the wrong side of the barrel, the chances of the bat breaking increase. When hitting with wood bats the first thing the player must do is make the label (emblem on the barrel) of the bat face straight up or straight down. The areas to either side of the label on the bat is not only the hardest but also the strongest.

These Pro Cut bats are ones that were being crafted for a professional player, but they did not meet all the specs of the pro player's order. The flaws on these bats are usually discoloration in the wood (which won't matter in the end because they are painted black) or maybe the bat wasn't turned exactly as the pro player wanted. Marucci puts these bats to the side, paints them black and sends them to us to sell at a bit of a discount. To answer your question directly, no these bats are not blemished and should still feature high-quality wood.

There is no guaranteed barrel size when you purchase one of these Marucci Pro Cut Maple Wood Baseball Bats (MCMBBCULL Black Adult) as they can be any wood bat turn that Marucci constructs.
