Best Marucci Bat for High Level Youth KW_IAH coach
Pros: As the coach of a high level travel ball program, I have always been a fan of Marucci's wood bats. I am very happy to see that marucci has come out with a high performing composite design for the youth market. This bat hits every bit as good as the Eastons and Demarinis and my players think it feels better. I HIGHLY recommend this bat.
Cons: None
Massive Barrel and Great pop Cal_11U player
Pros: This barrel is huge! The sweet spot is literally twice the size of every other bat i've had. The composite has amazing pop. I thought this would have been end loaded, but it really isn't bad at all. Very easy to swing and the ball flies off this thing. Best composite big barrel I've had.
Cons: The green grip looks sick, but gets dirty.
Monster Bat, lots of pop Leftcoastswag player
Pros: Huge barrel, tons of pop, sounds like cannon, Looks sick, Grip is soft, New favorite bat
Cons: Kinda high $$, but worth it.
Had to have it to compete! C_Brad coach
Pros: I watched this bat hit 9 hr's in 2 games, 5 of which came against my team! The ball absolutely explodes off this bat. My kids love the look, feel and even the sound of the bat; all of which are unique in a good way. Kudos to Marucci on their first composite bat.
Cons: I wish I had been the first to find this bat
Great Stick Texas Select parent
Pros: Marucci did a great job with this one. Large Sweetspot, Ball jumps off the bat. We have been through quite a few bats recently and this one seems to be the best one yet.
Cons: None yet
not worth the money Randy Elliott parent
Pros: Great feel, great balance, great pop
Cons: my son is 5'4" 120lbs,just turned 13. cracked the first one in 4 weeks, shattered the second replacement bat in two weeks.
Boy loves this bat Cy Loveall parent
Pros: Bat has a ton of pop sounds & feels like a Canon! We used Mako's last year & were disappointed so we are pumped this bat came through for us.
Cons: Little pricey but worth it
Great Bat for Contact Hitters Scott parent
Pros: The weight is evenly distributed, fantastic pop on contact, very nice grip, big hitting surface, it's full composite. My 8 year old is a contact hitter with speed, he gets this bat around quick for great pop on the ball. My son is a big fan of the black and neon green too, it stands out so much that I have had other parents ask me what kind of bat is that and where did you get it :) I've probably sold a few of them by how much praise I give this bat. Remember...it's a contact evenly balance big sweet spot bat. It's not end weighted.
Cons: Nothing
Hex Brayden player
Pros: The bat has awesome pop. The only reason I got it was cause of the barrel size.
Cons: I got the bat at the beginning of this year and in 2 months it was cracked in five differen places
Parent / Player AL MD coach
Pros: The Bat is hot out of the wrapper. My son who is 11 loves the bat. He has around 800 hundreds swings on the bat and it is still holding up. The performance of the bat seems to good to be true. Typically composites will fail just about the time the ball really starts to fly off the bat. It is still early in the season..
Cons: Nothing yet. Durability ? Fine so far
" IT JUST GETS THE JOB DONE " DD11UTN parent
Pros: My son is 11 and plays competitive ball at the Major level. Each year we have purchased the new "hot bat". Last year we purchased the extremely over priced Mako, which I have to say was easily the biggest let down to date. We were able to demo the HEX composite. We quickly ordered one. The bat has a ton of pop out of the wrapper. My son is a power hitter and traditionally used a -9 end loaded bat. Initially I was concerned about changing to a -10 well balanced bat. I felt that he would loose the ability to hit the long ball. He quickly removed that concern. This bat is for contact hitters as well as power hitters. It comes down to one fact , MARUCCI JUST GOT IT RIGHT!!!! Plain and simple. Maybe all the big name brands should narrow their focus to producing quality instead of quantity. Invest a little more in R&D instead of advertising. IF YOU BUILD IT,THEY WILL COME!!!!!!
Cons: None so far.
Great bat!!! Ellis parent
Pros: Now that my son has used this bat for four tournaments and 10 practices I feel I can write a review of the Marucci Hex Composite 29/19. He plays on a 9u travel team that spends most of their time in the gold major bracket. He's 4'9" and about 90 lbs. He's been a power hitter since tee ball and likes a balanced bat. He has tried alot of bats: Marucci Cat6 Easton S3 Easton S1 Marucci Black Marucci One Easton big barrel Mako Easton small barrel Mako DeMarini CF6 He says the Hex feels most like his small barrel Mako. Balanced with a light swing wieght. He hits the ball consistently 180-190ish feet. With the Hex the ball gets to the fence VERY fast. To break it in we went to the batting cage and I threw him about 400 balls one afternoon. The sound of the bat has that nice composite "crack" to it. He doesn't wear batting gloves and loves the way grip feels. No bat sting. No paint chipping. This bat puts a smile on my kid's face every time. It's his favorite big barrel. Awesome bat guys!!!
Cons: You don't see a lot of these bats at the park. I believe Marucci has priced themselves out of a larger market share.
coon dog Jeff Jones parent
Pros: My son loved this bat right out of the package. It had great pop and he loved the feel of the bat.
Cons: I had the first bat overnight for a Tuesday morning delivery. I left work early to take him to a cage before a game. The bat cracked in two places with 45 mph pitching on a 68 degree day. I sent it back to Marucci and they overnighted me a new one. I was extra carful to do the old style break in by hitting into a net very lightly, rotating the bat. We went to a tournament seeing 70 mph pitching and the second bat lasted four games before breaking in half. This looks to be a great bat for smaller kids and 50-55 mph pitching. I would not recommend it for high level ball. Marucci was great in sending bats and trying to come with a solution.
Awesome Billy Bo coach
Pros: Pop right out of the wrapper! My son loves it and his confidence is very high. Solid feel on batted balls and sounds great too. Several kids on the team are grabbing it to swing now.
Cons: None yet, only have had 2 weeks!
great shawn coach
Pros: tremendous pop. great feeling bat.
Cons: durability is poor. bought one, hit about 1000 balls and cracked. sent back. recieved a replacement, hit about another 1000 balls and cracked again. not for a kid that has power. this was a 30- drop 10. suggest a cat 6 or something more durrable.

Cons: cracked after light use
JP
Pros: Good balance and big barrel
Cons: Cracked after one month. Marucci warranty department is not responsive.
Great composite bat Coach G coach
Pros: Great Pop. Large sweet spot. Slick looking bat.
Cons: Can sting hands at times.
Cracked 2, only warranty 1 Jim parent
Pros: My son loved this bat's performance, but he cracked two of them. Marucci only provides one replacement, so now I'm out the money.
Cons: Cracks too easily. 2nd one cracked after two weeks.
AWESOME BAT Tater KYHEAT12U player
Pros: Good feel and well balanced. This bat hits hard. The ball jumps off of it. My favorite bat ever and I have used Easton and DeMarinis until now.
Cons: Didnt take long to start cracking. But composite bats arent broke in until they start to crack. Maybe it was a good thing.
Great Pop but Cracks Easily Jb coach
Pros: Superior feel and pop with trampoline effect Large sweet spot Forgiving for mishits
Cons: We've had three on our team this year and all have cracked in the barrel. Marucci knows this is a problem and recommended the Hex Alloy. That bat has similar feel and pop and doesn't need to be broken in. Warranty replacements are great and come back within a week.
Pop Dylan Wade player
Pros: Great bat with lots of pop and huge sweet spot I recommend using this bat if you are a power hitter
Cons: Cons is only half way through the season the bat literally shattered
Great bat for very short time Cy Loveall parent
Pros: Great pop best out there... Love the grip... Very good looking bat.
Cons: Cost.... Durability is awful 1st bat cracked after 1 month sent it back told me to go up a size so I did and after 4 months of average use and then bat cracked again really not good... So ended up buying a combat bat
Disappointed Drew P parent
Pros: Great feel and pop
Cons: Durability, son (13 years old) shattered 2 in 2 weeks.
Great Bat!!! David player
Pros: It is very balanced and it is great for hard line drives.
Cons: The grip gets dirty and wears very quick.
Durablity issues Corey parent
Pros: None
Cons: Bat cracked on two sides on the first day. My son is 11 years old and only 70 lbs. I read that the bat had issues with cracking, but didn't think my son was strong enough. It was 75 degrees out so coldness wasn't the issue. Bat cracked after about 30 hits. Buyer beware!
Missiles 8U Coach/Dad coach
Pros: I have read all of the reviews on this bat and think it's crazy all the complaining about the bat and small cracks.. Do most of you dad's not know that composite bats aren't broke in all the way until you start putting small cracks in them? My son is 8 and about 60 lbs, plays 8U KP. He swings a 29/19 and hits absolute missiles with this bat now that it has a few cracks in it. It takes 600+ hits on this bat to really break it in. We have two of these and the sound and speed of the batted ball is completely different once broken in!!
Cons: Takes too long to really break it in! Some advice would be to have dad take about 200-300 3/4 swings with it before even handing to your kid. Once this bat breaks in there isn't a comparable bat on the market.
